The drop chance between Legend and Master is estimated to be a very minor percent. It's been that way since Beyond Light dropped which stinks. It's roughly 20% chance on Legend, 24% on master or something dumb. I wish it was more guaranteed...
Edit: it's been mentioned in replies a couple times now that it's 25% and 33% or something closer to that. The point remains.
Should be 40-50% on master at least.

At least 40 since it's much harder for the average player to get then afterwards it's going for a good roll while dealing with bad luck and other exotics dropping.

hows the exotic drops? The last chest day I got 7 severance enclosure back to back. I was fishing for a better cuirass so as you can imagine pretty shitty day for me
Just want to mention that Caliban's is still currently bugged and only applies Scorch stacks to one target (introduced in Update 4.1.5). Once that gets fixed, it should be more reliable in PVP.

I like what you said in the stream about getting 5 or so individual knife kills instead of hunting for the 5-piece with Caliban’s.
I have had some fun with calibans, and while they have nearly unmatched flashy clip potential, i feel way more useful on a young ahamkara’s spine. While they don’t have the same 6k potential, i feel like they have a way higher uptime. Maybe its just my personal comfort but the tripmine is helpful so often that it feels way better for me.

Might also depend on your loadouts as well. If you play more mid to midlong than you'll definitely have more uptime with Ahmkaras, but if you play in close and can get the gamblers dodge off frequently then your uptime on Caliban's goes up.
idunno why you guys are talking about "up time." just get the kill with the knife and it refunds. pretty fuckin easy. smh.

I hope they implement in the future the ability to farm for specific exotics because I have a few things I would like to get better rolls or different rolls but dont have the time to invest in it.
They already did.. Xur Each weekend sells specific drops Like Tempest helmet last time!

This is the type of video players need to see before calling something busted. Just about every clip being posted always show the ONE multi-kill they got after multiple attempts on a bunched-up group camping a corner or not paying attention to their radar while capping a zone, and while using the Solar Fulmination mod. Caliban's are strong, not as strong as Young Ahamkara's Spine, but Fulmination is what makes them seem overpowered. Been using them without Classy and Fulmination (same set-up on my class item as what Cammy had), the difference is night and day.
Ability focused exotics will always be less than neutral exotics. Why warlocks have so many crazy abilities and the most used are ttd abilities.
I use these without fulminiation and if you get a kill beside a yellow bar it still pops like fulminiation bugged maybe idk also if you are accurate with your knife toss this is hunters most fun exotic in pve its pretty nasty in pvp to but with it being bugged right now and not spreading scorch unless it gets a kill I don't recommend it in pvp
And this is why I think the destiny community is biased people will watch a video and complain, but have you experienced this a lot in crucible or nah? That doesn’t matter a Titan can just crash into your team and wipe them with dunes and it’s still just as strong as a super but the community says nothing bungie does nothing titans still busted.

Since I’m not a hunter main, I’m used to not running stompees or gemini, or stuff like that. So caliban’s hand is insane for me. I’ve gotten a ton of 4 pieces with it, a 5 piece and a one fell swoop in IB.

Keep in mind that these are still bugged and will only apply scorch to 1 target that your knives AOE hits, which definitely makes them feel less consistent than they should be.
Sadly this. The pve fix made for a pvp nerf unfortunately. They're still usable in pvp, but less effective than they are currently. Any form of knife death (impact, splosion, or even scorch) would get the ignition and cause others to go boom and or spread scorch. Being locked to one target now is poopy..

For general crucible play they do feel less impact full overall than most of the neutral game exotics, but for game modes like capture point trials and specifically rift, I found I could steal a large number of rounds by grabbing a random teamwipe when they weren't paying attention for a second
Hey Cammy, this is a combo I have not seen any big youtuber cover. If you run ember of Ashes, Char and Solar Fulmination, your ignitions will cause ignitions on people that have 0 scorch stacks on them. I'm talking about people getting caught in the ignition radius getting 100 scorch stacks applied to them and instantly igniting. It only works with Solar Fulmination, so it's only around this season, but I think this can help you enjoy your time with Calibans, or any other ignition build for any class, much better. You can also try and run this with Skyburners Oath hipfire and Weighted Throwing Knife (instantly ignites any scorched target on hit, skyburners applies scorch with its hipfire) but this combo is a bit clunky in PvP.

funny thing is when I farmed an arms lost sector, I wanted athrys embrace because I wanted to do cool knife trickshots. It decided to give me calibans, and here cammys experiencing the opposite lmao.
I'm so glad you showed this. So many people think that you get the new exotic first time automatically upon completion just because there rng was good. Got in arguments telling them everyone's rng is different and it could take many attempts. The most I've had was about 11 runs before getting the new exotic.

I've been working a build with Calibans Hand, BXR w/Blunt Execution Rounds and Emperical Evidence w/Swashbuckler.
Become Radiant proximity knife damage and proc Blunt Execution Rounds or proc Swash with a kill.
Then even more damage Font of Might solor weapon boost.
I'm unsure if HIGH ENERGY FIRE, FONT OF MIGHT, and BLUNT EXECUTION ROUNDS can all proc at the same time
high energy and font don’t work together but the both stack with blunt execution

Still don’t understand how I can get the exotic I want first or second run literally 100% of the time on legend. Maybe it’s cuz I use near every respawn and rngeezus takes pity on me.
I literally just got it right now on my 1st or 2nd try on legendary. I have never had trouble getting the exotics on legendary ever.
Yeah I've gotten the last 6 new exotics in the first 3 or 4 tries on legend lol i was suprised he was going dry often
I've been messing with the Titan version of this which is to run Peregrine Greaves with Hammer Strike, Hammer Strike causes Ignite on final blows an Peregrine makes it a 1-shot (Or at least close to it, it feels inconsistent at times.) so you can give someone the Knee of Justice and kick their exploding corpse right into the enemy team.
My pairing for this is to run this with Skyburner's which really benefits from the +20 AE and lets you take accurate jump shots since it now has a total AE of 65, and then I run Incendiary Grenade which applies 90 Scorch and only need two follow up shots from Skyburner's hipfire to cause an Ignition, so now you have two independent ways of Igniting someone consistently.
This is probably more of a pubstomp build and probably not as viable in Trials, but even messing around in Comp for a bit I was getting some success with it, the key is to not ape the Hammer Strike too hard and more of treat it like an Uno Reverse in your back pocket when someone tries to get aggressive on you around a corner, if you try to chase for it people will just backpedal and gun you down. (Believe me I have to fight the constant Titan urge to just run straight at people to try and kick them in the teeth.)
I got one with a fantabulous strength roll. Plus I ran it with Drang with enhanced Wellspring and Incandescent. Get a knife hit, pull out the drang. And because of the artifact mod (even without) i can spread so much scorch/ignite so many guardians and ads with this combo. And even if I miss, i can regen my knife as it sticks and Wellspring can cut it super quick given how Drang by itself is fantastic
At the 13:15 min mark or so I agree, I acknowledge Caliban's can be very flashy and lethal as hell especially when piling in Scorch stuff like Skyburner's and all that, but it's one of those situations where even with the intrinsic you gain energy when your knife is just sitting, it really a bit awkward when you gotta reset the whole loop or don't get anywhere close to the intended threatening chain explosion.
I'd rather just keep it simple with Ahamkara's Spine womboing, (as you said) Gemini's ripping radars, and other things in play but I wouldn't be annoyed if a teammate in a 3s had it on their guy.
I came back to say that I've been using this build and I saw an instant increase in kpg. Another insane exotic combo, especially with fusions? I never would have though to combo them

No capping, This is me when I was trying to get a decent stat roll on Nothing Manacles before Void 3.0 because I loved scatter grenades with Devour to hell and back
I got a decent pair of Aspect but other than that I got nothing useful.
Solo LS is still one of the best ideas from BL which I take for granted but holy hell RNG is unforgiving sometimes.
Glad I'm not the only one whose RNG turns it's broken head from us.

Throw some sticky nades on a titan, let them shoulder charge in or ballistic slam a zone!
I felt the same way about it, I felt I was playing the entire time to try and get it to work instead of playing to win and when I did there was rarely anybody else around them. I like something that I can use in almost any situation where I don't have to spend the entire match searching for an opportunity. The one exception was Iron Banner/rift. I got quite a few multis with a few slayers and reapers and Banberfall specifically as everybody was funneling out the door under the awning thing going to the spark location. I got a couple team wipes in Trials as well but it was against not that great teams and didn't happen NEAR enough to warrant the exotic slot for me there. So outside of rift on Bannerfall I don't think I'll be using these anymore, especially after the solar fulmination artifact mod is gone next season.
The trick is to do it ASAP in a season!
Trying to get an Omni with stats above 61 and after doing chest farming, still hasn't dropped in 60 runs! No Omnis at all!

The Revitalizing Blast mod makes champions ignite when you stun them. its an absolute game changer. I highly highly recommend using it before the season ends
This video remember the day that I friend went after the Cuirass of the Falling Star for his titan, he didn't have any other exotic chest and got EVERY single one of them before getting the Cuirass, it was litteraly the last exotic to drop

Caliban knife only scorches one target in a group. This is a known bug they plan to fix. So it’ll be able to ignite groups better when they do
Cammy you should do a solar 3.0 build using bombardier and trapper nades/melee for the ultimate aggressive keep the ball rolling build

Interestingly, if you shoot the knife before an enemy detonates it, you keep the improved regen
I just spent half an hour trying to get dawn chorus thinking that no exotic after 5 runs was a lot and then I saw this. I’m now worried about my future attempts
Dawn chorus is reported to be bugged which cause it not to drop.
I once did 120 run of a lost sector trying to get a starfire protocol. I got every other exotic chest piece to drop multiple times and no starfire.
I've already got three of them, but they are pretty good for sure. Put a couple of stasis Melee Kickstarts helps the Proximity Knife come back pretty fast
My fave combo will always b tripmine with proxy. Using the spine
this is why I haven't gotten a single new exotic armor that drops since fucking falling star

Once the scorch bug in PVP gets fixed these will get a little better. I like running Young Ahamkaras and when the enemy drops a Well, I just swap to Caliban's from cover and nuke the Well. Easiest super to kill with these.

The trick is to not play on that character for a few days.
Then go in on that exotic day. They’ll then usually drop within one or two runs.
Just got my hands in one run. And hadn’t played on my hunter since last week.
There fun in mayhem with a strength build. Almost infinite knifes to trap doorways
And they wonder why “Johnny Dayjobs” like myself are picking up the game less and less. They don’t respect the players time. It would take me WEEKS to do that many runs.

Well, he was running a decently sized lost sector and on master so it took longer. Wait for a legend EDZ one for easy 2-3 minute runs
How long do you play, like 30 minutes a week, even Johnny day jobs would go faster than you, and that’s on master
He’s not really being optimal. These are never worth doing on master. Way more efficient to do in legend
Using Calibans as a trickery tool can be fun and its kinda what I saw when you played. The multi kill attempts where there but it mostly ended up being bait and switching in tight areas.
And well, if you gonna do trickery, why not use Gemini? Makes sense that you don't vibe with this for now. But perhaps in the future something will change.
I do like what Calibans allows you to do though in terms of flexibility. Its powerful, yet not oppressive. Whoever designed these did a great job!
I did that lost sector 1 time and got Caliban's hand with 2 strength. I did another lost sector 1 time, got a nice pair of Stompies. Even on other characters, the most I've ever had to farm a lost sector is 3-4 times before a drop. RNG is RNG, still don't have eyes of tomorrow
on my 18 run for cuirass if the fallen star for arc 3.0 next season. rng is a bitch

If this was recorded after the patch where they fixed it to proc better in pve. Than that's why it seems underwhelming. That patch introduced a bug where the knife can only scorch one target.
It used to get way more consistent multikills and team wipes.

Ultimately the question I have, is did you have fun with it? Even if it's not as fun as some of the other stuff, it seems neat.
id be interested to see if TLW would work well in a build with these. it would give you similar versatility as dmt with less range, which you could make up for with a snipe and focus strength and discipline for better neutral game.

a buddy of mine and myself used calibans and stasis in trials, id throw a duskfield and a shuriken and he'd throw a knife, worked surprisingly well and if they were still alive or something like that I would bakris in and finish them with a glaive or primary
Figured this out earlier this week but Cal hand with Trinity ghoul and Tripmins are amazing , but scatter Grenade works too

Feel bad on this one. Did 7 runs of arms LS last week and got 6 exotics, all ones I needed too
Since the release of lost I’ve been at the grind for a good manacles still no luck. I’m beyond light I did the same with Astrocyte and got it around the release of splicer. Rng seems to have got worst.
My first or second pair of Manacles was a really good roll, but I don't use the things. I don't like the look or feel of scatter grenades in D2 compared to 1. They're good gauntlets though
Scorch and ignition are not very good without certain fragments and seasonal mods. There needs to be a buff to help it in the long run.
Scorch should last longer when closer to ignition levels, and last less when it's like in the 1 - 45 levels of Scorch.
Ignitions that kill scorched enemies should cause more ignitions, and should spread Scorch by default. The fragment that does that should be changed to something else.
Solar also needed something else for the debuff department. Void has volatial, suppressed, and weakened. Stasis has slowed, frozen and shatter. Solar has Scorch and ignition, something like primed that would make any stack of Scorch ignite, or burnt which would lower damage output.
Solar seemed to be less tuned than void.
7 hours over 4 different days trying to farm better Osmiomancys than the collections roll Ikora gave me and still nothing to show for it. They sure do love to give Sunbracers and Winter's Guile after 5-8 legend runs though.

Dude I've got so many I have literally multiple rolls. But on the flip side I got like 12 horrors least and not a single kill clip drop. Ever since the last update though, I have trouble activating the perk. I'll throw both the knife and the grenade, see the different damage values, but no boom. I've also had the issue where guardians are in a well and I do the thing, see and hear the damage (250 with ignition) but no kill at all. I think they're currently bugged.
