You left out a pretty important fact that you have to start each mission from the very beginning for the skulls to appear. You cannot start at rally points.

The saddest part is I was bad enough to run out of frags, but got it when I used the plasma
@@odinssaga6837 ye plasma grenades work fine as well, I even used them for skipping shit on my legendary run.
The IWHBYD skull was found a long time after h3 release, and only when hackers looked at the games script.
It would be almost impossible to find it randomly.
I wonder how they found it in Halo 2.

In case anyone is wondering what the code for IWHBYD means, it's the last 6 notes of the Halo monk theme. if you count the larger numbers as higher notes and the lower numbers the lower notes, it makes sense.
It also means: "I Would Have Been Your Daddy"

I realize this is an old video, but I just wanted to say thanks. This was really helpful.
For anyone having trouble with the IWHBYD skull: I cleared the entire bridge area of enemies, I did the sequence shown in the video, I killed truth and all the flood and I made sure the Arbiter was standing right next to where you fall down. I wasn't getting it before this so I guess all of these parameters must be met.

Just got the skull and I think the most important part is having the arbiter standing by the exit (where you jump) because I had 2 enemies glitch out which would pop on my radar at the start of the ring jumping sequence but once I completed the sequence it still came up! So as long as the arbiter is waiting by the exit you should be fine!
i jist got it you have to jump in the rings in this order:
4, 6, 5, 4, 5 and 3

THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER AWESOME GUIDE! I want to say the BIGGEST HELP WAS HAVING THE ACROPHOBIA SKULL ON!!! It makes literally going through levels lighting fast, you don’t need to grenade jump literally at all for any of the skulls!

I (with the grunt birthday party skull) used a gravity lift to get it. just drop down, place it and fly up. all missions must be on normal or above

The skull "catch" on the mission 'the storm' doesn't require you to not damage the wraith. I destroyed it on my playthrough and was still able to get the skull. Hope that helps.

It disapears if you damage the normal wraith
I just now figured out how to get the Famine skull in a more easy way. When you're at the spot where the skull is use a Deployable Cover. Then jump on top of it, and jump to the pillar and grab the skull.

These, and all the Easter egg achievements are so easy now that you can fly.
Aren’t achievements disabled when the acrophobia skull is on? It’s a 0x multiplier
@@HendogYT Basic level completion, par score and par time achievements get disabled with 0x. Most others are fine :)

Achievement hunting for this game right now but the tilt skull gave me such a hard time, I kept hitting my head and falling back down.
At the area of the Thunderstorm Skull, it was the Arbiter telling you that there's no need to land.

For some reason, the only time the Catch skull spawned for me was when I destroyed the anti-air wraith. I went to the skull 4 times without damaging the wraith, but the skull did not spawn. If this happens to you try and kill the wraith and see if it spawns for you.
***** IWHBYD on halo 2 was more random than Catch on Halo 3 though

You should compile all the collectable/terminal guides for each game in to a video. Like all skulls/terminals/toys for halo 2 and put them in a video in order
On the storm it won't let me jump high enough to get on top to get the skull. Did exactly what he did.

Trying to do the catch skull on legendary was truly something else. I managed but only after tearing through my larynx numerous times

I gave up on easy, I swear to god i wanted to break my controller but no matter how many times I parked that warthog I didn't have enough jump height

@@LordWay yeah I've been at it for 4 hours and can't do it... crouch jumping doesn't work, grenade jumping doesn't worn or you get killed before you can even do it, same with piling vehicles... the tank blows em all up... but if you touch that tank the skull disappear... same with doing anything to any of the grunts in the ghosts....

IWHBYD is driving me crazy. Done it like 15 times exactly like you said. This is my second time going through the whole mission to get this skull.

I think it might be helpful to say that the skulls won't spawn if you start at a different rally point in the mission. I don't know if it's true for all of them, but when I was trying to get the Cowbell skull on The Ark, you have to start at the beginning of the mission on normal or harder for it even to show up.

Well i did just that but i cant see it
There's actually a second skull on the mission Cortana (doesn't give you a reward tho). It's in the big open room with the generator thing towards the end of the level. Basically all you have to do is get on top of a weapons container and grenade jump onto the ledge that surrounds the whole room. Carefully make your way around it until you find the skull
what skull is it?
It's not in the remastered version and the skull doesn't do anything in the original game it's just there

If you're having trouble with the famine skull, grab the RPG from the crashed pelican earlier on in the mission and do an RPG jump instead of a grenade jump. I did that and got it first try (after failing multiple times with a grenade).

For those having problems getting the Famine skull, get a chopper up there and it is super easy. I just did it.

friend got a ghost to the edge of the cliff side, I speed boosted the chopper over it, up onto the forerunner structure with the skull on it, jump ontop of the chopper, get the skull

Use a shield! It boosts you up.
Cowbell won't appear im in the top box but I'm in coop I hasn't affected any other skulls so why won't it appear

@@Hunter-yf7pk turns out I had to complete the campaign on normal then go back to the storm (no rally points) then when you enter the area where you have to kill the AA (Anti air) wraith (PS don't kill the original wraith but you can kill the AA wraith and the ghosts). Anyway use a warthog to get on top of the pillar with a crouch jump or grenade jump and the skull will be waiting for you :P

i believe that you have to activate the cut scene first. good luck :)
You have to start from the beginning of the mission, must be on normal, and you have to activate the bridge where truth dies

For the catch skull what happens if my soldiers do damage does it still disappear?
No. My soldiers shot the wraith but it did not disappear.

You have to crouch jump, and get rid of ghosts, and play it on normal or harder
get two people and jump set a warthog up one guy jumps on the hog the other guy jumps off that guy thats how i got it

I've done the IWHBYD about 8 times now and it won't work. I'm on Normal, started from the very beginning, and using the code you have in the video.

I said it in the video 4 times, and also put an on-screen text for it.
Also, check your achievements. Xbox Live has had problems. It might have unlocked but not popped.

Are you sure about the Catch skull? I made sure I didn't get the anti air wraith damaged and I drove exactly how you did it. But because I couldn't make the crouch jump I did I grenade jump but when I got up nothing was there.

As it was my first Halo 3 playthrough saying "bridge must be extended" for the IWHBYD skull wasn't informative, I tried it a couple times before I figured out that I needed to trigger the cutscene which extended the bridge and fight my way back through the flood. Worked fine after I figured it out.

This has to be done on Legendary mode, right? Because I tried picking up the first Skull on Sierra 117 on Normal and it didn't work. Then, I came back on Legendary and picked it up and it let me hold it.

were you playing on MCC or just using the Halo three disk? If it is the disk there is not an achievement for the blind skull.

What the actual fuck ! I have done it over and over I made sure the flood was dead and I did it properly I never had this problem on the 360 what am I doing wrong am I not allowed to jump unless it's through the ring

You need a bunch of real humans playing the game and stack the player or warhogs to get up there and you need to be on normal or harder and you need to start at the begin of the campaign.
Jump, then crouch.
For famine you can also use a brute shot, there are a bunch throughout the level.

Yeah,but keep in mind Xbox 360 doesn't have achievements for all skulls,it has some achievements,but not all.

just to let you all know, i tried for ages on the IWHBYD skull and finally figured out that you can NOT be crouch jumping through the rings. i jumped regularly and got it the first time.

Hey for anyone trying to get this in 2021 and onwards... You can use the 'acrophobia' skull to zoom across the map and fly to grab those hard to reach skulls. Its a really fun game modifier too lol. This skull disables most achievements like mission completions etc but works for the skull achievements :)
For the famine skull, instead of a grenade jump, I used the drop shield power up. I jumped on top of that drop shield and then crouch jumped from there to the skull.
