Hey Josh, this is D Hurtado. Thank you for featuring my video and for bringing this to light. Thank you for the support, and I also want to thank everybody that has commented on my incident.
First, I want to make clear that I've never been arrested nor do I have an ounce of a criminal record whatsoever. Sadly, this same officer, now a sergeant, knows exactly who I am because, in a different incident not that long ago, also two blocks from the home I bought 31 years ago and where I've lived since, he saw me stepping into someone's property and made my life a living hell for an hour and a half. He first screamed at me at the top of his lungs to stop right there and not move. He then proceeded with an illegal detention, demanding I empty out my pockets and stand there without being allowed to sit for over an hour and a half. He accused me of breaking into this property despite how many times I told him that I knew the owner and that the owner, now an actual commissioner in the City of West Miami City Hall, had given me permission to enter the property to pick up a desk he gifted me because it was a desk I really liked and the owner knew this because I've known the owner and the entire family for almost 30 years. He ran my name; he did every search you can imagine on me. That's why I'm surprised he didn't know that I've never been arrested before, considering I'm sure those are the results he got when he ran my name through the system. Of course, I'm sure he felt like a jackass a few hours later when the owner told him I had 100% permission to be there. He let me go but only with the repeated threat that when he confirms that I am lying, he's going to personally arrest me in my own home because, of course, he knows I live just two blocks away. But before he let me go, he made me unload this heavy desk from my truck and didn't allow me to take it. Unfortunately, this desk I wanted so bad and that was technically already mine got taken by the trash department the next day :(
Here's more: not too long before that incident, I was physically assaulted with bruises on my neck, also by the West Miami Police Department, for riding my bike at night. In this incident, I was frisked so hard that it left bruises on my neck, which I documented with pictures. I was detained and grossly humiliated, including inappropriate sarcastic remarks that singled out my sexual orientation. This incident happened 100 feet from my home.
When I reached out to the chief about this incident, he told me these words, and I quote, with a witness next to me, "That he knows he's got a problem with his police officers, but there's nothing he could do about it."

For those of us that get off work at 1:00 am. It's normal, we even go grocery shopping after work like anybody else would. We may even go to the gym and work out if it's a 24-hour gym. Does not make it abnormal. Especially in places like Miami and New York where the people never sleep.
