Just installed mine today and I love it!! There has been some firmware updates so there is now a setting for detection people/humans. My only peeve is that it is not indicated on the instructions or on Amazon’s description that the initial battery charge takes 5-10 hours! After about 3 hrs of waiting I finally googled and found that info. So, please tell people to charge it up overnight before beginning install! App works great! There seem to be many new features since your review. Just paired it with my Echo Show 5 so now I can see who’s at the door via that as well! Very happy with my new set up!! Stock peephole just wasn’t cutting it. Had searched elsewhere and was so happy to find Ring’s version!! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you for his review. It helped me in making sure I wanted to buy it for my condo. And I just did on Amazong. It's like $80 right now. Great video. Thanks again!
Thank you for making this video! I'm moving to a new place and would like to have some kind of 'security' as far as being able to see activity outside my home, especially when I'm not home. Lots of great information here- I look forward to watching your other videos!
Great vid! thnx u! ur Awesome!! I been undecided about the Next doorbell for my upgrade: Ring Doorbell Gen 1. I am going to buy the Peephole cam for my upgrade. thnx to U!
Great review of the Ring Door View Cam, I am waiting on Ring to send me out this as a replacement! I currently own a Ring Doorbell Pro which has developed a fault, so I will be downgrading from Mains power to battery! Which I honestly don’t mind, as I will gaining 1 unique feature which is the Knock Detection which will be extremely useful when I get deliveries like Amazon etc which don’t always Ring my Doorbell, as I will be repurposing my Peephole and be putting it to good use by installing this Ring Door View Cam! 😊👍
*Before I purchased this Eufy **do7.pl/eufy** I bought two Ring's and called my friend he said send them back as he has one and said he has zero idea how they have a 4 star rating with over 43K reviews. I swent back online canceled my order and purchased the Eufy. The install was as easy as the Google Nest. Easy, self diagnosing unit that makes install a breeze. I ended up having to replace the doorbell transformer. I guess I was not quite getting the 16V needed. I did check with my multimeter and it said 16.01V, but I am guessing it was not a strong signal.I learned quick about these transformers and spent 3 + hours trying to find mine. Sadly i found our it was installed in the wall, yes inside the drywall and I was not going to mess with it. I climbed into the attic cut the wires coming from the front and rear door well, spliced into my electrical and hooked up the new transformer. Bam it works. The quality of the video is 10/10 - the 2K quality is quite amazing. The sound quality also is great and I get my alerts to my phone. I am very very satisfied with this unit and I know I can make so many adjustment. I will be buying another soon for the back door. Please note this is a 16V hard wired unit, I did have to drill holes into my brick and relocate the doorbell since conventional door bells are small switches that normally are attached to the door frame. It does take a little bit of time, but it is worth it!*
Gabe, great review thanks! I have installed this product on a rental property to monitor when vacant, but can options and settings be transferred to tenant’s phone while occupied?
I assume when you look in the peep hole at the door you are looking through the camera right (i.e., no separate peep hole lens)? Also does the speaker work at the door, i.e., can you "talk through the door" while at the door? I am asking about functionality without using the app on your phone. You said also chimes we door bell button pushed and only need additional ring chime of have large house, right? Thanks!
Hi Carl, I'm not exactly sure what you mean- the camera covers the peephole on the outside of the door, so you'll still look through your regular peep hole as normal, you'll just also be able to see via the Ring app remotely. The speaker will be on the camera itself, so they'll be able to hear it as it's on the visitor side. And yes, that's right about the chime. Here's my written review for more info: bit.ly/2WRsX2A
I did, but it also depends on a number of factors like your local weather and the activity the camera captures. More info on this video doorbell here: bit.ly/2WRsX2A
It does not. The only video doorbell I've found that supports HomeKit is the Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell which unfortunately isn't available yet but you can check it out here: www.netatmo.com/en-us/security/doorbell If that doesn't work, here's a list of the best video doorbells around- bit.ly/31nBWw2

I understand that this device's motion detector does not do well if you have a glass door in front of the main door with peep hole. Will there be an upgrade to make it more sensitive?
I don't think so- motion detection uses pir sensors (which sense body heat), so they normally don't work though glass. If you have a glass door, I would recommend putting a video doorbell on the outside of your house, or use an outdoor camera. Here's a list of the best outdoor cameras of 2019- bit.ly/2JeoKlQ
With the operative words being door bell, if the Amazon system is off for any reason, do you still have an audible door bell that can be heard in the apartment or by the doorbell ringer, or would that person physically have to knock on the door?
Yes, there's a feature called privacy zones so you can exclude certain areas so that you won't be notified- ideal for excluding a neighbor's property from view. More info on my written review- bit.ly/2WRsX2A
how fast is it between someone ringing my door and me seeing the video feed on an echo show 5, for example? what if I want to trigger the camera from my phone without the bell being rung - how fast does it show the feed then? much appreciated
Yep, as long as your regular door has a peephole that the storm door doesn't block and there's enough space for this video doorbell- it measures 0.87" thick so that shouldn't be a problem. More info on the Ring Door View cam here: bit.ly/2WRsX2A
I was asking if there is an option in the settings which would allow you to turn off the doorbell. Just curious because I sometimes work night shift and sleep during the day

MAKE SURE before ordering this device you measure your door. I just made the mistake of getting the peephole cam and my door is too thin. It will not tighten up properly. I’m having to go to Lowe’s and find some wood to makeshift something. It would take way too long to send the device back and wait for a refund to get another type. 😤😭
Great video, thanks for this review. I was wondering, does this door view cam offer options to change the ringtone right from the app instead buying the Ring Chime which is an additional expense? Is it also possible to cut off the sound at the ring door when someone taping the ring button and only leave the sound inside home? Also Ring says that there are additional expenses with monthly subscriptions to be able to save or film live, if not subscribed can we still see who rings at your door and take a snapshot or quick video?
