@@SharanMarepally that's the one, I haven't used stasis in a year and I couldn't be bothered to check its name lol. Can't edit it now though got that like off Cammy😂
Here's something to remember: Devour's max base duration is 11 seconds, whether it be from the fragment (Echo of Starvation), aspect (Feed the Void) or Secant Filaments. When paired with Echo of Persistence, the aspect and fragment max out at 15 seconds, while Secant Filaments max out at 22 seconds. However, when casting your rift, you are given 17 seconds when using Echo of Persistence, and 11 seconds when not. A rift's duration is 15 seconds. This may make it advantageous to not run Echo of Persistence, as you can dip back into your rift to get a new devour going. Alternatively, if you are running Persistence, you can cast your rift early while still having devour, wait for it to run out, and walk out of your rift and back into it to get a new devour going.
I actually have both roles here, surplus absolutely feels better but if you’re play style means that you are using your abilities all the time (like mine), having on-kill abilities can really help out
Mathematically correct hunter with 3 mobility in exchange for high other stats. Using dragon’s shadow for +5 and other lightweight weapons for +2. Bottom tree arcstrider for faster sprint speed. Killing wind also gives +5 for its duration. Moving target isn’t a bad idea, either. Edited to add the main strength of this build: In the right hands, I have a feeling that my build will be terrifying to play against, as you can literally switch from being in a lane with high resilience and recovery to pushing the enemy very quickly. You have a passive playstyle initially, because you can’t just instantly reposition your way around the enemy. Most times, you’ll have to focus on winning duels. But you can push the enemy whenever you activate killing wind with a kill or see some other opportunity to make a breakthrough. And not wasting points getting 10 mobility and constantly having to deal with annoyingly high jumps and far sliding distance makes for a rush of euphoria when you activate your dodge and break the ankles of someone who thought your strafe was initially slow. As for the benefits that come along with this dodge, they’re the most in the game second to wormhusk and classy restoration, being: Drastically further slide distance, faster strafe and movement speed, instantly reloading all weapons, a “perfect” time window where you have huge damage resistance (thanks to bottom tree arcstrider) and maxing out handling with pretty much all weapons for the duration of wraithmetal mail. Not including getting your melee back with gambler’s dodge.
Might be dumb question, but does dragon shadow and lightweight actively count toward a higher mobility stat? Like if i specced T3 mob but had DS(+5), does that allow same regen as if i were at T8?
@@TeamTechSkaters Well, if it does, you’ll likely see the most benefits while sprinting. Keep in mind that “Focused Breathing” is also on bottom tree arc. I forgot to mention it, but after a moment of sprinting, you’ll have increased dodge regen speed until you stop. So if you need to rotate quickly with your team, you can.
Happy to see that you are feeling better, Cammy. Plus you really seem to enjoy D2 again compared to a couple of weeks ago; it’s nice to hear you all excited again on that front 😁
I’m pretty sure that if you are standing in the rift and devour goes away it instantly gives it back. I’ve seen a clip of it. It doesn’t normally come up because if you run persistence and get a kill then the devour timer is longer than the rift itself, so it never re-procs. But this means that you wouldn’t need to wait for devour to go away to activate your rift

That wombo combo from Duo Titan against enemy Titan is so beautiful, one Titan freeze the enemy then the other finishes with the slam. Rare gaming moment.

You can refresh devour by stepping back into your empowering rift but it only works if you DONT run the aspect that extends devour which is kinda counter intuitive lol
Dying to a weapon like Izanagi's that's known to be way more popular in PvE (especially when you die in your super) has got to be one of the most demoralising things that could happen to someone in Crucible lol
I've had a killing wind kill clip Stars since the gun came out, first drop of it, and I've never been that lucky since. The gun has always been underrated, simply due to lack of availability. Now that we get multi perk drops? I expect way more of these to make an appearance
I’ve loved Stars and Shadow forever but I feel like it just was always outclassed by Messenger, after the desperado nerfs I feel like it can compete a lot better. The thing has some nutty roles firmly planted or killing wind plus kill clip or headseeker
exotic kinetic slot pellet double barrel shotgun with two in the mag, an aggressive frame that shoots as fast as a rapid fire, and it's reload is similar to duality
If Filaments gave you the extra rage of Lunafaction it'd be goated but I guess giving you Devour plus throwing a chilf would certainly be a power trip too but for warlocks.
I have a question I'd love to know: If these builds you're experimenting with are so effective, is anything stopping you from employing them in the competitive scene? Are there other builds that cover more options, thereby invalidating the experimental ones? I'd love to hear your thoughts on that. Thanks for making such enjoyable videos!
In competitive too many things are banned, exotics, weapons, even some aspects and fragments. They just use the META aka easy weapons to get advanyage from.
You keep mentioning how good bastion is, but I thought it was dead after the nerf. Can you do a video on it to explain under what circumstances its strong and why you'd use it over other options?
Definitely weird questions but I wanted to start up a conversation on that subject as I was inspired by the video. This is not a criticism. Why is it that a 340 is so successful at dueling if over 50% of your engagements are 3 bursts or more to a kill? Shouldn’t that make something more forgiving like a 390 more successful, or is it simply the potential for a 2 burst that makes it better at dueling? It’s hard to take the variables out of the equation but would you success in that build be just as effective on anomaly with a 180 hc?
He runs an empowering rift, meaning that if he stands in his rift it's much easier to hit a two burst. In addition, during team engagements, high burst damage is usually better than rapid fire damage, especially during this healing meta.
@@justsomewalrus9923 I don’t think we are on the same page. I should have gotten more specific with my questions. The root of what I’m asking is: is the potential for a quicker kill the main driving force behind choosing a weapon that is realistically achieving a slower ttk 50% of the time in the hands of a 1% pvp player. Is that what separates 340s from 120s? Do you see where I’m coming from? Hence why I brought up a 180 on anomaly.
