This video is so looooooong I was hesitant to watch it yesterday but I’m sooooo glad I’m watching it today🤓 It’s so informative thank you so much hunnnn!!! Blessed day !!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰🥰
I'm heavily invested in the Amazon ecosystem and during the recent Prime days the Blink doorbell and Sync Module 2 were less than $50 ($47.49 to be exact) together. I don't want to pay for cloud storage and already had a 64GB flash drive sitting around. To me, it's mostly just an upgrade of my doorbell from the 1990's. It may not have all the bells and whistles of the others but for under $50 I got a new doorbell with some video capabilities that easily works with all my other Amazon devices.
Exactly! Me too. IMHO the Blink camera system gets an undeserved bad rap by some new users because many purchasers have no prior experience or background in home automation, are apparently unaccustomed to reading instructions and throw them away with the box, have never in their lifetime googled to find answers to their problems, but instead go on user groups just to whine and complain; yes it is a limited low-end system but what it does it does well and has an excellent, well-organized and constantly updated support system online. And Alexa virtually doubles its usefulness with simple to create Routines but "Alexa? What's that?"
Nice job, Brian. I haven't seen anyone else do this comparison before. I bought one to try out even though I'm not going to replace my Ring as it integrates too well with my Ring security system. What I did do, though was mount it outside beside my garage door to see how it works as an inexpensive Homekit battery-operated outdoor camera. It's out in the open and facing due west so I'll see how long it lasts like that. The video is quite good, but it's been overcast and I just put it up.
Thank you and NOW, I think I can finally unbox my Aqara. (I mean I have not even seen it because it's still in the Amazon delivery packaging). I got it about a week ago when it first arrived at Amazon but waited a bit until I can get some clear analysis about it and if I didn't in the time needed before the return window closed, I would just continue to use the Ring doorbell. Thanks Brian, for putting in the work to create this video. All the best.
Thanks! We're about to complete one for Pan and Tilt cameras just like this. I'm excited for it to come out because people have enjoyed this video so much.
We've used the older version of the Nest for several years & when we moved I forgot to uninstall it. However it has been rock solid hands down & since we still have the monitor hub & because the newer model is upgraded I'll be picking up the new version.
The biggest problem we had with the new version is that it doesn’t work with the nest app - only the Google home app, which is not as great (I was trying to be nice here..) the app is slow to respond, to a point that it becomes useless. I may be missing something here and would love to know if you had a different experience
15:45 honestly I had a similar issue with automating my porch lights, I had motion sensors, I had it programmed on my Google nest hub, but the best method I've found is simply a dusk to dawn lightbulb
Brian, Thank you for the most in-depth thorough Dawber review I’ve seen out there so far. I appreciate all the research and time you put into making this possible. I think I agree with you and will be picking up some of the Google nest doorbell’s for my home.
I have an Original Nest on my front door and I just picked up a wireless Google for my back door, both work great, of course I have the subscription, but that's life in 2024, overall I'm pretty happy, while nothing is perfect and of course they go "off line" from time to time, they do what they need to do. I also have 3 Nest Protects in my house (smoke/CO2 detectors)
Excellent review set! I ended up getting the Blink because, being in an apartment in a sketch area, I actually had a simple set of needs: One view, wireless communication and ease of access from home devices. I don't need different types of detection or "zones" of privacy. And, one that would be affordable to replace *when* stolen or destroyed (no matter how heavy duty the door bracket is)
very informative; I have the wired google doorbell, but when someone ring my doorbell, but the sound of the notice on my phone is mute. So many time I don't hear the notification. Is there away to have another sound device in my home that I can easily hear? Thank you
There are a lot of ways to get additional notices in your home. I've connected the Google doorbells to four different hubs at this point. The Google Nest Hub or Google Nest Hub Max, Homey Pro, Alexa, and SmartThings. All of those give you different options for hearing the doorbell. And actually I have it connected to a homepod too. So just pick what else you want in your home and you can make it happen
Even though this video is already a year old - still a very useful review of all the different smart video doorbell options! Thanks! The only thing that still has me undecided is the question of which smart video doorbell is able to stream directly to my Google Nest Hub upon pressing of the doorbell?
@@AutomateYourLife $90 wiFi or POE. I think its available in Canada not. SIM or NVR local storage. Or if you want rich notifications get the Wi-Fi version and their cloud service. Also has a Home Assistant integration. Kepp up the good work.l
Really nice video. Unfortunately the battery life is not covered. Any findings on that for those cameras? A lot of people buy these so they have not to wire them.
Unfortunately, covering battery life is just about impossible. It's more about how accurate they are at deciding to record then it is anything else. That's because the drain is based on cameras running, recording, and transferring data. In general, all of these will last 3 months with moderate use. Less with more, and can last up to 6 months
Hi. Great review. I am closing in on my purchase and considering Aqara. Has the minimum 6 second recording been replaced I am looking for 24/7 wired and am leaning towards the Nest. Is 24/7 actually what it sounds like? Can I set up my doorbell to continually record non stop? Thanks again. Your review is the bomb.
I don't believe there's a 24/7 recording option in either of the 4 of these. However, with a Nest Aware plan you could do it with the Wired Version of theirs :)
This is by far THE best smart doorbell comparison out there! All the pro's and con's are right on! Great job sir! So this was taken a year ago! Do you still recommend the google nest doorbell overall, and Since then, has you thoughts on the blink doorbell changed?
Not really! It's a good budget option and I think a lot of people should take the $25 on sale pricing there. The Sync Module 2 is good too, as it can keep you mostly out of a need for a subscription :)
I spent more time trying to find a quality video than I did watching this one. Thanks for all the time you put into distilling all this information dude-- very helpful for the first world population 😎
Hi, sorry I know this is a dumb question, but if I buy ring or nest, will I be able to see live feed on my iPhone? I don’t have Alexa or any of the compatible devices they say on the description..ty
Dude, this is the best video review I've seen. Thank you for great content. Only topic I'd include is customer support. If there's an issue, how easy is it to contact them and resolve the issue. Ring isn't great but Wyze is completely useless because you can't reach out to them at all. I know they weren't in the review, just used them as an example because their video doorbell I bought is still sitting in the box 😂
I was sold on google then seen there is no local storage and that’s a deal breaker. We live in the country and sometimes have spotty. Internet at night.
I have the blink, and am waiting for the nuki smartlock. I Wonder if its possible to connect the blink wired to my intercom, at least for the Bell/chime, and then control/open the garden door with the nuki opener ?
I don't know about the specifics there, but audio doesn't come through any wires with these doorbells. They just close a circuit to a chime in your home when rung. So if it's fairly standard you should be good. Check transformer ratings!
Reolink's doorbell cam is also a good option, in my opinion, and they don't require you to stay with Reolink's devices and services thanks to their RTSP/ONVIF support and HA integrations. They also come in at $90 and $100 for the PoE and wifi versions respectively, so pricing is reasonable.
Hi Brian, this is the first video I’ve ever seen of yours but it’s probably the most detailed and well thought out review I’ve seen - amazing work, thank you! Did you ever decide between Aqara and Google? If so, why did you make that choice?
Hey Sam, thank you! I've mostly been using Google. They've expanded what they work with and I just don't care enough to have the recordings from that camera. I use other cameras that are free to get recordings from and I'm happy with my coverage. So I've been using Google for a bit here. :)
I have a property that does not have internet service. Am I correct in understanding the Aqara can work completely free of internet with a micro sd card that I can store inside? I have a nosy neighbor who has been told multiple times to stay off the property and would like to have a recording of him trespassing to press charges.
Thanks sir, appreciate the reply. That's good news as I just purchased the ring doorbell plus. I have found a way to get the rich notifications to show on my fire tv using a 3rd party app but there about 7 seconds delayed so was wondering if there is a better option. I'm in the process of replacing fire TV's with Google TVs so just wanted to see if there was a better option for receiving the rich notifications on these devices. I'm replacing my old ring doorbell 2 for the plus so hopefully the notifications are faster and more reliable. Well thanks for your help and the video. Great job 👍🏼
Curious why the Ezviz DB1 is missing from this and most comparos. It's a solid performer, offering pretty much everything the Google doorbell does [minus sophisticated detection] for half the price and no subscription.
An indoor apartment I feel like all will work from this list. The blink is the cheapest, so I’d just go with that. However, Ring has a peephole version of a doorbell that is amazing for this use case
Great video! Very detailed! When someone rings the doorbell, does the Nest work just as the Ring camera? On the Ring app it’s a chime sound but in my house it sounds like my regular doorbell.
Hi, great video. I just wanted to give my experience of my Google battery doorbell used over the UK winter when the weather is around 0 degrees. The doorbell has lasted a maximum of 8 days before needing to be charged, I spoke to Google several times and I'm currently on my third device, all with the same poor battery life in cold weather. I've decided to keep the recent version and accept whilst cold I'll need to charge weekly. It's a shame as it's perfect in every other aspect and as I'm renting I don't have the option to wire it.
Google runs down on batteries faster when in cold weather, but you can extend it by tuning it. I've had about 2 months just paring down detection activations.
I bought the Aqara G4 doorbell and loved it, but unfortunately it doesn't work in direct sunlight. It's not even heating, it's winter and the doorbell is cold, but between 11am and 1pm when the sun shines straight on it loses connection and doesn't show any video.
Why doesnt google nest hub allow you to speak to aqara door bell? but it work with google doorbell? it would have been a clear choice for me if that works. do you think they would rectify that issue ?
Thanks for your reply! Can i clarify for google door bell last 3 hours refers to 3hours of event recording clips or time period of 3 hours? And they will delete the 4 hour footage?. Are we able to download the video file after the 3 hours pass?
No Eufy partially because of that. Mostly because they promised to give us some info as creators and have never delivered on it. Inconsistency like that worries me greatly.... Sorry!
I’m mostly invested into google home. I’m thinking of switching to Aqara as googles costs me monthly. Also I haven’t been happy with Google ignoring Canadians on certain features. Thoughts?

Have you looked at the Eufy doorbell? I just switched to the Wyze doorbell since i want wanting to have 1 "video security" system, but do not like it as well as the Amazon Doorbell Pro (which is much thinner than the one in your video. My key thing is integrating with my Google Home system (Including the Nest Hub). Amzn will not work with the hub at all. Wyze will only work if i give it a voice command. Eufy has a hub that all of it's cameras connect to and store the videos, thus there is no monthly fee. i am not positive about how well Eufy will integrate with the Google Home system.
Sadly, I won't look at Eufy until I have a good response from them on this: ruclips.net/video/Ah0yAhlZTJQ/видео.html I think things are fine, but they've promised fixes and responses and have never provided any. So we wait.
Hi Brian, another amazingly comprehensive video! I might have missed it, but can the Aqara doorbell's motion detection trigger Amazon routines? Thanks!
It actually can't. It's just a doorbell ring. That was a funny omission, but do keep in mind that you could make it happen with an Aqara Smart Plug being turned on/off :)
Nest (old model) has been nothing but trouble for me - goes offline all the time and has to be reset at the switch (in my basement) - so if we're away on holiday it invariably stops working and can't be reset remotely - thinking Aqara now but not sure it fits
That's no good. Sounds like you'd be sour on the new model, but I wonder if maybe it got hit with a surge/brownout type of situation in the past. Could've caused some issues. Good luck!
Hey Marcel, sadly Google has been totally silent on launches with me for about a year now. It's been painful to try to stay on top of what they're doing, as they're not helping at all. Don't know why they decided that was the right thing to do, but it means I can't tell you what's going on there for sure. My sense is they'll just not release it for years, if ever. They don't prioritize hardware for Nest and they don't prioritize it in the EU (even more so). However, I'm sure they knew the market growth potential in the EU for doorbells though, so maybe there is a plan. They're just not sharing it.
The Aqara's closest, with everything being done locally and without subscription. I'm not reviewing Eufy until they clarify some of their security and privacy practices as they'd promised to, so that's why they weren't included.
Yeah! I can see how this fits budgets, but man I don't know how long they'll be around for. Good news is they've guaranteed it'll get software updates for 2 years after they stop selling them!
Well, this solidifies my choice to get the Google doorbell. I've already got their nest hubs, their phones, their watches, and the premium subscription for cloud storage, I didn't realize there would be such a massive difference in their doorbell cam versus the other leading options. I was honestly just gonna go with whoever was cheapest but I just don't think it would be worth it to lose that many features.
I live in the country and I took Starlink to feed all my electronic needs. My Ring Video Doorbell 2 (Bought at Costco in 2018 for 239.99$ plus taxes), works better with Starlink, however, Ring does have a latency between the time someone passes in front of the camera and the time it notifies me and the sound is still very crappy and cuts up a lot! Now, Ring wants 49.99$ in US funds plus taxes per camera per year!! So needless to say that I will not install my other Ring that is a wired one called Ring Video Doorbell Pro! On different posts Ring owners are recommending Eufy, can you tell me if it is better than my versions of Ring?
In your specific situation, Eufy will work better to see the feed when you're at home. That's based on how they use a Homebase to transfer all the feeds within your home's WiFi. However, when you leave home...Starlink will likely still introduce some lag time in exactly the same way. Try it out and see how much it improves your situation, but Ring's pretty good when it comes to lag time. I get my feeds up in no time at all from Ring doorbells because my internet can handle it (speed AND lag time wise).
Amazing video!! If my ecosystem is mainly google but use Apple TV and have iPhone, what would work best? Starling hub solve all issues? We have wyze cameras, google minis and hubs, GE smart lights, Apple TV, and thinking of going with ecobee premiun thermostat. How could I tie all these systems together? Should I just stick with a nest thermostat and upgrade to nest doorbell? Or go for the ecobee thermostat and aquero doorbell? *okay dropping wyze
The only reason for you to get the Starling hub would be if you wanted the nest video doorbell on your Apple TV. Otherwise it's not going to help you. I think if you're happy with Nest then stay there but the Aqara I would give you the chance to switch between systems later. With the Hubs you have though, it's really nice to be able to see who's at the door and be able to respond on those hubs which you can only do with the nest doorbell
I guess my question is...what's "local-only" mean? - 3 of these can keep footage stored in your home locally. Only Google has to send offsite. Yes even Ring has an option for that. - They all require access to their web services in order to keep your feed secure when you want to look at your doorbell when away from home. - You can review footage off of the local storage in your home if that's where you're storing it. Hope that helps!
@@AutomateYourLife thanks for responding! I'm wanting to know if they can see my camera footage. What if the only online access came from my own server with a domain name I purchased myself? So it's 100% local in that case?
@@AutomateYourLife that's what I was looking at. Have tons of UniFi networking gear. But they had a hack recently where other people could see your video feeds meaning "they" can see your feeds :(
Thanks! Good news! I have a few Matter videos on here that explain different parts. Just search on the channel for Matter by going to the videos page and you'll find explainers from the basics to how it works today. :)
This is really great Brian! I've been thinking of getting a doorbell. Aqara and Google sounds like the best overall. While it's technically not a smart display, do you think the HomeKit doorbell live video function that shows up on an TV works with these two?
Yep! Should absolutely get that. I need to remember to do that test, but the last Aqara camera I had worked flawlessly as a camera on the Apple TV, so all the features are supposed to be here for this one.
If Google had an option for local recording without the subscription it would be the best. I have the wired Nest 2nd gen without the subscription and it's great. The 3 hours is enough for me. I have 4K turret surveillance cameras for recording any motion onto my Synology NAS. Eufy with the homebase is also good but it's battery powered even when wired in during cold weather it stops charging and shuts down. The wired only version doesn't work with an existing chime and uses a plug in which is a deal breaker for me. All other doorbells just don't look professional to me. The Aqara and Ring look like they are from the 1990s.
Thanks! And yeah, Eufy is one I thought about...but they've had the privacy and security concerns and have actually said they'd give me info and respond, but then haven't. So I'm a bit worried about what's happening with them.
You can see the original incident here: ruclips.net/video/Ah0yAhlZTJQ/видео.html They've since contacted us to tell us we could test out their new security and privacy patches, but never came back. It's been over 2 months I think now.
Size is a huge factor for me, only Google Nest and Amazon Blink fits my doorbell wiring (its nestled on a thin piece of plastic between a wall and a pane of glass), in the end I got Blink 3 years ago on sale so it was a worthwhile investment (it was pretty cheap and I really only needed a basic video doorbell without all the fancy features). I am heavily invested in the Google Ecosystem though so I kinda wish I went with Google Nest but so far the Blink doorbell hasn't let me down.
I want to answer the door from my chair and talk to the person at the front door. None of these seem to work without a long delay. By the time between the doorbell press and two-way conversation, the person is gone. Help.
Your network will drive a lot of the speed behind these, and then there is some speed related to cloud connections/services. The Ring and Google bells can be fast enough with good enough internet.
One thing I never fully understood is why Video Doorbells need to be so expensive compared to 4k cameras, even the ones with 2 way audio. I do totally agree that it can be hard to choose. They all do the basics, detect movement, turn on a camera and two way audio, but there are so many other little things that get thrown in depending what brand you have. I still am reluctant to buy cameras that do not allow local storage. Megapixels don't matter at all, and most people in the CCTV industry will tell you that. A larger sensor with lower MP is better at grabbing light, so you get much higher quality low light and no light footage. I really would not touch Ring while they have that feature of sending footage to agencies without asking first.
You're not wrong about that dollar comparison at all. I think some of the tech gets a little more "commoditized" when we talk about cameras, but Doorbells just aren't there yet in terms of standard designs. Also I'm really glad you commented on the MPs and sensors. That's exactly where Google nailed their device in my eyes. Then they trained it well to do the different types of detection and you get a lot of good footage with what you want captured. :)
When our Nest Hello doorbell died we replaced it with the wired 2nd gen, because we like the integration with all our Google home hubs and hub max. But I hate it so much. The narrow field of view is terrible based on my house setup...I keep missing half the people that walk up or can't tell what they're doing with a package half the time if they place it somewhere off camera, which was never an issue with the first gen Hello. And the software in the Home app is abysmal compared to the Nest app. The motion notifications are worthless because it only give you a small initial snippet of the person just starting to walk toward the door, nothing else. Then if you actually tap on that motion notification it only shows you the first few seconds, then stops right before the person actually gets to the door. WTF! And you can't do a quick scrub in 10 seconds increments like you could in the Nest app, to just jump back and see what the person did. I don't understand how Google made almost everything worse with a 2nd gen product. I'm tempted to just switch back to another first gen Hello. I'd switch to another cam but I really want the full home hub integration. Ecosystem lock sucks sometimes ☹️
Hey Adam, so it totally sounds like Google's the wrong choice for your home. You know, the Hub will ring with Aqara. You wouldn't be able to chat through the display, but that might be the right one for you. I wonder also if there's some work you could do on notification or even placement/angles? Honestly, the 2nd gen battery has been near perfect for me so I think it's about the detection being setup right here. Maybe something just specific is getting you.
This is a great comment @Adam Jakowenko and I echo similar sentiments. I currently have the 1st gen Nest wired doorbell camera (purchased in 2018) but it has since stopped activating my existing mechanical chime for some reason. With assistance from Google Tech Support, we ultimately determined that it is something faulty with the camera itself. Though the unit still seems to function correctly with all other primary functions. Google offered a $50 credit towards the purchase of the 2nd gen Nest wired doorbell camera (which seems generous) but I just can't justify seemingly going backwards in technology based on what I've heard with the comparison to the legacy Nest app versus Google Home. I also have a few older legacy Nest cameras/devices within my home which Google attests will not (yet) completely function with Google Home. So that's definitely a predicament for the time being. I didn't go with Nest Floodlight for the same reason and instead went the Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight. So I guess I might be looking towards the Arlo doorbell camera as a potential successor to my 1st gen Nest doorbell camera.
What if the battery dies? Does the camera link to your phone? Is it a motion camera? Can someone just rip it off? Why do you need a camera? Does it actually make noise inside the house. So many questions
I'll have to disagree with that ranking on detection. My motion sensitivity is set on 6 (9 being the highest) and I get notifications when a car goes past my house. Even got a notification when it was just the wind blowing. I might have to set it to 5 to see if it makes a difference. And it's actually about $40 on Amazon right now
If you connect your Aqara G4 to Apple Homekit with Homekit Secure Video you also get; face recognition (also from your photo library), animal detection, vehicle detection and package detection ;). Detection zones also..
@@AutomateYourLife my language is in dutch but you need to select “specific movements are detecded”. There you can enable it one by one but default everything is on. It’s under “status and notifications”. You can also found it under record options - more options. I got activityzones also, check your doorbell settings in homekit. All are default options for HSV.

Oh it's in the video! We tested that! Check the sheet too, that has details for you on streaming
@@AutomateYourLife Oh, got it! 21:42 you mention you can't answer the doorbell from the Nest Hub smart display unfortunately :-(
RTSP/ONVIF are critical for non proprietary local storage. Need to add Reolink to your mix.

I came back to thank you for your very thorough review! I went w/ the Google Nest cam + an outdoor one for my dawgz 😁
Safe Rover makes me happy! Enjoy!
Thanks for doing all this work. Great video!
Thank you!
Thanks for the review. Would the Aqara work as auto-gate doorbell? The gate would be approx 10 metres from the house.
Wow! Strong work on this video! Just what I was looking for. Does the nest doorbell work on the nest app or only google home?
Hey thanks! Sadly only Google Home now
Great Job, and you helped me with my decision. Thorough explanation, and clear
Glad I could help!
I spent more time trying to find a quality video than I did watching this one. Thanks for all the time you put into distilling all this information dude-- very helpful for the first world population 😎
Thanks so much! What a nice comment!
Hi, sorry I know this is a dumb question, but if I buy ring or nest, will I be able to see live feed on my iPhone? I don’t have Alexa or any of the compatible devices they say on the description..ty
Yep you will!😃

Thank you for being so thorough, incredible job, well done.

Thanks! That’s a great recommendation too. Long term ownership matters.
I was sold on google then seen there is no local storage and that’s a deal breaker. We live in the country and sometimes have spotty. Internet at night.
That's a big deal for lots of folks. You can look at the Aqara for that :)
Or Blink
😊😊
I think privacy is one of the biggest decision makers and you've left that out almost entirely
Eufy is an option also.
I am wondering which Doorbell would be best for an apartment complex dwelling? The hallway wall outside of my door is about 5 feet from my door.
They're all gonna work really well in that situation.
Great detailed information! Really helped me weed through the devices.
Thanks for watching and glad I could help!
Which one did you get
Reolink's doorbell cam is also a good option, in my opinion, and they don't require you to stay with Reolink's devices and services thanks to their RTSP/ONVIF support and HA integrations. They also come in at $90 and $100 for the PoE and wifi versions respectively, so pricing is reasonable.
A few folks are talking about that one today :)
My only gripe is that they don't have a battery version. Not a good option for renters.
Does the Reolnk offer non wired option?. Because all of the doorbells in the video is battery operated
@@L3v3F4l4stin4 Yes the Reolink uses the home doorbell wiring and wifi for signals. It also includes an ethernet jack.
Anything is better then blink
I’m still going with Google Nest as favorite, Ring in a close 2nd, and actually Eufy for battery operated or without a subscription
And you've tested quite a few!
Thanx. I've been looking into the Nest Doorbell. I'm a google luser so don't mind the Subscription price. You helped . 💙🌻💙
@@JolynBowler enjoy! Still a great doorbell
Why isn't ADT's Video Doorbell included in your comparison?
Well there's a lot to pick from. And that's not a DIY option. We don't do alarm company stuff in general
It can but you'd need Internet to get it setup. I think look at reolink in your specific situation and maybe get an NVR with it
@@AutomateYourLife would i be able to use a hotspot to set it up?
What does Google Nest use for a ring chime ? I have the Nest hub so does it ring on that ?
Yep!
Great video, thanks for comparing these doorbells. When you did these videos, did your neighbors wonder what you were doing lol
They always do! 🤣🤣
What ones best for rich notifications (least delayed) and are any of them comparable with android TVs
Android tvs don't do well with cameras and doorbells, but Ring and Google both do great rich notifications. I find ring faster
Great comparison ... amazing level of scrutiny!
Thanks!😀
The most important thing for me personally is that the sound can wake me and is preferable it's own device. Hope this is actually the ultimate review!
Good thing I included the sound levels and demos
Is there an update video with the ecobee?
no sorry
So i bought the Aqara g4, do i have to get the 512gb sd or will 256gb will do for 24/7 recording??

256 would be huge! You're good!
Thanks for your review, is there any way to integrate Aqara with control4 (via knx smart home system) ?
Not that I know of, sorry
Another great fact-filled comparison video! Thanks so much, Brian!
Thank you!
Would you recommend the wired version for Google in Canada over battery?
If you can, yeah. It's definitely better for winters. Not perfect because no electronics are when it's -40 C
Curious why the Ezviz DB1 is missing from this and most comparos. It's a solid performer, offering pretty much everything the Google doorbell does [minus sophisticated detection] for half the price and no subscription.
Never had it personally, tried other ezviz stuff but haven't found them standout with most cameras. Good for sure!
Hi Brian I'm looking to purchase a video doorbell for apartment units in NYC, USA. Which one would you recommend for me. Thank you in advance
An indoor apartment I feel like all will work from this list. The blink is the cheapest, so I’d just go with that. However, Ring has a peephole version of a doorbell that is amazing for this use case
Doesn't the Aqara work with SmartThings? As so many of their products do work with it?
Sadly no, not yet anyways
@@AutomateYourLife Bummer! I'll stick with my Nest Hello for now then.
Tnk u so much bro , blink doorbell work with homekit via homebridge or not ????
Not really. It's there but no feed shows up so you can't see it in Homekit. Just the doorbell press can be used with Homekit as far as I saw.
Great video! Very detailed! When someone rings the doorbell, does the Nest work just as the Ring camera? On the Ring app it’s a chime sound but in my house it sounds like my regular doorbell.
Yep! All of these can be wired into your existing chime
I don't know if they will Jeremy. Sorry! I am thinking that it's an issue with compatibility somewhere between hardware and backend design.
Thanks for your reply! Can i clarify for google door bell last 3 hours refers to 3hours of event recording clips or time period of 3 hours? And they will delete the 4 hour footage?.
Are we able to download the video file after the 3 hours pass?
No that's what it means. 3 hour and 1 minutes pass since someone rings your bell and that event is gone
No eufy? Or are they on a blacklist due to their privacy issues?
No Eufy partially because of that. Mostly because they promised to give us some info as creators and have never delivered on it. Inconsistency like that worries me greatly.... Sorry!
I am new subscriber and excellent comparison on door bell security surveillance video cameras.
Thanks!😃
I’m mostly invested into google home. I’m thinking of switching to Aqara as googles costs me monthly. Also I haven’t been happy with Google ignoring Canadians on certain features. Thoughts?

Does Wyze have a doorbell? When it comes to security cameras, I find they have the best value.
The fact that Amazon has two camera/doorbell brands makes me scared that Blink eventually will be swallowed into Ring and support will be dropped.
They do! 2 actually. Just didn't fit in this comparison this time. As for Blink, I worry about that too
Have you looked at the Eufy doorbell? I just switched to the Wyze doorbell since i want wanting to have 1 "video security" system, but do not like it as well as the Amazon Doorbell Pro (which is much thinner than the one in your video. My key thing is integrating with my Google Home system (Including the Nest Hub). Amzn will not work with the hub at all. Wyze will only work if i give it a voice command. Eufy has a hub that all of it's cameras connect to and store the videos, thus there is no monthly fee. i am not positive about how well Eufy will integrate with the Google Home system.
Sadly, I won't look at Eufy until I have a good response from them on this: ruclips.net/video/Ah0yAhlZTJQ/видео.html
I think things are fine, but they've promised fixes and responses and have never provided any.
@@AutomateYourLife Thanks!
I finally ended up with the Logitech Doorbell after using many others and finally I have a great doorbell using Homekit.
Haven't heard many people talk about that one! Glad you're happy with it
Nest (old model) has been nothing but trouble for me - goes offline all the time and has to be reset at the switch (in my basement) - so if we're away on holiday it invariably stops working and can't be reset remotely - thinking Aqara now but not sure it fits
That's no good. Sounds like you'd be sour on the new model, but I wonder if maybe it got hit with a surge/brownout type of situation in the past. Could've caused some issues. Good luck!
Hey Brian, do you have any idea when Google is planning to release their wired doorbell in the EU? And why it is taking them so long?
Hey Marcel, sadly Google has been totally silent on launches with me for about a year now. It's been painful to try to stay on top of what they're doing, as they're not helping at all. Don't know why they decided that was the right thing to do, but it means I can't tell you what's going on there for sure.
My sense is they'll just not release it for years, if ever. They don't prioritize hardware for Nest and they don't prioritize it in the EU (even more so). However, I'm sure they knew the market growth potential in the EU for doorbells though, so maybe there is a plan. They're just not sharing it.
How do you compare these to the eufy?
The Aqara's closest, with everything being done locally and without subscription. I'm not reviewing Eufy until they clarify some of their security and privacy practices as they'd promised to, so that's why they weren't included.
Awesome breakdown of doorbells Brian! Very detailed. Surprised Amazon hasn't discontinued Blink yet.
Yeah! I can see how this fits budgets, but man I don't know how long they'll be around for. Good news is they've guaranteed it'll get software updates for 2 years after they stop selling them!
@@AutomateYourLife Thats a positive if they do stop. One thing is a short life span of smart home devices.
Agreed!
I would love to see the day that good features of Blink be leveraged on and used on RING systems.
@@adieognira9709 Interesting idea!
Enjoy!
@Automate Your Life thanks! Would I be able to see the video from aquora on Apple TV and nest hubs?
Would aquora work with ecobee thermostat? Thanks
can you compare eugy, ring doorbell plus and nest?
I'd like to :) I'll be working on taking this comparison to that next level when I can.
@@AutomateYourLife or best wireless/ battery operated
Are there any good local-only doorbells?
I guess my question is...what's "local-only" mean?
- 3 of these can keep footage stored in your home locally. Only Google has to send offsite. Yes even Ring has an option for that.
- They all require access to their web services in order to keep your feed secure when you want to look at your doorbell when away from home.
- You can review footage off of the local storage in your home if that's where you're storing it.
Hope that helps!
@@AutomateYourLife thanks for responding!

What about a good peephole door bell camera?
There really aren't many Raymond. EZVIZ has one, and Ring has theirs. Those are the only two I've really seen to date.
Well done. Useful. I will get the Aqara
Enjoy it!
If Google had local storage, the market would be cornered. I agree!
Wish you would have included eufy, but great video!
Thanks! And yeah, Eufy is one I thought about...but they've had the privacy and security concerns and have actually said they'd give me info and respond, but then haven't. So I'm a bit worried about what's happening with them.

Do you pay for Blink cloud subscription or do you run solely off sync module2?
This is an excelent video, you earned a sub
Awesome, thank you!
Don’t you get animal detection etc with HomeKit integration?
I don't think so, but I don't use it a lot!
LOOKING 4 A SMART DOORBELL WITH PLUG N CHIME AND SD SLOT CAN U HELP WITH THAT NOT THE FLOW
It's in the video!

Any thoughts on Skybell by Honeywell?
Honestly...I see too many Skybells not working. Also, many people have told me they don't work on their home. So, I've been avoiding them personally!
What if the battery dies?
Does the camera link to your phone?
Is it a motion camera?
Can someone just rip it off?
Why do you need a camera?
Does it actually make noise inside the house.
So many questions
Most of that's answered in the video
I'll have to disagree with that ranking on detection. My motion sensitivity is set on 6 (9 being the highest) and I get notifications when a car goes past my house. Even got a notification when it was just the wind blowing. I might have to set it to 5 to see if it makes a difference. And it's actually about $40 on Amazon right now
If you’re happy, great!
Which one are you talking about?
How do you get notifications when you’re not at home?
They come through the app on your phone with these
If you connect your Aqara G4 to Apple Homekit with Homekit Secure Video you also get; face recognition (also from your photo library), animal detection, vehicle detection and package detection ;). Detection zones also..
You do get Face Recognition there, yep. I don't have animal, vehicle, or package detection or zones though.
