    Former NHRA Certified Tech Inspector and "Water box" worker here. Spinning the tires in the middle of the puddle slings water throughout your wheel wells and will potentially drip water back onto your tires while staging. I have seen this happen first hand. Just an additional tech tip.

      Yeah, I've noticed that alot going to the Dragstrip. I just roll through the water, No tire spinning while in the water, just like you said, water will get up into wheel wells and drip onto tires. Just drive through the water slowly, and about a foot after the water is when i light em up.

      It was interesting to hear the tire rep say the radial tire won’t pull up the rubber (defending their product maybe?) and the VP say that it will. As they say, everyone has an opinion.

    Hate seeing guys spinning the tyres over the start line, it's just not good sportsmanlike behaviour 😡 not only does it potentially mess up your run but it can also screw up everyone after you so just don't do it. It should be seen in the same light as oiling the track. If you do it too many times you get kicked out 😎

    • @danmyers9372
      @danmyers9372 3 года назад

      I think it’s old school thinking when prep wasn’t very good and you needed to apply rubber for good adhesion (coefficient of friction) for slicks.

    • @wbrettgray6544
      @wbrettgray6544 3 года назад

      Every pro class in NHRA except maybe motorcycle does a burn out across the starting line. If you don't like a kick ass long smokey burn out you likely suffer from low T.

    • @lowriderbug
      @lowriderbug 3 года назад +1

      @@wbrettgray6544 I love a long smokey burnout 😎 I guess I am old school because when I started out racing it was unacceptable for people to burnout across the line no matter who they were from top fuel down to sportsman. I guess that lesson stuck and I still find it annoying when someone rips through the beams without lifting.
