All the other RUclips’s show how to do it using iOS, the CrystalSky has a different screen configuration, and gets stuck when in the final stage of hook up. Thanks for your efforts here. I have made it all the way to adding google maps to Litchi on CrystalSky, though I have not yet been able to log in to google. That is required to use offline maps. Still I don't know if offline maps is even possible inside Litchi. I've contacted them, waiting on a response. A quick question, do you actually use Litchi with CrystalSky? Is that without internet connection? I'd love to make this work, I struggle with phone / tablet and dim screens. The lack of maps is troubling.

When trying to use the Google maps it requires you to have Google Play Service loaded. Is it possible to load Google Play Service and if so, what are the steps? Thanks
Yes but you have to go to apkpure.com and install by using an sd card and transfer from your computer to CrystalSky. The Google Play will not work but you just have to look for the google maps apk on apkpure.com and the google play services. The service will pop up every once in awhile telling you that the google play services has stopped but it keeps working with google maps and litchi. The controller will also ask you to choose what app do you want to use the Go 4 app or the Litchi app. I always select the app Just Once selection each time. When using the google maps you have to either have a mobile hotspot or cache the maps you want to use. To cache the maps you just use Litchi waypoints for the area you will be flying in when connected to WiFi, then leave Litchi and the CrystalSky on and travel to the area. If you turn off the CrystalSky monitor off the cache is cleared. Press the top button on the side of the CrystalSky to leave it on and conserve power when you are caching the maps. I use a mobile hotspot and can use google maps anywhere. I have been running Litchi on CrystalSky this way for about two months now and it works fine. I am glad Litchi is making it available to users via Amazon.com. I paid for the app for the Android platform on the google play store at the time of this setup, but had to go through some hoops to get it to run on CrystalSky. I am glad Litchi realized that people wanted to use their product on CrystalSky, regardless of the unsupported stance of DJI for this app with regards to DJI Care refresh and warranty. DJI needs to wake up to the market with regards to the best software for the job and allow creators to use this wonderful app and support it as it uses their SDK. DJI should stand behind their SDK if logs are provided.
When using Litchi (and DJI Go 4) here are some important things to consider. 1) When using waypoints always put yourself and your controller (physically) in the midpoint of the waypoint point mission if you can so you can always have line of sight. In the rare chance the bird drops out of NAVI mode (using GPS) and goes into ATTI mode you should be able to get control and bring it back to you. You do not want this to happen when the bird is too far away from you or else. Also, fly your bird to the first waypoint as the software could fly it into a tree or building if you do not. 2) You do not need to calibrate your compass as often as you think. If you stay withing a 200 mile radius of flying /shooting you should be fine. If you have to calibrate your compass make sure you do it in an open field away from all metal, towers, cell phones, rings, belts, electronics, etc. You always want to make sure the compass is solid in the area you are flying so you may want to do some manual flight tests runs to make sure GPS is solid in the area. #) This information will help you keep your bird flying safe. Many fly aways happen mostly due to these pointers not being adhered to.
Jack Bisson Hi Jack, Are you saying that the Google Service apk file that you download from the link on the Litchi website does not work and the one from the apkpure.com does? The reason I ask is that I downloaded the version from the Litchi website link and it does not work. The Litchi app doesn’t recognize that the service is running. In fact I see that it Crystalsky tries to run multiple versions of the service. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hey there. I recently acquired a Phantom 4 pro plus with the built-in screen. I manage to install Amazon on the device but when I try to purchase Litchi I get an error every time. I can buy other items just not from this device. I force closed all dji apps etc, but to no avail.
I have a MP-2. When I normally switch on CS it defaults to the Go4 app. In the pop up instructions, Litchi mentions 'clearing' the default app ability to launch the Go4 in order to be able to choose which app you'd prefer to fly with. I went into the settings and 'app launcher' and only saw the Go4 icon. What/where to I clear the 'default' settings...and/or is there a simple way to choose, upon launching the CS, which app you'd like to fly with? Thanks.
Any idea how to get offline maps to work?? I created a way-point mission, but when I go in the field, I only get a blank screen where the satellite image map should be. I downloaded 'Here Maps' but it crashes when I try to start it up. In fact, pretty much every 3rd part app crashes on the crystal sky. Most apps that run off the google play store refuse to work. Is the crystal sky only good for being bright?
Thanks for the information! I have been frustrated that the Crystal Sky doesn't support Litchi and now they've finally found a way, even if I do have to re-purchase the app on the Amazon store. On another note, if I were you, I would replace or at least blur out the lower right portion of the opening screen at :59 seconds. The news just hit the wires here of the 14 jr. hockey players accident in Saskatchewan. It seems a bit insensitive (I'm sure you didn't even notice it) and I would not want one of my videos to forever be seen and linked with that sad headline. Big hockey fan here, so maybe I'm overly sensitive, but I'm thinking if it hit me wrong, it could very well affect others the same way. Anyway, love your channel and appreciate the updates! So what i want to know is can play 4k video's mp4 sice on the crystal sky monitor . I want to know this very much . The reason is that i want to buy a crystal sky monitor for my mavic pro but i also want to play drone 4k mp4 video's on the crystal sky monitor and want to conect it with my tv with HDMI kabel and play my video's and watch it back . And i also want to know is can you also can conect a Portable harddrive on your crystal sky monitor to kopie or get your drone video's files from the micro sd cart to my harddrive with using the crystal sky monitor for that . That 2 things i want to know very ,very much befor i buy a crystal sky monitor. I've followed all the steps and I have succesfully installed Litchi on Remote Controler PHANTOM 4 PRO+... but when I launch the Litchi APP it says DISCONNECTED... Any idea on how connect to the aircraft? Thanks in advance!
Ok try as follows, Go Into Settings, Apps, scroll along at the top to All and Find DJI GO 4, click that and press the Clear Defaults Screen, Reboot and then open Litchi and see if it connects.
"Known issue For Samsung Galaxy S5, Xiaomi Mi5 and LG G4 devices running Android 6+, connecting to Litchi with any aircraft model except the P3 Standard/P3 4K will only work if Litchi is the only DJI-based app installed on the device (DJI Go, or other third party DJI apps must not be installed on the same device)." THAT MEANS WE WON'T BE ABLE TO USE LITCHI WITH THE P4P+ remote controller because the DJI GO app is preinstalled on it and cannot be uninstalled??? :S
Thanks for the video but do you realize the Amazon Litchi app does not work? It runs too slow to be useful and the app crashes. I have tried it myself and there is a thread CrystalSky - Litchi on MavicPilots.com in which everyone seems to have the same issue.
Warning! There has been talks that Litchi overheats the Crystalsky and burn out some of the inner component. I don't know if it has been updated with a resolve. Sadly no, still not official option for this, there has been some work done unofficially however its not perfect tbh
I believe you can also just download the apk file via computer than put it on an SD card or Flash drive and directly load it on the CS

I wonder how it works to be able to install on Crystalsky having previously purchased a copy from the google store to use with an android phone.
John Swallow unfortunate as it stands it will take a separate purchase again from Amazon.
On the Pro Plus : you get the ERROR DJI will not allow , How to get past this ?

what if I have paid for it already for my phone via google play and now I have a crystal sky? I dont want to pay twice for 2 android devices

Sorry the Plus remote it’s not unlocked like the Crystalsky device and can’t use the same files.

Have you tried manually closing the app from the app launcher, if you go into Apps in settings and go to Running and close Launcher
