Wait for a week for the rdo to have responded to your application online, in the query session, if not replied, call your RDO or his office number and make an enquiry about the next step. Each RDO is following in their style, if possible make a visit to the RDO office too.. finally remember, RDO will provide a acknowledgment number, which is the final step.. but the law does not insist that such number is mandatory for filling petitions, in most cases I have seen, RDO don't provide any number, but for Chennai region they do it,.. if any body had received acknowledgment number, pls share about it..👍

there is no such guidance like this in the law, but it is the RDO's own decision to ask both of them come once, so that he can make his job quicker.
