Great video! However there are a few crucial steps that you missed. 1st blow some compressed air around the coil packs before you remove them. 2nd Don't use anti seize on the plugs as it changes the torque spec. 3rd Always put a dab of dialectic grease on the end of the coil pack before putting it back on the plug. 4th Grab A 3/8 torque wrench and torque to15 ft-lbs. 5th when you feel resistance on the plug tighten then loosen it back-and-forth, that way you avoid snapping the plug in the cylinder head. That's your midas tip of the week. 😎
Thank you for this comment. These steps will save you from complications and future problems. This video is a good example of why I do my own maintenance over taking it to the dealer.
Normally in spark plug sockets there is a rubber gasket....if yours doesn't have one you can use the assembly (the solid wire that snaps onto the plug) after you loosen it....worked like a charm...will not cause the gap to change when you hold with your fingers and drop the new plug into the hole!
Oh your talking about using the coil ?? Cause there is no wires on new cars , also my socket has the rubber ring , the problem Here was that the porcelain broke when taking off the old plug , but thanks for the advice .
Forgot to mention a torque wrench when tightening, i wonder how many people destroyed their cars by overtightening their spark plugs. Thanks for the video.
Hey my wife has this car, had alittle trouble cranking this morning. i just tried it and it's fine. also it's making a loud sucking hissing noise above the spark plugs
Check all the vacuum lines make sure they are all properly connected , as for the trouble cranking , it could be a battery when they start getting old and yes 3 years is old , low battery will cause a longer crank have it tested , also if you live in a area where it’s cold make sure that you don’t start the car and shut off immediately cause when the car first starts it dumps a lot of fuel into the cylinders and if u shut if off immediately the spark plugs will get damp cause of the fuel just sitting there and then you will have a hard time starting it , if you are are 90-100k miles replace the plugs as well .
I did the same job you did. My rogue is a 2015 and I had the same issue with plug # 3 , it felt stripped and the ceramic was cracked around the and a small pieces came off, not as bad as yours was. The car had a hard time starting at first and ran rough but straightened out and ran smoothly after a few minutes, no check engine-light came on. I wonder if the same 3rd cylinder was a fluke or some kind of a Nissan issue...
I work at a Nissan dealer , I’ve seen this in other cars , did u drop some of the porcelain into the cylinder , that’s probably why it ran rough at first .
PRviewsvlogs I don’t think so, I vacuumed it up. the , car is running good now. It has always had a vibration since it was purchased, it still has that same vibration.
Wondering... I have a 2016 Nissan Rogue with 110,000 miles- I have noticed a little more of an idle at stopping. I also am noticing when take off -like a kick back- more of a hesitation going up a hill. Less power that is-if that makes sense. The kick back is off and on and only when stopping and then going. Sorry i am horrible with explaining things. A friend told me maybe a fuel filter and spark plugs but how do you know for sure. I am also having a vibration when stopping which i think that is my rotors as my brakes were replaced 1.5 years ago.
@@PRviewsvlogs I see. I just pray not the transmission as I heard CVT's were the worse. I was told a few months back that my transmission was good. So, i guess we will see when I schedule to take it in :(
great real life experience with broken plug. do u suggest changing pcv at same time? did u do fuel injector cleaning? if yes, how do u recommend a diy do it?
Well that wasn’t a true broken plug lucky the nut was there only the ceramic broke , and you can do the pcv valve it’s not hard to do , as far as injection cleaning I would honestly have a dealer do it cause they run the car for about 45minuts only on cleaner and no gas best way to clean them or you can try sea foam thru the brake booster vacuum hose
Do you know what would cause a clank sound in a 2015 Nissan Rogue when shifting from park to drive/reverse? I've looked everywhere regarding this CVT and can't find any forums with a similar issue. Found you by looking to see how simple a spark plug change would be and happy to find your video. Since you mentioned working on Nissans thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.
Depends on the clank sound , there could be different issues or no issues , if your on a Incline , like a driveway or something and you put the car in park with out engaging the parking brake then the clank is the trans releasing the parking pawl cause there is pressure against it , could also be a bad motor mount , best way to check this is start the car and engine torque it , press the brake and hold the brakes, and put the car on drive still holding the brake hit the gas , if there is a big vibration you may have a bad mount . Other then that I would take in to a dealer and have them look at it .

@@PRviewsvlogs yes. Engine misfire. Dealer did lot of analysis and even changed 2 fuel injector. Problem came back. I changed battery. Problem came back after 6 months. Now thinking of changing plugs and coil. Still a mystery. Something Electrical for sure
Yea possibly , so I’m thinking you probably have a p0300 which is a multi cylinder misfire , if so yes I would start by replacing all 4coils and plugs , if that doesn’t not help it may be a electrical issue . It can also be a head gaskets leak has the dealer done a pressure test ?

Heyy good video. Thx. I have a not related tune up question. I own a 16 rogue, when I accelerate I hear grinding noise like a bad bearing. I took it to dealer that can't figure it out. Did alot of research what I was finding it is the oil pump for the CBT transmission. What is your opinion
Thank you , and my friend grinding noises can come from anywhere , there is no actual Pump for CVT there is a valve body that sends oil to the trans , if the car is AWD it may be a rear differential or transfer case , could be internal from the CVT , as well could even be a bad alternator , I would need to hear it or drive it to try and figure it out , if the noise is consistent the dealer should be able to figure it out. Did you pay for diagnosis or just had them do a free inspection?
@@PRviewsvlogs paid for a diagnostic. I have an extended warranty I bought the car used. They said the insurance company needs to be certain what it is.
