Linkin Park's tribute to Chris Cornell death on Jimmy Kimmel show
According to Mike Shinoda, Chester couldn't even finish the song for even one time during rehearseals, he always cried his heart out.
Chris Cornell was his best friend, they were both godparents of each others sons and they both suffered from several depression, so their conection was even stronger because of those feelings.
I miss him both so much and their music helped me going through a lot.
RIP Chester and Chris.
I found more of Linkin Park in 2021 when I was going through a mental struggle in my sophomore and junior years of high school. He help me so much I wish he wasn't gone when I found out about him
They also were both abused as kids and were looking into helping the abused and exposing pedos. Chester died on Chris birthday
Just to add. They where so close because they shared similar severe trauma in their childhoods. Losing Chris just utterly destroyed Chester in every possible way.

He's chocking up right from the beginning,his voice is so strained during the whole song,he goes off pitch a few times barely holding his shit..the only moment he could let go was the screaming part..and from that point on it was too much for him to bare,I bet he was in tears by that time..just like I am right now cuz it gets me every time 😩

I believe he was emotional and lost the timing of the song and had to “hum” it out loud without words. Listen closely he is humming
You are exactly right.He was definitely joking up with emotion from the very beginning.Idk how people can say he forgot.Ridiculous.He was extremely depressed over Chris and I can’t imagine how hard it was for him to even get through that song.

The backstory alone is heartfelt it was about their friend Amy Zaret who had passed away from cancer and had been friends with them for many years couple that with Chris who is not just friends with LP but Chester's son godfather wow

Chester struggled so much finishing this song it's heartbreaking to see him in so much pain honestly now I understand why he ended his life in his own way.
I love this song. I think of my sister every time I hear it. 2 years this September she passed and it still hurts. Chester is a legend, he sings like an angel and screams like a devil. I hope everyone who reads this is healthy and safe. RIP Chester. Awesome reaction guys!

This is going to be kind of a strange thought to put out there, but I believe that some people who are suicidal or who complete suicide feel empathy on an extremely deep level. The weight of the world is so heavy, and they feel the pain of so many people. It is draining and depressing and shitty. They don't do what they do out of trauma, but out of weariness. Just my two cents.

This song is so emotional, it gets me tery every time. Both Chris and Chester were definitely favorites of mine and this song hits real hard. The official music video is also pretty emotional as well.

This song and "proud corazón" from the movie Coco will crush me everytime. LP was my late wife's favourite band and this was her favourite song, and with "proud corazón" Coco such a beautiful movie based around Mexico's day of the dead festival, it was the first movie I ever saw with her after meeting her and just started dating not long after my mom passed, she held me in her arms as I cried thinking of my mom during the movie and said she wanted to honor her and remember her on Día de Muertos on her ofrenda. She broke me then and there, she was so sweet, so loving.
She passed away from cancer last year, and wanted to watch Coco together as it was the movie that brought us closer together. We hugged and held each other and kissed. She passed away in my arms that day.
I played "proud corazón" and sang it to her in spanish as I played it on guitar when I proposed to her. That song means the world to me. She will always be my "proud corazón" my proud heart translated
RIP Chester and Chris and to all that have lost loved ones in recent times.
To those suffering depression, I have been where you are. There is no weakness to seek help and open your feelings. Please open up and share. I know it's so fucking hard to do that. Take small steps. That's all you need to do. There is always gonna be someone to hug away the pain.

Wow, I never knew Chris that well, I always thought of Chester like a big brother to me and helping me through the hard times.
I learned that a friend of Chester's wrote this song who later died of cancer. With what Chester did in the end because he couldn't escape his demons it puts everything into perspective RIP Chester Benington
I lost my best friend not to long after and my paw paw to ………. And we all lose Chester the sand year……. That scream was a cry for help I think. He was so emotional and just drained……… he couldn’t even finish the ending without crying 😭 poor guy I wish I could of seen him or even give him a hug but I can’t we ever can I miss him every day it’s weird not having him or anything on earth.
