But seriously I can't imagine my life without Keith & the Rolling Stones. The soundtrack of my life.
💯 I'm a fan since GHS 1973
How original.
if you think of Keith and only think of drinking and dope , boring cliches about his longevity, or that he's some burn out , you are missing the bigger picture. This is a bright, well rounded fella with a vast knowledge of music and history . He's a true music lover and always has something interesting to say if you just listen to him and put all the stereotypes aside
The Creature Amen!
Definitely agree. His book "Life" is a great read.
John Conway Bought it the day it hit the stand! Or maybe it was Amazon. 🥰😂
@@johnconway9882 Yep I have read autobiographies and bios of a lot of musicians but his is without a doubt the best one.
Mark Davidson True or false, he’s lived to tell plenty! Heck. I don’t remember some of the ‘70s! 😂😂✌️
Long live Keef!
He alredy did...
It makes me happy to know there are people like Keith Richards walking amongst us.
Absolutely. Salt of the earth.
@@andrews127 I'd like to see him & Keanu Reeves have a conversation. William Shatner & Mike Tyson was a surprisingly interesting conversation to witness.
@@thisguy8916 cool! I met both MickTaylor from the stones, he was with them from 1970 to 1975 when Ronnie Wood replaced him. Also met Bobby Keys, their sax player who has since died.
@@andrews127 Man!, I'm 48; so many people have passed - or are heading that way- that I'd like to have met. SRV, David Gilmour, Anyone from the Stones, Floyd, or Zeppelin. Richard Wright seems like he would have been great to meet. Frank Zappa...
@@thisguy8916 have you listened to Frank Zappa s Overnight Sensation album?
We need more interviews of Keith. Best story teller and rock historian.
Bill spins a pretty good yarn, too, but I've always enjoyed listening to Keith.
What a story he has!!!
He's all cleaned up and looking good. Doesn't look a day over 500 now.
Definitely. I bet what's left of his hair smells exquisite.
He'd swing an axe at your fool head, mate.
davidevans: Keith`s doctor has to be the greatest doctor ever. He`s been keeping a corpse alive for years. bwahaha
Keith is Jumpin' Jack Ash at this point. Still the man.
may he live to be 500.
Keith is a WORLD ICON. A GENIUS AND POET, AMAZING GUITARIST WITH A BLUES SOUL AND A SOUL FILLED HEART1!
VERY WELL SAID,ABBIE WILLIAMS, YOU NAILED IT, WALTER B.MEMPHIS
Armando Ramos Do you feel inferior to his accomplishments?
Armando Ramos I’m sure you don’t give too much thought to anything. Misery loves company.
Armando Ramos that’s something a miserable person would say
All the negative comments about this man,,,, He is 75yrs young,,,, ,50 plus years with. ""THE STONES,, he is a gifted guitarist,,, my respect to KEITH RICHARDS!!!!!
June Bermingham living damn legend!!
@@MrDeengels Too right ,,first record I ever bought was The Stones,, love them, and love love Keith,, LEGEND,!!!!!!
Any negative comments means they know nothing at all about Keith.
@@sandijohnson4630 I am with you Sandi !!! Love Keith,,, long may Keith be around to tell us these great stories,,, Stones. Forever!!!!!
haters! this guy has live the life they ll never live
Keith is on the money, Johnny Johnson and Chuck Berry was the key to that sound and ignited the imaginations of so many who came in their wake. Keith is a true rock archivist.
This cat IS Rock and Roll. He has done everything you could possibly do to make it all happen. He's had the joy and he's had the suffering. But he ALWAYS delivers.
Amen
@@lanalou77 And may all Keith's heroes who are no longer with us, smile on him and Rock and Roll FOREVER !!!!!!!
Keith is fueled by joy and love of making music. The older he gets the more evident that is to me.
He's so charming in these interviews. Seems like a regular guy in many ways. Very cool. Love the stories.
I like Keith’s old man look. Own it Keith! You remain seriously relevant 57 years on. That’s amazing.
One of the greatest guitarists that nobody thinks is. Love this guy, keep on keeping on.
My favourite quotes out of this video
1. Ian Stewart was a member of the Stones.
2. Being a the band's guitar player is a much cooler job than being the frontman.
You are so right with both Keith. Love it!
Just to be fair, the Stones would've ended up another Chuck Berry cover bar band without Mick's master frontmanship setting them apart. The frontman everyone else copied...
I never understood why Ian Stewart was not an effective member of the band. He participated in the creation of several songs of the band and was with the Stones from the beginning.
(Sorry for Google Translator)
@@PH-bd8nf he didn't "look" like a stone, that's why. Arguable or not, this was the reason, as far as I know. If you check his face and compare to the others, you'll understand.
amancu1963 That is so shallow....
@@elizabethmcleod246 I agree but those were very special years I guess
A thousand years from now when visitors from outer space arrive to investigate the remains of our desolate uninhabited planet Keith can fill in the details for them and bring them up to date
Very funny my friend.! .. him and his new band "the rolling roches
Keith and Ozzy
we will be the ones visiting desolate wastelands
Yes he will then teach them how to rock.
It's so hard to make a good joke in a hackneyed mode -- but you did it, Terry! Nicely done.
Two heroes: Keith and Stevie!
😂u mean one hero.
Please don't insult Keith Richard's
75yrs. old and that's the most lucid interview I've ever seen with Keef. Was just listening to "Metamorphosis" today. The World's Greatest Rock n' Roll Band.
That'll be The Who
Love RUclips for these very kind of interviews. 😎
Keith you still remember everything. Bless you
Keith is amazingly lucid - much more alert than I've seen him in other interviews
So much cool music history wrapped in one package. Love Keith!
I love Keef's laugh. He's a living legend, ya'll.I love Little Stephen too.Listen to his radio show all the time.😘
Keith Richards you are a wonderful band leader and one of the best Kick-Ass front lead guitar players in the world
He's the rhythm guitarist
I believe the greatest guitarists are the most humble.
I love Keith's biography as well as his music
Keith, you are an honourable and wise gentleman!
.@MorbidManMusic You are a dope. Keith is extremely intelligent - that's why he has lasted so long. Keith had his fun, but was never out of control. And he has been a very good family man, a one-bird man.
Amazing to see these two chatting it up! The stones were my first rock band love! ❤
Two legends. Keith Richards will live forever as a numen of the Rock n' Roll macrocosm. We fucking love you bro
Keith Richards: without your music...the beat & rhythm you produce, I could not have stayed alive. So thank you for my life! I owe you more than one...dearest person on this Earth that you are!💖 I’m listening to you ‘dance’ off the stage doing Rockpile...beyond perfect as you always are!
Keef is the Stones! He’s the backbone! Along with Charlie Watts. The steady backbeat for over 50 years!
Completely correct comment, Keith and Charlie feed off of one another, they are the heart and soul of the Stones.
Keith, you're a great inspiration! Love you brother.
Having a beer with Keef and going down memory lane would put all other bucket lists on the back burner
Hail to the Keith!!
Love Keith Richards....always have, always will.
FEEL THE SAME WAY,AND I GOT A LOT OF RESPECT FOR THAT MAN,I REALLY DO,WALTER B.MEMPHIS.
Stones, Beatles, are Great Legacy bands that will never be forgotten. Their music will be played in the next Century!!
Keith IS Rock and Roll. Thanks for all of the great music Keith!
I did meet you in Seattle in 2006, You were a true gentleman
and is was a dream come true to meet you.
Absolutely Awesome
At some point, we face our mortality. Then we see Keith Richards and realize maybe there are immortals among us. 💜😃
Mr.Keith Richards forever, thanks for all good times
I could listen to Keith all day
IMAGINE HAVING
ALL
THOSE RIFFS
and SONGS 💥💥💥💥
TO YOUR NAME?
If your job for over 50 years has been to play the opening riff of Satisfaction, which you composed, and 100,000 people stand up and cheer, you are the greatest rock guitarist of all time.
A true legend.he wrote as many great songs and iconic guitar riffs as anyone ever in rock history. I idolized Keith. I became a guitar player in the 70's after seeing keith play.he made it look like the coolest thing ever, and it was.
Keith Richards. Your most recent book "Life" was one of the few books I had read from beginning to end.It made me feel that I was a fly on the wall and that was an incredible feeling. I am forever grateful to have been born in 1966.Keith is an amazing man.
The entire Trinity for me playing guitar, Keef, his chords, and his swagger. If you can nail or come close to all 3, you can have a life as a weekend musician. I started in the club's in the early 80s, and with only a few breaks between bands I'm still doing it 30 years later. No, I didn't get nationwide famous, but what I did achieve was local/regional famous, and all my gear was purchased through the extra $ I saved on my bar tabs with my "gig money."
That's cool bro. Keep rocking, from a fellow muso.
Nice to see Keith so happy! :-)
REALLY IS,AND SUCH A WEALTH OF INFORMATION,LOVE TO MEET KEITH RICHARDS SOME DAY,COULD TALK FOR DAYS,WALTER B.MEMPHIS

I read Life and concluded : what a genuinely nice bloke! Everything here confirms exactly that. The nicest guy in Rock n Roll? Quite likely.
He is one of the greatest guitarists in the greatest band in the world.
American and british legends here.
Keith is a Class A man. I hope he lives forever. Best, Pete.
Beautiful thanks. Nice to see an interview where the interviewer let's the other person talk. And little Steven well I admire you as a person very much.
Masterpiece.
Keith♥️♥️♥️ I love you. Of all the songs of stones, 'Waiting on a friend' is my fav. The way you walked the hallway is justtttt goddamnnn perfect!!!!
I love that one to!
If I ever got a chance to sit down with Mr Richard's and just talk, I think I could listen to him for months before I was satisfied. So many cool stories from a RnR legend ✌
THESE TWO ARE MY FAVOURITES OMG IM FREAKING OUT THIS IS GREAT
It's cool to know that these guys are just like the guys around town you play the bars with, they just play way bigger bars.
And they also started off playing the bars, covering artists they loved, although it was a different (music)world back then, otherwise.
Bought my Talk Is Cheap reissue on Friday - still sounds epic.
YOU MADE A MOST EXCELLENT CHOICE,ONE BAD ASS C.D. ALBUM, KICKS ASS,WALTER B.MEMPHIS.!!
Oh Keith, my forever love. Bless you and the Stones 💜
This had to be an unbelievable treat for, Steven ❤
Keith is my Hero!
Love Keef's hair!!
Two of the nicest genuine men in R&R together plus great sensible talk what could be better 👍👍
Ah, this guy! At various times in this interview, his hair has this wonderful blue halo light! Keep On Keith! Hey - I started reading "Keith Richards - Life" and was so enthralled and happy to hear his own - incredibly coherent and honestly but colorfully descriptive - of events! (Thanks, KR). Well - this guy was able to live a life we'd ALL envy. And somehow he has the genes - or life attitude - to survive it and have so much more presence and intelligent introspection (not to mention comic asides and insights!) than many ever gave him credit for. But hey, if they'd really looked at the songs, the lyrics and sounds... It has always been there, and whoopee, it still is! He keeps going, following interest and not backing off.
AGREED,THAT BOOK IS AMAZING, I READ IT TWICE,AND THAT IS RARE,GREAT MAN,HUGE HEART,HONEST,AND SOME OF THE THINGS HE SAYS,HAVE HAD ME IN TEARS I LAUGHED SO DAMN HARD,REALLY DID,KEITH RICHARDS IS ONE AMAZING MAN,AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN,THE REAL DEAL,TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT,THIS WORLD IS MUCH BETTER WITH KEITH AND PEOPLE LIKE HIM IN IT,AND NOW HE IS INVOLVED IN SO MUCH,MOSS DON'T GROW ON A ROLLIN STONE,WALTER B..MEMPHIS, TAKE CARE AND STAY WELL AND SAFE
Saw Keith and Expensive Winos in a theater in Northern Virginia in mid-90's ... absolute and utter stellar RnR show like one from the 50's and 60's ... much better than the more than several times I saw the Stones starting back in '81.
Keef's laugh sounds like dragging an anvil across concrete, and I mean that in the best way possible
Brian Setzer said that when he went to England and met Keith, he found that behind his druggy persona was a man with an encyclopedic knowledge of American popular music. You get a glimpse of that here.
Please read his book Life, talk about amazing knowledge of music.yeah, there’s that other stuff too......
Mark Kelly
BRIAN JONES
@@celticjay2306 Brian was as much magician as musician. The best of the Stones were with him. He brought a color to their music which was unique and never duplicated.
Mythic legend had Keith in drug-damaged limbo. Not true. Keith Richards is a very smart, insightful man. That's why he's lasted.

It was '81, I know because I saw them in Boulder. George Thorogood opened, then Heart, then the Stones. What a #$@!ing concert that was!
