    Hi, how loud is the door chime? How will we be notified if someone press the Bell? Will there be a chime? If am not holding my phone, Will I hear a door Bell, like those old doorbell? Do we need a separate device for chime?

      I think the bell should coming via your phone so the bell ring does not bother the neighbors and preserve your privacy. You don't want your whole neighbor hears your bell and knowing all the activity in your who comes and who does not come.

    Hi Adam, did u figure anything else about solving the Live lag? Did you check the Signal Strength on Settings-Device Health ?
    I have the same issue and supposedly if you have a signal lower then -60 we should be fine, but I am at -55 and having problems.
    Thanks in advance.

    • @WYSbyAdamLash
      @WYSbyAdamLash  3 года назад +2

      Hey Cruz. Thanks for the awesome feedback. My RSSI is -41 and like you said I suspect the signal strength is the culprit here. At least that's what it says on Ring's website. This is why I will add a wifi booster and check it again. Will let you know. Thanks 👍🏻

    • @cruzo406
      @cruzo406 3 года назад +3

      @@WYSbyAdamLash Hi, according to ring,if rssi is lower then -60, system should work fine. SO according to Ring, your rssi of -41 should work fine. But, I don't believe the issue is the signal strength.
      So this morning, I remove my ring peephole from the door (at -55 rssi) and just placed it next to the modem.
      RSSI dropped to -9. The Live view would then take about 3-4 seconds to come up. Great !
      However, I then tried live view on my Ring floodlight (-49 rssi) and it took about 4 seconds ! What? It usually takes forever or none.
      I don't think so, but maybe there is some communication between the ring devices. I mean, why would my floodlight all of a sudden be almost as fast as the device at -9 rssi.
      I tried a few minutes later the Live view on both devices and it would take up to 15 seconds. Not good!
      At this point, I think having a stronger signal does help a bit, but the lag problem for fast Live response has to do with bandwidth or ring video processing logic. Let's keep trying to figure it out.
      Thanks.

      For legal advice, please consult your lawyer. I believe that unless your rental contract specifically states that you're not allowed to install a security camera in front of your door (common area), then you may be allowed to. However, it's best to ask for permission from the landlord and to put a sign outside letting tenants know that your place is being protected by Ring surveillance. This is your personal security and you are not going to violate the rights of others, so why not?

      @@Barca4Life777 Wow...if it helps any, I've got the same issue. I don't know who's doing it (I believe there are more than one) and I'm trying to find the right camera quick enough to catch them. I can't use anything with a lag and would prefer 24/7 recording, but my understanding is the Ring doesn't do that, only motion activated recording, which has a slight lag. These kids move too fast to have any kind of lag. I also need something that won't get stolen, so a peephole camera sounded idea, but not with a lag. Fortunately, my manager is encouraging me to get a camera.

    • @mangos2888
      @mangos2888 Год назад

      @Diane Iverson You're going to want a hardwired security camera and hardwiring to your router for 24/7 recording and no lag. This system would go through its battery every day if it had to have continuous recording. Also, all it takes is high usage for lag to become an issue. ADT might be a better solution to meet you needs.

    Hey Adam thanks for making this video! I was wondering if you could tell us about the LED on the outside when motion is detected? When does it turn on, are people outside able to tell that it has detected motion, like does it turn blue? I’d prefer that the LED did not turn on every time it detects motion so as not to annoy neighbors or make them feel surveilled. So I was wondering if you could elaborate on when and when not the LED on the outside turns on? I can’t find a definitive answer in any other videos and the Ring online manual is vague as to when or when not the LED ring turns on.
