So I wanted to change things up this week and really dive into the history of pole dancing, stripping, and misconceptions. In my research I found a lot of information pertaining to race so there's some discussion in the video about that.

12:38 I find it hard to believe that those forms of pole dancing/acrobatics directly influenced the ORIGINS of modern pole dancing. However, that isn’t to say it couldn’t have had an impact on how modern pole dancing has developed, especially since it has different styles, some more dancy, some more acrobatic.

Oh I bet someone has done a modern maypole pole routine. People are allowed to draw inspiration from anywhere but I was just focusing on influences for the beginning of pole dancing as a cultural phenomenon.
