I feel a lot of respect for the independent thinking of these men. They went against the grain with their truth and the results speak for themselves, look at the before/after pictures of the kids, their approach works. Great work!
Thank you very much, this mean sa great deal, I work very hard every day, I get precious little from it (lost money on the scale that is silly over the last few years) and put my neck on the line each and every day. Sometimes I ask my self why, but I WILL make the world a better place and somehow I am sure that I will eventually do well out of this and in a way that which still gives good value for money. Thanks again, M
I am very sorry that you are facing such adversity. If you like reading novels, you may find inspiration in The Fountainhead; it is the story of an architect who does things in a new and better way. His approach is rejected in the beginning, but in the end, he wins.

Which would be the subsequent novel of Anne Rand after Atlas Shrugged, I did buy it when I was travelling but never got around to read it. These days reading a novel is a luxury that I would not have time for but thanks for thinking about me.
I just discover your chanel, and you have made me rethink getting braces and tooth extractions, o have overcrowding crocked teeth and open bite, but my bone structure is actually not that bad as my jawline is defined, i now it might be late for me as i am 22, but i'm going to give my best effort to do this excercises and correct my posture, i am so happy you are developing this more natural alternatives. @@JadenPegdenVlogs yes! it has become a habit! I breathe better, I look better not by a mile but it's definitely better than what I would've looked like if I didn't do this. also better posture!
Not only do I find orthotropics' approch extremely interesting and exciting, much more natural and respectful with the body than orthodontics' one, but I also love the whole philosophy behind it. Overnight success is the nowadays' scourge despite what we've been told. Precious values like patience and the capacity to deal with frustration have been lost, a lost that in the long-term will be the source of most of our new generations' failures.
Very very true, M
Please engage more often and lend us your time and wisdom, Mike
This guy fixed my breathing problems and horse shaped mouth back in 2016 when i was 17 years old, for FREE. facial gains can often be up for debate, or ruled off as fat loss, but my pushed forward teeth moving into a normal position cannot be ruled out. my shortness of breathe and mouth breathing disappearing cannot be ruled out. the destruction of native people's jawlines after only a couple generations of eating soft foods cannot be ruled out
how did he do that? I have a long face, I'm 22, I'm pretty sure it's long due to mouth breathing, as I had a square face growing up
@@accepteddebate7390 yup its mouth breathing and bad tongue posture
how is that possible? mewing is supposed to make your jaws grow forward
@@michael-h5t5t yes, forwards and wider, which is what happened to me. my chin is noticeably less recessed, and my teeth spread out due to having more room. my younger brother finally listened to me and fixed his mouth breathing in the past two years, and now his jaw is chiseled after being nearly nonexistent
so mewing alone was able to straighten your teeth without any braces?
Thank you so much for this advice Dr. Mew, very helpful and honest.
He is right. I had quite a few teeth removed when I was about 12 years old and had braces for years . I am 50 now and for the last 2 years. or so I have done what he suggests and I have really noticed a difference in the bones in my face. my jaw and cheekbones are definitely further forward. What's more I don't snore at night now which used to do very loudly
This is encouraging to read because I am 40, and only wish I understood this as a child. I keep hearing about people in their 20's having success and feeling like I missed the boat.
What did you do?
@@SShow-fd3kv I make sure my tongue is always up and touching the roof of my mouth and my teeth are lightly touching top and bottom unless I am talking or eating . I still do this now as it is habit now and I don't have to think about it.
Oh God i thought i screwed up for good
Any update?
Hi, Thank you very much for sharing this knowledge. I am an 18 year old female, and I believe I have gained noticeable results through constant dedication to these principles. I suffered from mouth breathing as a child, but since finding out about the importance of keeping my mouth shut, I have absolutely dedicated myself to change this habit. Although it is difficult, it is not impossible. What helped me is keeping a mirror close to my desk, so I could check if my lips were sealed regularly. Another thing that helped me is using nasal dilators at night and a small piece of tape to close my mouth at night. If you read my comment, I think it would helpful to have a video on how to keep the mouth shut at night, as this is something that it is difficult to control. Also I'm interested in the role diet plays in facial development. Crooked teeth are a fairly recent problem. We are eating softer foods, but are we also missing out of vital nutrients?
charlotte louise have you heard of the Buteyko breathing technique? it is a regimen of exercises that promote closed mouth breathing and proper mouth posture. one of its first steps is, in fact, taping your mouth closed at night :) my physical therapist had me buy a book called Close Your Mouth by Patrick McKeown. it may be worth checking out if a therapist in your area practices it, or if not, buying the book or DVD and trying it yourself!
absolutely we are. The foods we eat nowadays will not even be regarded as "food" in old times
3:24 "GAAAINS!" Lol thanks Mew
I am literally shedding in tears inside (happy btw), your hard work, dedication, commitment to make the commener a better person is truly mesmerizing me. Thank you very very much sir 🙏. I can't thank you enough for your free videos.
Thank you Dr. Mike Mew, very well said.
Thank you also for the endorsement of Orofacial Myofuntional Therapy.
as an adult, if you adopt bad posture your image changes. This is true of anything. If you hunch over forwards you'll develop a forward position 'tech neck', if you adopt open mouth your jaw will recede. You see it with peoplew ho have no teeth, their lips and jaws 'sink' in
so if it works one way it's just common sense it'll work the opposite way. you'll need good nutrition though.
I'm starting today! Love this channel I wish my ortho had known about orthotropics and not extracted my teeth to fix my overbite

Yea I think the change is there but I also am working on my back posture and visiting chiropractor, got botox for my teeth grinding as well, makes a difference in the jaw muscles.

Thank you so much for telling us this. So informative
Thank you so so much. i'm 19 and i was thinking of getting braces , because my maxilla is a bit narrow and i have a little bit of crowding. these last years i wasn't putting my tongue on the roof and i was mouth breathing especially at night, my nose makes noises whenever i try to breathe correctly. i then noticed my face becoming disgustingly asymmetrical. and i have been searching a lot about face asymmetry and i found your channel. . it is so nice of you to share this information. if i was living in the uk i would definitely visit you. but i don't. so i'm going to follow your tips and i will update after 5 months from now. it's so hard but i will try my best to be patient (sorry for my poor english)
Please do NOT visit me. Waste of time. All the information is here for free, just work hard for a long time. M
Orthotropics Thank you for replying to my comment it motivated me so much 🙏🏻but my teeth are very asymmetrical on both sides and it makes it hard for me to keep them together when i close my mouth . so i have been thinking, would getting braces (without extraction)to straighten up my teeth (while i keep on mewing) is a good thing to do?? , i want to see the results faster.
@@n0426 did you end up getting braces? I have to decide if I want them or not by tomorrow, I don't know what to do :/
Naate xg Believe me it needs great patience. I have noticed my two front teeth starting to shit. (Try biting on hard food like carrots, try stretching your head and smile often, also keep on swallowing your saliva while you keep on mewing) It is UNCOMFORTABLE and needs great dedication. But the more effort you put in the faster the changes you notice. I would not advise you on getting braces.Seeing your hard work results is better ,it will motivate you to keep it as a habit. (Sorry if my English is not good)
Update pls , did u get braces ? What happened
Thank you for this information. I have doing tongue exercises for one year now because of my jaw pain. I am very grateful you took the time to upload this information. My pain is gone, the shape of my jaw line is changing and becoming more beautiful. One of my problems were that my neck/throat muscles were massively shortened. Once a started in the gym doing full body deep stretches, holding the tongue to the palate was not so difficult any more. I will keep observing the future development of my teeth which are also a bit crowded. (I am 42)
HAD to subscribe after this. Thank you so much Sir! Xx
Yes thank you so much Dr moo
It’s a cool watching a lot of your videos to convince me to buy chewing gum
I now choose gum every day and definitely have benefited from it
Thank you so much, u r amazing for sharing all this info!
I've found out today that I have a class II deep bite. I have been keeping my tongue on my palate but I don't think I do it during sleep. I don't have defined cheekbones - which might be because of my deep bite. I sometimes find that my tongue is between my teeth at the sides as well. somehow my Jaw muscles look quite big from the front view although I don't have very defined cheekbones and this makes my face look slightly 'unbalanced'.. I don't know what to do I definitely believe I need an APPLIANCE bt it just costs sooo much to go and see him :(
How's your progress going after all these years?
@@elmasprode I ended up getting braces (no extractions). I only had them for 6 months and my bite started to align. However I haven't been wearing the retainers, and my teeth have gone back despite keeping tongue on my palate. I do think my problem is skeletal, however I am glad I REFUSED extractions! I haven't been able to find a practice near me which provide functional appliances for adults.

Crouching is the way forwards and when I have my own house I want to design it so that we are crouching most of the time. There are African crouching stools that I've seen, now to get he family on board. M

@@callofdutygamer2810 are you suggesting not to wear braces for improvement?
Shrutiii he is right, braces can expand the teeth. You must ask what they are doing to your teeth. They have to be expanding OUT and not IN
can i mew with braces, i heard it could be damaging to facial structure and i don't wanna risk it, please i need to know
yes i wanna knowtoo
Yes, mewing is the natural tongue position regardless of braces. As long as you're not pushing too hard or against your teeth you would be fine
Went to my orthodontist after I started to mew a little in quarantine, pretty sure it slowed down my process and brang my upper jaw foward a little, which my orthodontist didn't want as he was trying to bring it back because I had an overbite. I think this wouldn't be good as it's just a continuous process of trying to get your teeth where you want by mewing, but your braces are doing the opposite of what you want. I'd say just ask what your orthodontist is trying to do or wait till you get your braces off and you get your retainer then start mewing.
sad idiot hey, why’d you do that?! if your upper jaw moved forward it means its only a matter of time till your mandible (lower jaw) moves forward along with it.. :(
Braces don’t do facial damage if they are expanding the teeth outwards.
Dr. Mew I had metal braces a few years ago with a type of braces that widens the palate and claims not to push the dental arch backward but that is exactly what it did.It made me look like a little old lady with no teeth.About 1 month into treatment I complained that I was choking , it felt like there was something in my throat ,and I couldn't breathe well when I tried to lay my head down. My palate was expanded but also crammed backward so that now the molars rub against the ramus on one side . I don't think expanding my palate more would be a good idea but I sure would like to bring my palate forward . Could the Biobloc bring the palate forward without expanding the palate (in someone who is nearly 60 yrs.) ? All my orthodontic work was done because my dentist wanted to put in a bicuspid implant that there was no room for. I never did get the implant. It is such a mess now and feels awful. I just want my face back to where it was . I never had any complaints about my teeth or looks before this ,I think my dentist just wanted to make more $$$.
Is it too late after the age of 21? Sadly this information is not mainstream and many people may find it after 21. So that why i ask. I myself am close to 21 years old.

How's the development of the gum going?
Hi I'm from South Korea and I am greatly intrested in your treatments and tongue postures because I cannot breath through my throat and airway. I am so far practicing my tongue positioning but my concern is that I have already extracted four teeth and wearing braces for about a year and half now(it's almost finished)..to be frankly, I don't want to take out my braces due to my past year of efforts and money that I put here, but I do want to keep on my tongue on the roof of my soft palate with my brace on..will it still work even with my braces on? or will it hinder the benefit by putting the tongue on the roof of the palates??
I have looked through many of your videos and really am hope to get some replies..it will help me a lot thanks:)
Tongue on the roof of the palate is extremely important. I have braces too and I'm trying to improve tongue posture :) I'm not Mike Mew but hope this helps!
There are Orthotropic doctors in South Korea!
So would getting surgery and braces be counterproductive? My orthodontist recommends a double jaw surgery, palatal expansion, and of course braces. I was wondering if the surgeon approves of moving the maxilla up and forward would that not be a beneficial surgery? Also I think palatal expansion is necessary, as my tongue does not "fit" into the palate well. I would like to get anyone's opinion because I'm stuck between two schools of thought here
What about people in their 30s or older?
wait its 2018 doc wheres the gum would definitely buy it regularly
Amazing video :)
Sir, my lower jaw is underdeveloped and lower teeths are inward as well as upper are too( but little bit) which treatment is suitable for that? Plz answer
Thank you so much doctor
Where can we come see you Dr. Mike ?

thanks for giving me hope :)
I read about Dr. Mew and followed on and off since 2013 but I thought it was kinda late for me since they took my braces off two years prior and also extracted my premolars for this. After braces I noticed a big (negative) change in my face. That's why Dr. Mew made a lot of sence to me. With the years though I just got worse, my body got used to it and positioned my head in a different way so I can breathe better my lower teeth all formed an inverted U cause tongue is pushing down. Anyways, I heard that because I don't have enough space in my palate mewing is risky for me. What can I do? Is there a solution for me other than surgery?
what if your face has already grown vertically? is there anything you can do to change this overtime?
no
i cant breathe through if I stick all of my tongue up.
what should I do?
is 4 months of braces long enough to cause irreversible damage? no elastics no extractions

What do y’all think of the vivos dna appliance??
fantastic!
Will I see great results with others orthotropic specialist in USA or Europe? (Obviously I would work hard, do the exercises, oral posture, eating and drinking habits, breathing with the nose all the time, etc)
My son is 6 and I need to find an alternative to the conventional orthodontic treatment to straighten his teeth. Where can I find this in the US?
orthotropics.com/find-orthotropics/ this website will tell you the nearest orthotropist. if you cant find someone make sure that he has good posture, eats tough foods, breathes thru nose, all the stuff on this channel. you can also use surgical tape at night if he mouthbreathes. you can ask dentists if they have the ALF appliance. A myotherapist would help a lot if you can see one. if he cant breathe thru his nose go see an ENT!
I've ended my orthodontics treatment. My teeth are straight, but my looks aren't the best. My face is assymetrical, mainly my cheekbones and eyes. All my 4th theets were torn out, and my smile is never gonna be wide and sexy again.
Another problem is that I don't know, do I have problems with TMJ/TMD. My jaw never popped out, but I hear little screeching on the left and when I make my mouth fully open, my the middle between my two 1st's upper teeth doesn't match with the middle between two 1st's on bottom. What should I do?
tmj is bone asymmetry. to correct it u would have to grow bone - to make both sides even - by hard chewing everyday + follow mew principles (miofunctional therapy). your body is made to be symmetrical, u just have to give it a chance (mew).

Bruno The Expert lol i’ve been mewing for 2 months and my mom commented that she thinks my teeth somehow look straighetr. maybe you aren’t mewing properly or you need to give it more time... also i think i’ll get braces but i’ll make sure the orthodontist doesn’t extract any teeth and that my braces are pushing my teeth outwards
@@drmosaddegh really? Then I will try more! And I am already thinking of getting braces too . What other changes did you noticed?
I'm new to this. I'm skeptical about mewing in general but not anymore. I see how it can change the shape of face. However how does it help with crooked teeth
@@jackdarby2168 it’s been 6 months and i’ve learnt a lot on this topic.
