And it shows, it is a lot more real sounding and when he goes high at the end (to the range that would eventually be his 'normal') it gives great emphasis, power and punctuation, which is what makes it my favorite song of theirs

He's got a voice that can reach the heavens , great songwriter and musician and owns every stage he walks on, a complete artist in every sense of the word . No one else sounds like him, he's got many imitators but no duplicators . The majority of artists on the radio today, I'm not saying everyone, but a damn lot of them sound identical. He's definitely a rarity.

Aerosmith with an orchestra - a good friend was their tour organizer when they had that show. Got to see them from back stage a couple times - the work that is going on back there would totally exhaust most people! This was with the Boston Pops back in 1991 on MTVs 10th anniversary special.

At some point during the early 80s Tyler almost lost his voice. I think it was his lowest point regarding his addiction issues... Back then Aerosmith had lost its 2 guitarists and replaced them and they went to record ‘Rock in a hard place ‘. Somehow Tyler managed to sing on that record, but if you listen to him his voice is almost cracked. Still, he performed pretty good, I don’t know how but he did. Afterwards he recovered, but that particular album is a testimony of his out of this world endurance.

    • @CamaroAmx
      @CamaroAmx 4 года назад +5

Viejotrueno they were also at a low point in sales and notoriety by that point. Their collaboration with Run DMC on walk this way revitalized their career and created so many more new fans and reintroduced the band back into the mainstream. Then their albums after that (Push and Permanent Vacation) made them arguably bigger stars then they were in the late 70s. Without Aerosmith cleaning up and collaborating with Run DMC (which was neither of the groups idea. Run DMC had planned on sampling the song walk this way, as it is common to do so in rap, but they started messing around in the studio and rapping the lyrics of the song. A record company man heard it and convinced them to see if Aerosmith would actually perform the song with them on the record. Aerosmith agreed to do so and the rest is history), they would of just faded into the history books.

Dream on is not only a vocal masterpiece by Mr.Tyler, but also a masterpiece arraignment by the entire band. Classical+Rock. Stevens voice is a powerhouse of talent. A vocal legend to be sure. Surrounded by talented musicians. Such a powerful band.

The song dream on was actually based off an original piano piece that Steven Tyler’s dad (who was a professional pianist) would play at the house to warm up. The then 6 year old Steven loved the song so much that he would sit under the piano and listen while his dad played. Steven later added lyrics to it after learning how to play it himself. I’ve always wondered if they gave Steven’s dad any writing credit for the song.

3:00 I appreciate how you address this topic. When I see children and teenagers singing outside of their current range, I shudder, because though it sounds awesome, they are very likely going to blow out their adult voice. My dad trained me to sing like him, classical/opera. So I learned at a young age how to treat my voice. Andrea Bocelli is a beautiful example of what a person is capable of if they mind their instrument. From the time he first sang in 1995, at the age of 37, it sounds exactly the same now, at 61 years of age, as it did then.
Respect your instrument, and treat it well. Or you will lose it.

Steven is great "Worlds oldest living teenager".. So many stars do lose their voice with the ravages of time. Over the years a few have managed despite a crazy lifestyle to improve. Having seen Alice Cooper and Iggy pop in early years and then the way they sing now it is an amazing transformation. The depth that they bring out in concert is crazy. They might not be operatic contenders but at 70+ years old they can still belt it out. Another I saw recently is Ted Neely singing the "Gethsemane" song live at his advanced age. Good job on the review. Mick Jagger hasn't done too shabby either keeping his voice up to snuff. Meatloaf did a duet with Pavarotti …

You are soooo cute with your reaction...You should do more Rock legends or anything to do with Rock cause you seem to like their vocals more...Well it's true what they said in the 80's...Rockers had the best vocals then....Steven Tyler, has one of the greatest vocals till this day..

Honestly, Steven Tyler might have even gotten better with age. If you listen to the abridged version of Dream On that he performed on American Idol, his screams are just as good, if not better than this version.

Seen them twice here in Norway. Once at the Oslo Spektrum for the Get a Grip tour and once about four years ago or so in Kristiansand when they and Alice Cooper (who was also phenomenal) played the outdoor stage at Odderøya. They were amazing both times. If there's one thing you can rely on with most of these bands who have been doing this for decades it is that they damn well _KNOW_ how to do a live show right!

Please react to Glenn Hughes! "Burn" or "Smoke on tbe Water" from California Jam 1974 to see young Glenn.
"Burn" or "You keep on moving" from Celebrating Jon Lord, he sings with Bruce Dickinson.
    Please, you will be pleased.

As a Canadian metalhead from Nova Scotia and has to live through the whole Maritime fiddle sea chanty era of the 90's this song is a welcome breath of fresh air. So cool in composition and Brittney Slayes slayes it again and again. Awesome epic tune for sure.

Usually I don't comment on RUclips, but I'm very interested how you would react to Glenn Hughes. To me he's one of the most underrated Singers/Musicians out there. I would suggest him playing Deep Purple Classic "Burn" together with Bruce Dickinson in London. You find it here on RUclips under "Jon Lord - the Rock Legend "Burn"". Love it! Btw. a great reaction to Aerosmith. Keep going.

Maximilian Eller omg, i say it all the time React to Glenn Hughes, react to Glenn Hughes! "Burn" or "You keep on Moving" from this show memory of Jon Lord, amazing. Or maybe something from California Jam 1974 to see young Glenn combo with David Coverdale- "Smoke on the Water", "Burn" or "Might just take your life" ❤

I was obsessed with Steven Tyler and Aerosmith when I was 15 and got their logo tattoo at 16. Their music truly got me through some of the darkest times of my life!
I don't think people really understand what this vocal legend has gone through (along with the band) and he still sounds the same in his 70's! That is some pure God given talent put to use with 24/7 practice and rehearsing! Steven Tyler/Aerosmith are the best and forever will be!!!!! I've seen this video of Aerosmith's countless times and it gives me goosebumps EVERY TIME!!!
    🥰😍😘❤️🤘🏻🎤🎸🥁❤️

I'm amazed at how a man can really hit those high notes, even higher than a woman. How is this possible? I've always been impressed with the vocals on this song. Steven Tyler is just awe inspiring and spine tingling good on this song and that's why its my all time favorite song from them.
