  • Meth does the most damage of all the drugs, but recovery is still very possible. Everyone’s timeline is different. This is my experience with recovery from methamphetamine.

You're very articulate & did a great job sharing your insights. Rarely do people realize that internal strife can drive ANYONE to substance abuse; regardless of circumstance/upbringing, etc.
I felt a connection between my story and yours for this reason. I'm happy you're doing well, we do recover!!!! 😀

Hey I just wanted to say that I'm very proud of you, for even trying, let alone overcoming your addiction. the only drugs I've had experience with is marijuana and psychedelics so I've never done any pills or other uppers and I just wanted to say that your beauty shows even through all of this you are stunning and it made me realize that even people who do drugs like this and then overcome it's almost a certain art the before and after of just how you appear to others and yourself it's a bigger rush than the meth. That happiness that I'm sure you experience every single day when you wake up and you realize that aren't focused on the next high anymore and now focused on yourself and your future, I'm so proud of you. You are a stunning young woman and you will go very far in life as long as you put your mind to it I appreciate you for posting this to inform others of the dangerous of methamphetamine because that drug, excuse my language, but it's so fucked. I know this message might sound a little weird from a stranger but I am not even 18 yet my brain isn't fully developed, but i don't need a fully developed brain to know you overcame one of the most difficult things and it's inspiring to me that even someone who was addicted to meth could overcome it and it makes me think any normal life challenge will be cake compared to something like that so I thank you and have a wonderful morning, evening, or goodnight. P.S. Half of these shitty comments are from people I'm sure who aren't informed neither tried the substance they have so right to speak on your accomplishment negatively. ❤❤❤

The tree police. I've never seen a cop in a tree in my whole life. I've seen most people get remotely back to normal after about a year clean. But not everyone most just never get clean. Glad you made it.

Hey Emma Thank you for your courage integrity and genuine heart. This vid is a gift to both you and others somewhere in the addiction process. I work in MH at times with people at different stages of the meth use cycle and your insight is really informative and useful for me. I've only done meth one time and it was so good, I decided that was a slippery slope. However I've also lots of experience with deliberate sleep deprivation so good to know some of that experience can inform future empathy and understanding. You''re doing such an amazing job...Enjoy the beauty x

Your story is amazing. I love to see your vibrant happiness and love for life after coming back from this. I have looked into the eyes and desired to pull others from the depths of their addiction. It is difficult to witness first hand a seemingly lifeless body and a mind of someone you care about; their hollow eyes bereft of vitality - and usually so far gone that they don't even want to climb out of where they are, and they are incapable of reciprocating love and gratitude. Congrats to you for taking it to another level and pulling out of the dark places. You are an inspiration. Your spirit is unstoppable. You will achieve all those dreams you spoke of, the very things that inspired you to overcome. Your genuine care and capacity to show love and gratitude is readily apparent. You have infinite worth, your story is important, and your life has purpose. I love it.

I can reallly relate to what you said about sleep being so important. I worked the night shift for a year and a half a couple years ago and during that time most days I was unable to sleep for more than 3 hours. Even though I needed sleep so bad I kept waking up. I've always been somebody that needed a lot of sleep (like between 7 to 8 hours a night) and near the end it started to have a really negative impact on me.
It's really inspiring to hear you talk about having such a healthy lifestyle now. Even working out 4 to 5 times a week, it really shows :) Much love from Belgium!

Length and strength of use as to whether you can fully recover. Strength probably more so. Will is important too, self-belief, in any recovery - faith and belief in miracles. I completely relate to so much that you say, including sleep. I never made the correlation between my stimulant use and my aversion to sleep until you've said it now. Both uppers and downers have been my choice though - perhaps mitigating natural highs and lows in my moods. Another thing, never truly connected the shadow people and 'blobs' (black orb) to my meth use, and subsequent lack of sleep, but that makes sense. I still believe what I saw was there and exists in another realm. Not delusional; I think it's very real. Altered states of mind because of sleep deprivation, substance use and misuse, allows us to see and experience things that are otherwise always around. Seem to have ADHD here too. I'm sure that's what influenced Josh Homme's use of meth for sixteen years. It only came out recently that he'd been using that for so long. Stimulants of any kind are making up for a lack in our chemistry and so it works for us.

Meth does more than just block dopamine reuptake. It changes the direction which dopamine flows and floods the synapses with dopamine. MDMA does something similar but with both dopamine and serotonin

    2. Never ever have I ever experience anything like this. It what the feeling I felt that scared me. I felt like all the joy, happiness, hope , etc ripped out of me. It felt like the desire to live just vanished. I'm lucky that someone watches from above and helped to turn on the light quickly. It would be nice if we could speak. I think would help ya, help me (help us). After that incident. It didn't stop there, it was horrible but I never saw the same thing again. I feel that God led me to this video for a reason too. 2 people from 2 different parts of the world experiencing the same thing. Yea. Anyways please reply and I hope ya have been well. Would it be ok for ya to chat through email or would ya rather another platform. Till now instill feel s lot of unease about it. Thanks for taking the time to read. God Bless

Post Addiction Withdrawal Syndrome(PAWS)can last 2 years for many living with it. I was always drawn to Opiods, but speed(Methamphetamine, not crystal meth)was the first drug that I injected. I wish you all the best in life and sobriety!

I had a sad experience recently. I rarely drink coffee but it was late and I needed to drive so I stopped at a Starbucks to get a small coffee. There was a young woman there who asked for help. She was dirty but her clothes were clean. She wore a very nice white coat. She asked for money and if she could use my phone. I didn't have cash so I said "no" and I was worried she'd try to run off with my phone so I compromised, "tell me who to call and I'll put it on speaker phone." She called her mom. I overheard a heartbreaking story from her mom and how she stole jewelry, phones, clothes, money and credit cards for drugs. Her mom said, "we can't let you back in our lives because we couldn't pay our mortgage and almost lost our house because you stole from us." Her mom hung up the phone. She just got up and left. Never said thank you or anything, disappearing into the alley behind the supermarket.
(I noticed you make a "smacking" sound when you talk like she did too)

Congrats, mephedrone was a bastard, uk party drug, 33 now but was on it from 18 to 21, constantly, scary reality, nobody should feel that good lol
But it’s over now, opiods tho. Stuck on kratom, ended up on oxy, got off it 4 years ago, but still on decline from kratom thanks to help from a clinic.
I live a great successful life, so there is no need for me to be on drugs.

The material successes in life often have very little bearing upon how we feel about ourselves. Drug seeking us driven by tge desire to escape emotional pain the vast majority of the time. Address your emotional well-being and it will drastically improve your journey of sobriety.

insane for someone who takes something so aboslutely damaging to the body and brain would think they get to feel how they did before taking it. That's like drinking a sip of hydrochloric acid everyday and asking when your vocal chords will go back to normal after stopping.
