That “I Do” he yells just choked me so hard. It does every time.
A cry for help, that no one noticed
Every. Single. Time.
@@mattmac1012 how that's a cry for help? it's a declaration that he cares
I had goose bumps and tears were running within a second.. heartbreaking..
He does that on the studio version too, but it's mixed super muffled and reverby, sounds like a synth. In this live version you really hear the passion and sadness.
Im a simple man, I see linkin park I click
Felici Chris I feel you
Yep !
Totally
Me too mate
I am depressed cuz of chesters and chris death
Chester passed away on Cornell`s birthday...They were best buddies and Chester was a godfather to his kids...truly heartbreaking stuff...Love.
Passed away sounds so peaceful. These were 2 self-murders.
@@bararobberbaron859 thank you for providing the most retarded comment of the day. You will receive your trophy in short order by mail.
Bara Robber Baron they both died of a disease called depression. It truly has nothing to do with murder. They did not want to die but the depression got the better of them in the end sadly.
@meeeee1968 Please stop spreading this bullshit and just let them rest in peace
Bara Robber Baron Kindly go fuck yourself.
6:18 "He described his mind as a bad neighborhood and should not go out there walking alone and I feel like a lot of us feel that way, so, if you do..." "IIIII doooo"
The timing of that
Right!!! So beautiful
It gives me goosebumps ..
THAT HURT A LOT
Because of that… the scream hurts even more…
I wish we could help him… just like he could help so much of us…
It's like he is still speaking directly to us
His spirit will live on forever.
This man had a huge impact on my life. I miss him dearly
Me too!!
Still...
Hoorah.... hoorah RIP Chester
Yur right
in all of us brow
“In the kitchen one more chair than you need” ….. gets me every time. RIP Chester you were an amazing artist
"And you're angry, and you should be, it's not fair" is the bit that sends me. I, like many people, felt hella guilty for being angry in my grief, and that was the line I needed most. It's a common and dangerous misconception that the only emotion we should feel while battling grief is sadness. We feel ALL the emotions, and they ALL matter, and they ALL help us process loss in their own way. The whole song feels to me like a friend is saying, "It's ok to feel what you're feeling. I've been there, and even if it seems like no one cares or understands...I do."
Yeah. It's the one more chair thing that gets me. It is the perfect example of a reminder pulling the floor from under you. You're going about your business. Going through the motions of every day life. You set up for dinner. And suddenly you remember. No plate needed at that chair. That's where they sat. And never will. Hits you like a tonne of bricks, every time you get one of those tiny details that pull on that huge gaping hole in your world.
All these all get me I love you guys
@@LongandWeirdName yeah..🥺💔
Same. That one and "you're angry and you should be, it's not fair."
Heart-wrenching for sure.
6:31 this was the most emotion I've ever seen out of a vocalist ever, truly incredible
yes it is. But LP played Crawling also very emotional on the last shows before ... yes you know.

Emotion of chester here explode!

@@TheMcKibbin amazing performance.
The absolutely legendary 17 second scream in the middle of the song and then he keeps going. Its staggering.

This, so much this. Also, another track that shows the other side of his voice is Pushing Me Away Live in Milton Keynes, or their version of Rolling In the Deep. Chester, Mike and a Piano is a special combination
Still sad about this loss. Hopefully he feels better now, wherever he is.
I will never get over Chris or Chester. They had a huge impact on my life and I will ALWAYS remember them....fondly.
Synthesia Chester was one of a kind
He will scream in eternal pain

Chester was truly a beautiful soul. Rest easy brother. Can’t help but choke up every time I listen to him 😓
Hey Beth you should react to Chris Cornell And chester bennington singing crawling by Linkin Park
Omg that's a brilliant idea!!
Or Hunger strike performance
Both! 👍🤘
Hunger strike is more interesting.
@@sergioarsenio right?
6:33 That vocal power though! 🔥🔥🔥 There will never be anyone with talents as unique as Chester's. RIP
@Slinky TV I do know other singers, but Chester's voice and range was unique enough that it'd be very difficult to find another with anything close.
@Slinky TV So how does it not make sense? If it'll clarify, I'm referring to the fact that some singers' voices are famous and iconic for being as unique as they are. Chester was one of those singers.
@Slinky TV Bennington's strenght is in his variety and tonal quality. Never heard JMK perform acoustic ballads like chester did for instance, though his live consistency is just brilliant and he's by no means bad at melodic singing.
" Freddy Mercury too,"
Mercury struggled hard with his high notes live. Freddie was fantastic at expressing himself, but there's a whole world of vocals that he barely touched. MJK and Bennington were superb at adding compression and distortions for those raspy high notes, taking it all the way to straight up screaming. Closest Freddie's gone to this was give me the prize imo.
" Chester is great and all but don’t said there will never be anyone who has his talent, there are way better singers, the world is crazy.
"
What constitutes a "great singer" is personal, and often arbitrary. The singer with the widest range might not have the best tonal quality, pitch controlll, live consistency etc... Unless we agree on critieria, trying to pinpoin the greatest talent is nothing more than subjective interpretation.
@@disrupt94 Here's some live acoustic songs with MJK singing that you might not of heard.

Chester was/is probably my favourite vocalist of all time
Could literally sing anything. Done a great job with STP, put his own stamp on it didn't try to be a Scott Weiland clone.
Some of the live recordings of him with Camp Freddy are incredible. Done a great version of Live's I Alone. Which is an absolute monster of a track to sing, I've tried and failed.
Agreed
simo, mine too 😞😭..grew up listening to him.
@@bryanlogue1 yes!!
Every time he sings "in a sky of a million stars" he makes me tear... I've lost a lot of dearly people and this song makes me think of all of them
I’m new here and I never found Chester inconsistent . His voice was just as good live as it was when recorded . I’ve been a fan of LP for 20 years. He got so emotional at the end of the song that he couldn’t finish the words .. god bless everyone
Thanks for that, I was literally just getting pissed off about the things she was saying about Chester being inconsistent when she wasn't even listening a lot of the time because she was talking so much about things she didn't know! His voice was "inconsistent" because he was having a hard time singing the damn song about his friend that just passed away. And as far as help lines go, you need to get some facts about the people that you're speaking of before spouting shit about.
@@stephaniewade2973 she is not talking about THIS song. She's talking about all his performances, concerts. It IS inconsistent. Still good but all the drugs and alcohol impacted him and the way he sang. So just stop being a snowflake.
@@stephaniewade2973 I love Chester with everything, I do but I do agree a bit of times he was inconsistent from 2015-2017 which is okay! He was going easy on his voice and just couldn't do what he did before which again is okay! Your age gets to you eventually you know? I still love him more than anythjng and he will always be my fav vocalist of all time!
@@jesusjimenez6755 Thats true, he had alcohol problems during that time and i guess touring with 3 bands took a toll on his voice. Still actually I found some of his 2017 performance to be really great. I think 2015 was his worst year. But having said all that, throughout his career he was one of the most consistent artists ive ever heard, and he always transmitted his feelings throughout his performances, just like in this one.
With that said, I would really not call chester inconsistent. Chris Cornell had just passed before this performance, so obviously there is a lot of emotion in the air especially because the song is written about a woman who died of cancer and is generally about the loss of a friend/family member.
@@eliteiel9747 ur right and ik about the Chris Cornell thing and the One More Light thing. So dw about that! I just said he was inconsistent bc in some performances he was a little off but like i said still my fav vocalist of all! Noone will ever come close to him in my eyes!
I can’t listen to this song makes me depressed. This man helped me growing up when I battled with depression and wish I could have helped him like he helped many people.Never met him but I love him RIP Chester it’s not fair
Me too 🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭
I, for one, like to listen to this song especially whenever I’m stuck in a major depressive episode. Also songs like “Gloomy Sunday”, “Sadness is a blessing”, “Summertime sadness”, “O children“ and whatever else fits that mood. Like, indulging in simple sadness just feels comforting then.
@@nadinerick1182 Same. Explore the depth of sadness being felt through songs like Hurt by Johnny Cash, nobody can save me by linkin park, or coming down by FFDP. Used it to process and dwell within a medium where it seemed appropriate. Then finding the songs with uplifting melodies to try and bounce back becomes a cathartic journey to try and climb out of the pit felt around me through the lyrics of bands who have provided me a haven. Favorite one is reason to fight by disturbed, but always end up coming back to one more light to try and remind myself to do my best to not just become a statistic.
Mental health is a bitch, keep fighting everyone.
No, J R. It doesn't. It makes you dejected.
It doesn't strip you of all aspirations, hopes, dreams, emotions, feelings, wants, and even cravings. It doesn't turn you into a dried up, empty, stone cold husk of a person going about their life perfectly smiling and cheerful, because they don't care anymore and can put on a face for the people around them just so they stop bothering with you(because why should they, if you don't).
It rips a hole in your chest to squeeze at your heart and punches you right in the stomach. It greases up your leg joints so it's difficult to control yourself from falling to your knees. It puts army issue sandbags on your shoulders making you feel heavy and slow.
It makes you dejected. Not depressed. Chester was depressed. Chris was depressed. I am depressed(and on medication, plus going through therapy). This song doesn't make you depressed.
@@LongandWeirdName I battle depression and have done therapy and have been on meds sense I was a kid.Stop acting like your the only one who fights depression pal
When he started wearing the hat and glasses more...i knew there was something wrong. God I miss you, this world is the same without you Chester. We love and miss you.
Reid Garwin "it hides the tears" 😭
Reminds me of Scott Weiland
Eyes are windows to the soul , the reason why he wears the glaces is so he can hide his depression and sadness.
I have the same hat as he does lol i love it fedoras
" When he started wearing the hat and glasses more...i knew there was something wrong"
Chester has been changing fashion over the 20 years he's been in the spotlight. You did not know, nobody did.
My friends and I were planning to buy tickets to LP the night before he took his life. When I saw all the articles the next morning it hit me so hard. LP was and still is an anthem band for so many people young and old. I don't usually get so emotional over musicians passing, but they're lyrics speak so much truth it was almost (just a matter of time) before something happened. LP and Chester will always live on.
"I tried to give you warning, but every one ignores me. Nobody's listening..."
Chester was a gem in the music industry!!
Beth - thanks for reacting to this. Its worth checking out Mike Shinoda - Over Again. It’s more hip-hop/rappy than the stuff you normally look at, so maybe not even for a reaction, but it is the other vocalist released a few months after Chester’s death, talking about the subject. Hard to listen to. Be good to see your reaction, but even check it out ‘just cause’ because it’s worth a listen
After having just passed the 5 year mark of Chester passing. Hearing the pain in his voice during this performance is still as emotional as it was the day he sang it. I don't believe I'll ever be able to hear him sing "I do" in this song and not get emotional. Can't believe it's been 5 years already, we miss you brother. Hopefully you are in a better place looking down and seeing how much you are loved and missed.
I'm a grown man and I want to cry every time I hear this performance of this song. Chester was so important to so many people, and it's just too sad and frustrating to try to process. Rest well Chester, You helped a lot of us.
Just remember, it’s okay to cry.
There's nothing wrong with being a grown man and crying. Society has lied to its important to feel those emotions.
Look at the fans. Not one moving. Not one disrespecting the moment!! Trulyamazing. So sad he is not with us anymore!!!
No song will ever make me tear up as much as this one. RIP Chester
The song wasn't written by Amy but rather it was written by Linkin Park because of Amy and her fight with cancer and eventual passing.
And yet people still connect it with Chester's death, not Amy's.
@@tabijozwick I think it's natural though, given the circumstances. Chester clearly also attached it to Chris' passing. Great songs can be taken by anyone imo.
@@keith4278 I connect it with my best friend who died when she was 19 a couple years ago. It is just depends on the person. It's an extremely powerful and painful song.

I still shed tears when I hear this and heavy usually. Such a sad ending
Heavy is so underrated!
Cynthia Moraes facts!
With both Chester and Robin Williams...whenever someone says....they "were" or "was"...still get a little stab of pain.

Your emotions made me even more emotional. Such a beautiful song and performance. Man, Chris and Chester hurt more than any musicians death ever has.

chester's shout emanates so much pain :'(
One of the sadest versions of One More Light I've ever heard
The day Chester passed away will always stay with me for the rest of my life. The moment the announcement was made over the radio, my brother and I (Belgians) were enjoying our California road trip. It just hit us both so hard because we were literally about 30 miles from Chester's house. He was and always will be my all-time favourite singer. I actually had to park the car on the side of the road because I got so emotional. We didn't say a word to each other for the rest of the day and just listened to his voice for the remainder of that day's drive.
You're such a positive, lovely, caring and kind soul. The world needs WAY more of people like you. Thank you.
RIP Chester Bennington
Your memory, music, and legacy will live on forever in our hearts.
When he screams "I do", it gives me goosebumps everytime... You could hear the anguish in his voice 😢 he'll forever remain an icon of music and my biggest ever inspiration
This song, and especially this version always makes me emotional. Such a beautiful song, that's sadly not known enough
I still miss Chester. He will always live in our hearts ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for doing this Beth, miss Chester every single day :(
One More Light was written for a band friend who died of cancer aged just 25. She worked at Warner. One More Light then got dedicated to Chris, as per your reaction video, then it was the last single released by Linkin Park and became the song fans gravitated towards after Chesters passing.
Its a great song imo. Chesters vocals are amazing but when he 'cracks' near the end of the song and missis a bit, it hits me every time. RIP Amy, Chris and Chester 🕯️🕯️🕯️😔
Such an emotional song and what a singer Chester was and his voice will live on I get choked up listening to this and seeing you choked up gets me more emotional thanks Beth for reacting to this
That song hits me like a sledge hammer. Myself dealing with PTSD and sometimes I have had thoughts of ending it all to find peace I understand how heavy and dark things can be. Lots of times people don't reach out so if you feel like some one is having a hard time reach out to them insted and be that person that may be the difference.
Yeah I'm sorry for what you had to go through man. It sucks, due to how my lifelong best friend took his own life I now have PTSD. Just know you arent alone.
Yeah, had a few friends go that way. It's rough being a survivor for sure. I just pray for peace for whoever's hurting.
strength....emotions r like weather. summer hot n sunny then the fall.....then spring :-)....
i would like to hear your opinion on the live version of "give it up". where he screams for 17 seconds
Given up? :)
Its given up
Given up. Screams for 14 measures
That scream coming to the end, that was a scream of pain.
Goddamn RIP Chester and Chris
I just can’t get enough of your videos. Your reactions are so authentic and on point. And your outlook in so positive and beautiful while still understanding how the mind works when it starts to go dark. You are so lovely. Please keep doing these videos. It’s some of the few times in a day I actually feel like things will be ok.
Miss this dude everyday, but Linkin park still will be my favorite band forever. If only we could rewind time sometimes. A true legend...
To lose Chris and then Chester in such a short time was so unreal. The world of music lost two of it's brightest stars. Some of the people who absolutely shaped the landscape of my childhood and life with music. It's hard not to hear these voices now and not feel in your bones the small sacrifices their performances were.
This performance absolutely breaks my heart every time. You can tell Chester barely got through it because, understandably, he’s just devastated. Mike Shinoda has said that in rehearsal just before they went on stage and performed this, Chester never managed to get through the song because he just broke emotionally every time.
it has been years yet this song's introduction still gets me every time.
This is one of the most heartbreaking performances ever, the pain in his voice is so clear.
What has it been, five years now? There have been artists that have effected me quite a bit, Chester to this day hits me hard. To hear him sing the lyrics in retrospect just puts so much more weight on them. Chester you are greatly missed, Rest In Peace brother

It's sad that Chester couldn't handle all of this anymore, I guess sometimes it's just to much for one human to deal with.
His death was really rough for me, even tho I never knew him in RL, I've cried for days. Rest in Piece Chester and all the others who don't have to suffer anymore. Much strength for the Families and friends.
One more Light remindes me of Breaking the Habit kinda.
There was an interview afterwards with another band member talking about the rehearsals. This was the furthest Chester made it through this song that day, a very moving performance and definitely one of my favourites.
That fucking scream haunts me, and makes me cry. Man do I wish Chester was still alive. RIP man
Just a bad day, returned to my place, checked my phone and saw this notification; as if it's calling me for solace! And I did take refuge to escape a few moments of desolation. Sometimes you, beth, overwhelmed my consciousness of sadness by your supportive talks, sometimes the strong bass in the music did. But all the while, it was me and chester; and I had this cosmic sense that the way I feel every time I hear this song, chester did too some day. And his friend who wrote it, did as well, when she could see death knocking at her door! Thank you beth, thank you chester. Love you both! ❤️
Finally, the tears flow. I've been reliving this and Like a Stone repeatedly over the past few weeks, literally dozens of times a day. I'm in the neighborhood where I don't want to be..........
I LOVE that you can see the emotion on your face, so many people hide that and i love being able to notice and see things like that, wonderful video Beth, well done.

I am right there with you. The smallest things sometimes can make a difference that is just enough to help someone..anyone. You are wonderful Beth and yes, his voice does break before he sings the "I do" notes twice at the very end. I remember seeing Mike Shinoda discuss that performance in an interview. This has always been a really rough song for me to stomach but its because it's so real, so beautiful and so raw.
