I bought a sump pump from Home Depot 8 years ago with a lifetime warranty. It went bad after 3 years and Home Depot replaced it but they replaced it with one with a 2 year warranty as they no longer offer the lifetime warranty one. This one has been going for 5 years so if it fails, I have to pay for a new one.

I believe the ones that were redesigned after 2016 or in 2016 are built better the crappy Nissans were the ones built from 2001 to 2015 and they were trying to save money in order to sell more to make money so they didn’t go bankrupt in the early 2000s. I but anyways I believe Nissan’s quality is higher now how much higher I don’t know it might only be slightly but I do believe the quality is better now than it was then I was even better in the 90s than it is now.

All the new vehicles are absolutely beautiful and marvels of technology and great to drive with every convenience but they are over engineered and way beyond the most experienced technicians at the dealership. When you hear the phrase come from the Service Mgr "that's normal, there all like that, don''t worry about it." That means they don't have the expertise to analyze and repair a problem. I have 3 cars, an 05 Titan truck, simple V8 and 4 speed auto, an 06 Accord with the 2.4l bullet proof engine4 and 4 speed auto and an 18 RAV4 Hybrid with the old style port injected 4 cylinder. Yes it is a Hybrid but nobody does hybrids better than Toyota. My advice, try to find a used vehicle , low miles with tried and true technology if you can find one.

Those lifetime warranties from dealers are a scam. Usually, they make you sign your service away to them. If they say something needs to be serviced, at any point, you have to do it and pay for the wearable items, or it voids the warranty (i.e. cabin air filter,... you need new tires because they seem low to US). Over the lifetime you pay for way more than you need. They are basically service contracts with the dealer and if you slip 1 time it voids the warranty. It a trap you can't get out of. It was all over the news here in Georgia a few years ago. It could be different from what I've seen, but I doubt it

Nissan's built in Japan are by far the most reliable cars on the road... And unlike Honda and Toyota, Nissan has always stuck to the timing chains instead of timing belts.
This car has been out in Europe for almost 2 years now, it's called the Nissan X-trail. They have had very good reviews from them so far. They seem to be selling well over there and I'm certain they I'll do well here as well.
Scotty I'm surprised you don't know this being a Toyota fanatic but this technology was first used by Toyota in the Toyota Yaris GR with it's 1.6L 3 cylinder turbo, generating 261 HP. And it's AWD system puts the power to the ground real well! 0 to 60mp/h in 5 seconds.

Yeah, you have to STRICTLY adhere to EVERYTHING the dealer recommends to keep that warranty intact... So if they want to charge you $150 for an oil change and tire rotation every 3k miles, you gotta do it and you HAVE to do it at that dealer franchise or it's invalid.
In the real world those unlimited warranty's from a dealership are about as worthless as the paper they are written on.

I can just about guarantee there's a lot of exceptions where the warranty will be void or the dealer will say "oh, that's normal". Replacing a transmission is no small job, so either Nissan is very confident this transmission won't have any problems (which I doubt, given how the previous versions have held up), or they have made sure there are so many exceptions they won't have to change practically any transmissions for free. Nissan has been working on VC for the past 25 years. They were even working on it in the days before Renault took over. This 1.5L turbo 3 though for what it is, it’s overall impressive. 201 hp/225 lb Ft is nothing to sneeze at. GM’s 1.3L turbo 3 by comparison, only makes 155 hp/176 lb Ft. Ford’s 1:5L turbo 3 at 180 lb/203 lb Ft and Ford’s is nowhere as smooth or vibration free. Just wish Nissan went dual injection with it. The fat it only needs regular fuel is a plus too. Hopefully the redesigned JATCO CVT-X (as it’s called) will hold up but seeing it was designed for this engine, it should, proper maintenance is the key still too.

Power train warranties usually come with a caveat. You have to do all of the maintenance at the dealership, even simple things you can DIY, and they charge you hefty amounts.

I recommend the Mitsubishi Outlander, same platform, better vehicle with nicer interior, Mitsu S-AWC, 10y100k powertrain, 5/60 basic, same prices.

Lots of high tech features... lots of high tech that can fail too. Turbocharged 3 cylinder engine... plenty of power when you mash the go pedal, but when going up a mountain, that turbo is likely going to be providing a lot of power for a prolonged time. Turbos generate a lot of heat, how is that extra heat going to effect the oil, coolant, all that high tech stuff inside the engine, and the transmission?

because there are differences in nissan-produced vehicles destined for high-altitude markets. those differences are always referenced in the parts and service literatures. the same thing can be said for high-altitude engines in general- they have to deal with lower-density intake air just like people do. high-altitude vehicles are available outside their normal markets thru special ordering and vice-versa.

With a warranty that generous on the surface, I'd be *very* concerned about the fine print and how strictly they enforce things like the typical warranty requirement that you don't outright abuse the product.

not a problem - there were plenty of people who WEREN'T as concerned and went ahead with their purchase. when you build reliable products- its like shooting fish in a barrel...

Scottie You made my ear with your fine. Honest praise of my new Nissan Rogue SV which I really love and to have you give it.
You're AOK meant a lot. I think Nissan.
      Genuinely
      Customizes, they're fine product.
To top quality. After 41 years with my own company, I bought me a rogue. And a double extended factory warranty for $1200. And now I don't have to tell customers when I see their nissans in the driveway. Nobody ever complained about their Nissan and they Always agree, they love their nissanow because you Scotty. I could not be more selfish. Or thank you, my friend. Tom universal overhead door company.
