Was in pain for 3 months and could not walk after an hour. Had an x-ray and got diagnosed on Friday with a heel spur. Here I was on youtube watching video after video trying to have me order socks, boots etc. until I stumbled on your video. It totally makes sense... Tried this yesterday, massaged my lower leg firmly, and massaged all the lumps out. Deep pressure massage. Used the side of a spoon to get the lumps out and scraped on the scar tissue on the bottom of my foot and OMG my pain is almost gone. It was all in the calves and achiles and can not believe the difference. Thank you so much

Been doing the same type of scraping with lotion on my foot and a spoon to scrape the scar tissue. That, along with icing it when the pain is really bad, stretching my calf few times a day, really helped tremendously. If you can't see someone great like this guy, try those tips I mentioned. Will take time but will work

Geez -that was a whole lot ... I used the simple Jeff Galloway (marathoner) method. The "Toe Sqwincher" - Point your toes, then contract the muscles very hard for 7-10 seconds. As though you're trying to make a fist with your toes. Switch feet. Relax. Do this 5-10 daily, throughout the day. Don’t be surprised if the muscles cramp when you do it; it merely shows that the muscles are weak or tired or need work. You can even do this with shoes on. Fix and prevents.

It’s your calf muscles that have tightened up to the point it’s pulling on your Achilles and adding excess strain on your plantar. That why it hurts in the morning because your heel has been resting all night with no strain then as soon as you step your tight calf gets called into action pulling on your tendons restarting it all over again.
Attack the calves in every way possible, stretching and deep tissue massages. When I say stretching I mean hold your calf stretches for no less than 2 minutes at a time. Get a tennis ball, find the tender spots (there will be plenty) and knots and go to town on them and I can guarantee you will feel a massive difference in a matter of days.
I’ve had this condition twice, the first time I was treating my feet and not stretching anywhere near long enough and it took me over a year to get rid of it. Second time it’s taken me 2 weeks of treating my calves and foot properly and I’m almost pain free.
I hope this helps someone at least it’s a fkn horrible condition.
Rule no1… treat your calf muscles rigorously

That is amazing. I've suffered from bilateral PF for over a year now, but my left foot is so severely affected that I have been wearing a "walking boot" just in order to work (I'm an RN and I'm on my feet 12+ hrs a day). I've had the X-rays which showed a heel spur, I've had two cortisone injections, I've taped the foot and tried multiple orthotics to no avail. I have an appointment next week to discuss custom orthotics from my podiatrist. But this technique looks like it provided her with amazing and immediate relief. Wish I lived in your area Dr. Jacobs!

Some medical Doctors that treat PF do not advise orthotics and say the best shoe for the facistis in a flatfooted shoe.
So many modern shoes for walking or running have the toes go upwards and a too high heel that help cause PF.
Gentle Massaging deep into the painful foot area and streching the foot wprked for me in 2 days 20 minutes each session
3 times a day. Check out all the youtube videos on Planter Faciitis.

My planter fasciitis in my right foot was a 10 every morning for so many months and as much as it was painful a few ways that helped cure it was a combination of daily (till this day and probably forever) early morning foot and calf stretches for up to 5 min, strengthening my legs and glutes making sure I’m still mobile and walking correctly. I along with many people didint realize that the way I walked especially when I would go on my runs was incorrect which in return over time made me develop planter fasciitis. Overtime and many RUclips videos on planter fasciitis later it’s much better, still some minor pain in the morning and after long runs but overall back to normal. Many people don’t realize that weak calves and glutes (helping support your legs and feet when taking steps) has a big part in planter fasciitis and overall healing it the quickest.

I am sorry that you have plantar fasciitis. I personally had plantar fasciitis before I invented ASTR. Typically plantar fasciitis caused by scar tissue, fascia restrictions and inflammation. In order to treat the root cause of your pain you will need to work on superficial/ deep scar tissue, superficial/ deep fascia restrictions and inflammation simultaneously. ASTR's patient tool kit has 4 tools to address these issues.

They are going to wear out long before you think they will unless you have other good shoes to fall back on. Actually I have 3 pairs of Merrill’s now. Same shoe but different colors. My Podiatrist was really big on them for plantar fasciitis.

Can't help but notice that he did not bring her back. Instead he gives you a sales pitch. Like, you, I can relieve the morning pain and even go out running or hiking. After the exercise , the pain and limp build up ...I can relieve that in a similar manner too. . However, I don't run and have cut back on hiking because until I can quit having pain it seems prudent to not risk causing more serious harm.
Maybe he would accept a volunteer to go through treatment , return to a high level of activity and come back and explain how Jacobs permanently fixed them.

If you do it yourself, you can feel how much pressure to use. He's pressing very deep into the skin, so he doesn't know if it hurts. I do these treatments myself and I press deep enough to feel and hear that scratchy sound, and I massage at least 3 times a day. It doesn't go away that quickly. There's always a sore feeling, but over a few days, the pain subsides. You need more than one treatment to feel a difference.

If she wants the best results she needs to loose about 50 lbs around her abdomin that will eliviate some of the pain without any other therapy. The rest of her body will also appreciate it. I suffered from planters and still do for a lessor extent for 12 years and tried everything under the sun to elieviate the retched pian and loosing 40m lbs of the past 6 months is yeilding the best benifits ever and I am able to walk 3 miles on most days without fear of a planters fit sidelining me. I am 72 and feel better than I did 10 years ago so once agiain loosing weight is a good place to start, your body will love you for it.

I’ve watched nearly every video on fixing PF. They are all different. Many things bring temporary relief but no real long term solution. I’ve stretched, exercised, massaged, and rested. I went to one dr (a podiatrist) that cost me $650. I saw him for 10 minutes and he recommended a $20 boot from Amazon. I don’t have the money to keep trying different treatments with no real relief. It’s so frustrating…

In order to treat the root cause of your pain you will need to work on superficial/ deep scar tissue, superficial/ deep fascia restrictions, trigger points and inflammation simultaneously. ASTR's patient tool kit has 4 tools to address these issues.
Here is my protocol for tight tendons:
      - Mild Pain Package: pain level 0-3/10

If the current therapy you are doing does not provide long term pain relief, then that means what you are doing doesn't work. The protocol I provided in my previous response is what works most effectively for my patients. More than 80% of my patients will see significant pain relief within their first 3 home treatment sessions and will be back to normal within 2 weeks of starting treatment. Hi Paul Barrington. Wondering how much pain you had and if it radiated up your ankles and/or calves. Did you have pain in your ligaments or tendons? If so, was your relieved as well? And, did you have a heel spur?

    • @paulbarrington7415
      @paulbarrington7415 6 лет назад +1

Vanessa Webber no heel spur that I know of. Sometimes it would feel like my ankle joint was dislocated and sometimes I would have soreness in my Achilles. Calf would get tight but never felt sore.

I just had foot/ankle surgery due to my flat feet . Been suffering for about 15 years so about 6 months ago I noticed that my right shoe seem to fix different. My right foot had collapsed even more and in a lot of pain . So I went to help from an orthopedic doctor and he performed the surgery. The surgery alone is very very painful. I had a torn tendon it’s been three weeks now since the surgery and I still have a lot of pain. I am hoping that this pain will soon and that I will have no more pain so I can walk with no pain. This seems to run in my family cause I have several family that have the same condition .
Where are you located Dr J ? I’ve been to a chiropractor, and I asked him about if there’s something he could do for my pain in my feet and he no help for me .

I am sorry that you have chronic foot issue. My office is in Orlando, FL. Many of our patients fly in for a 4-5 day consecutive treatment protocol and will complete our program by the time they leave. advancedsofttissuerelease.com/free-pain-relief-consultation-session-with-health-coach/
The rest of our patients do home treatment with our tool kit and online step-by-step programs.
Typically foot pain after surgery is caused by scar tissue, fascia restrictions, trigger points and inflammation. In order to treat the root cause of your pain you will need to work on superficial/ deep scar tissue, superficial/ deep fascia restrictions, trigger points and inflammation simultaneously. ASTR's patient tool kit has 4 tools to address these issues.
