I really appreciate these tutorials. Civ 6 is great but it gets overwhelming so fast. Not knowing why to do I just start moving my army units around the map. Your tutorials helped me to take a first step towards understanding how deep the strategy of this game is and how fun it is to conjure up a plan and see itcome to fruition. Thank you and keep up the good work !
Thank you so much for taking the time to say so, I really appreciate it! Civilization games are my favourite of all time, I'm really happy I could get you enjoying. Cheers!
I haven't played a Civ since Civ 4. I bought this game the other day and quickly realized I have no idea what's going on anymore. Just watch your videos and they have been a great help! I'm looking forward to accidently wasting a whole day playing Civ again!
So I've got about 100hrs into Civ 6, won a few games, but this series has still been very useful to me. You explained things that other guides didn't and in a really clear way. I feel like I actually understand what I'm doing now so much better.
As always, love to read messages like this! Helping people understand and enjoy this wonderful game was the goal of doing this series, so everytime I hear from someone letting me know I've hit home is fantastic!
God thank you so much, some other RUclipsrs move wayyy too quickly and water down the education with too many jokes or assuming everyone knows little things, I needed this to understand what’s really happening, thank you
I bought this game years ago and loved it, but I was so bad at it that I eventually gave up. I recently picked it up again and looked up some guides, your basics series was by far the most comprehensive, thank you. Now to find your more advanced tutorials
Just got done watching all your beginners tutorials. Can’t help but feel like I’m cheating the game or taking shortcuts but just like you said these are BASICS. Saves me the time of reading all encyclopedia tutorials which I hate doing. So thank you for making everything clear and informative. I was so happy to see Civ 6 on my PS Plus membership since I really enjoyed Civ 5.
NORMUL8OR YOU DO AN OUTSTANDING JOB OF TEACHING A VERY COMPLEX GAME !!! CIV GAMES AFTER CIV 4 HAVE BEEN GETTING A GREAT DEAL MORE COMPLEX!!! YOU ALMOST HAVE TO BE A LAWYER NOW TO UNDERSTAND THE GAME BY YOURSELF.CIV 4 WAS MY FAVORITE: UNLIMITED WAR, GREAT GRAPHICS AND SIMPLE RULES!!!
that is without saying THE VERY BEST tutorial I have found, I cant wait to play the game now, with all that detailed insight. Thank you so much Sir, you got me. Still plenty to see/ learn from you. all the best
As someone who has played Civ 5 and BE quite a bit a few years back, I really enjoyed this series and seeing how different civ 5/BE and 6 actually are. You convey those concepts so much clearer than the ingame tutorial or advisor help ever could. Thank you so much for doing this. Also, would you be willing to make a video breakdown/tutorial on the two expansion packs? So what changed and how exactly the added mechanics work? Since if it is anything like the expansions for Civ5 I'd wager it is quite a hefty change. I would very much appreciate that. And again, since it can't be said enough, thank you so much.
Just finished the third video of this tutorial. Will definitely tackle Civ VI with more confidence from now on. Will also be looking into your content to find more content in order to get better at the game and understanding its concepts on a deeper level. Thank you very much!
Thank you so much for doing these videos! I bought Civ 6 a while back without never having played any other game of the genre and was so overwhelmed. I tried the in-game tutorial but it wasnt that great, but after watching these videos I'm actually very excited to play and keep learning. Without you I would've never known how fun Civ actually is! Thanks a bunch! (btw, love how you explain stuff and you have a very soothing voice)

Great tutorial. Question: do you start a game with your win condition already in mind? Or do you start to think about it only when you're a couple hundred turns in?
I typically start out with an idea of what I want to do strategically in terms of a win condition but you don’t have to by any means. Particularly if you’re not worried about how many turns it takes to ‘win’ and you just want to enjoy a casual game. When I’ve done my sub 200 turn victory runs in the past I’ve always had a good idea of the plan on turn 1. 👍

There are gov’t cards you can use to increase the rate that resources accumulate. Of course expanding quickly to more land (I have a tutorial for that) will generally give you more copies as well. Also, if you are suzerain of a city state you acquire their strategic as well as luxury resources, so if you’re having particular problems you could target a specific city state that has what you’re looking for. If it is next to the city it is working. Remember that it only works with melee class weapons. So horse units don’t benefit. You’ll notice when you hit that the health of the walls will drop a lot because all of the hit power is going to the walls and none are going to city center. Remember that all melee units adjacent to city get benefit of using battering ram even if not on same tile as the ram itself.
I wish I understood the point of this game ;( just making the tiles more valuable or working the tiles? I am excited for Humankiund in 2021 - Do they offer an Alpha?

Naval warfare is undoubtedly the weakest aspect of my Civ game. That being said it would make for a good tutorial and I’d imagine plenty of interest so I will put it on the list for sure!
with the 50 light years thing its not "magic" persay the rocket is using a solar sail which catches solar energy and converts it into usable energy to propel the object its attached to. the whole idea pretty sci fi at the moment
I guess my question would be how are the lazers catching up to something that is many light years away and travelling at many times the speed of light? 😅

You mentioned a "roll" during combat, is there some randomness that happens during combat?
There is a mild amount of variability that occurs during combat. Usually just a couple hit points plus or minus.
thanks for the tutorial,
can i ask how to get more resources faster? i really frustrated cant upgrade or create more better troops with a few resources
I will say this, while strategic resources do limit army sizes for the player they are doing the same for the AI. Particularly on high difficulties where the AI used to spam units before there was requirements. It was no fun getting turn 80 knight rushed by the deity AI trust me. They’d come with 8 or 10 of the bastards! It was actually a pretty big nerf to the AI tbh.
