Wonderful stories! I do like Me's response to EB insisting Me _does_ work there. A variant of "I don't care how much how much you pay me, I will NOT (perform some intimate act) you!" Seems like a useful response, and much less aggressive than the obvious ones.

It always boggles me that folks insist others work in stores that they have zero clue who even is on shift. Are people really that dense that they couldn't believe retail workers aren't construction workers and vice versa? Good lord! 🙄🙄

There is something about the people like OP beeping behind a cash register while pretending to ring up an obnoxious lady that is so endearing. If I had been there when it happened, I would have fallen to the floor from laughing so hard.
I hope OP's manager did not mind when he was called. What are you supposed to do with aggressive customers who insist you work somewhere you don't? They refuse to take "no" for an answer.

Can't stop laughing at the last story. The guy and the beeping. I would of told the ding bat I can't ring up your items. There is a store policy if I am not in a uniform and am all dirty I can't touch anything that is for sale. But this ding dong would not understand that.

In rhe last story, the stupid manager should be paying attention and protecting contractors--and other customers--from Karens! It may be the MOST IMPORTANT part of their jobs!

I love these 'Karen' stories. Mostly because the only way to deal with any Karen is to say "So?" Then, my additional response would be, "I'm not God and I'm not your personal butler so go and tell someone who actually gives an F". Where I live, there aren't a lot of entitled people who demand things. Most people, where I live, are fairly decent, and I've found that everyone has attitude to some degree. Generally speaking, people aren't all that entitled. At least, I've never ran into any. I've only had one person who mistook me for an employee once and was apologetic when I responded "I don't work here." We both laughed because we thought it was funny.
I have never been approached by some entitled person, but I have helped other customers if I knew where something was, or needed something on a high shelf. I have seen Karens in the wild before, and it was fun watching them slowly get madder and madder. They always end up losing. It is so satisfying, watching them get what they deserve.
