As a sherpa, I'll take the guy who makes me explain it 5 times over the guy who says they know what they're doing but clearly doesn't and isn't willing to admit it and learn.
I've heard this so many times now from so many Sherpas that I consider it absolute canon.
A lot of runs are ruined by them because they insist on sticking to their roll, which they suck at.

I remember getting my Vex catalyst the same night I got the weapon and I can't explain in words how awesome our Sherpa was. The dude had all of my kills in a year (440,000 kills) on Vex, so maybe it was the passion. I wish I had him for all my first time raid experiences.
I feel for the untrainables. I had one good sherpa then one bad one who ruined my reputation for the sake of his ego. Hopefully there are more patient ones than the people I had.
I get it, there are Sherpas and then there are Sherpas!
Destiny needs a verified Sherpa program.

As a titan main and former peregriner, i can confirm that the funny one shot melee in crucible does activate the few neurons that still exist in my smooth crayon filled titan brain

as a sherpa, it truly is a labor of love. but people get on my nerves and i have to keep my calm as i explain for the 8th time how to do the simplest things ever
As a sherpa, you'll never know true patience until you try and run a div quest for someone stoned out of their melon. My longest run was 8 hours...I don't do div runs very often
Same but the stoner didn't open the div chest, idk why because chest opening is kind of important. Which we discovered after exiting to tower because we assumed his character was full. He didn't get the gun. I now verbally tell people to open the dang chest and go through the roster for individual confirmation too.
I have mad respect for any Sherpas and Rafflers out there. Sherpas are/can be the D2 equivalent of those wonderful teachers in high school that explain everything so fluidly it just clicks and they end up being your favourite.
Rafflers get the utmost respect because they've got good personality. You have good people, then up the mountain you got the sweats that can be pretty toxic. But then you ascend into the clouds and you get people who carry on Trials. They're so freaking good and they're not obliged to help anyone but they do it anyway. I got with a Trials carry team once, very nice German guy I think, and I thanked him so hard. He replied "No problem man. After all, what's the point of having all this skill if I can't help anyone with it." And that's stuck with me.

Hello. Lone Wolf and D1 vet here. I love to reward my pubbies by thanking them at the end of every activity. That emote will stayed glued to my keys no matter what. I've met so many genuinely good new lights that just need a strong boost to help lay down the crowd control. I hope they do well, they just need the gear and perks and a little experience to find their groove.

I'm pretty much the lone wolf, aside from the endgame. I've done pretty much everything up to dungeons and raids and now I'm sorta at a loss. All my attempts to solo grasp end at the ogre. Sucks since the endgame armor looks so cool.

The Sherpa and stoner are interchangeable whenever im playing. Turns out stoned people are REALLY good sherpas

Sherpaing got way easier since i started explaing strats using bullet points instead of explaining the strat
-We clear
-Taniks is going to move to a spawn
-we destroy the engines
-we grab the balls dropped and head towards the other spawns
-the supress stuns Taniks
-the op frees anyone that's trapped
-we dunk the balls
-we all join "here" for DPS
-During last stand he tp's around the map from spawn to spawn
for other sherpas out there, try to do the same, a quick clear TL;DR of what to do and not why, people will get why themselves

I use what works for me.
One of my friends is the stoner type, it's amazing because when he isn't stoned he is very good at learning and will remember next time even if he is high, but when we do take him through raids since we insist on making him do the more intensive jobs (if available) it does take some time, but he tries his best.
Not that I blame him, high Destiny must be an experience.
Rolling at the D1 vet guy and the gameplay being from kings fall because that was my first time kings fall experience with a d1 guy doing his first d2 raid lol

During a run of Root of nightmares:
lfg blueberry: "oh yooooooo, there's the traveler! I thought we were inside a pyramid ship?"

Other guy on my team: "no, there's a fucking hole that you are looking through"
In raids specifically, I become a parrot. Callouts are made and I echo them out reflex. They probably don’t help, but they don’t seem to harm either. At least no one has complained to me about it yet😅
I kinda just realized how I've been playing a good 90 hours on pc, and I haven't seen a single human use blink. sooo beyond forgotten
I have a friend who absolutely refuses to play anything but gunslinger hunter with sunshot and fan of blades. I've tried to introduce him to other subclasses, weapons, mods, and armor. However, he rufuse to even try any of them and just sticks to his sunshot. He won't even take off his level 49 armor set. Even when he's getting high stat armor.

Funny thing is I have done twice KF space port jump puzzle on blink. I didn't find it too hard once you know how to control it. Daughters can frick right off though because that requires such consistency and control of blink by everyone it is unreal.

I know that in terms of LFG, things can go either or, but recently I had an experience with what I would consider to be a bad teacher in VOG. He said it was his first time teaching, but man he was bad. There was one guy who was learning, but he only explained 1 encounter to him and nothing else. He also had us do multiple cheeses, but just didn't know how to do them (Like skipping the Gorgon maze) and also didn't know about some mechanics like the shield user can block the Templars teleport. I also suggested some things a few times, but he completely ignored me.
Sherpas in D2 are awesome for putting up with being patient with New Lights (Something that I have yet to master) and help introduce new players into stuff like raids, but there are sometimes were people just shouldn't teach.

I'm unironically a different type of anti-meta, I will never use something like cloudstrike in cruciible, aisha's, lorentz, you get the clue. But I will find things that work really well like collective or outbreak for pvp that people don't often use and they still work a dream. Got many nice kills in trials because of something like the SIVA nanites to stop a revive or the suppress and weaken from collective to shut down a roaming super.

i dont know if you got this allready, but i am the type who has hundreds of hours just playing strikes, bounties and story missions just to get lvl 100 on the seasonpass, then quit for the rest of the season xD
