    What a fantastic, in-depth, comprehensive video. I now realize that I've been doing almost everything wrong, no more going barefoot!
    I will say that the pain relieving cream that my podiatrist recommended did absolutely nothing except make a huge mess.
    Thanks for the video!

      @@beatriceward8628 I get frequent "heel spurs" which are unpredictable. There is no pain build-up or trigger that pre-warns you when the spurs are about to arrive. They just randomly happen. Some are bearable others excruciatingly painful. The medication I take seems to be ineffective. I sometimes use morphine to compensate or supplement the prescribed medicines.

    One day I got angry feeling so sore w this plantar . I said I batter my legs started boxing all my muscles in anger in my legs . I found I knot in my shin next to my shin it was sore but I got into it that pain was sharp shooting straight into my heel where the pain was . I knew I got it !massaged it out it was sore as hell . After that I did a stretch stand both feet on floor , stand only on toes whilst you let both knees go on the floor just like Muslims praying . Give your big toe and the rest a comfy stretch until not painful. No more massage only Muslim stretch ! After 5 days my. Pain went from pain 15x a day to pain 1-2 x a day in 5 days ! Find your knot !!! Release it ❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉I’m so happy

      Update : I have gone from barely being able to walk (Oct 22) to running 16 miles (Apr 23). It has been a long journey and I still have a way to go. The orthotics help to control the motion and have helped me to get here. It is hard to find shoes that work with orthotics, have flat soles, are not too squishy and don’t have a heel counter which grates against the heel spur lump. I still get some pain mainly due to the heel counter rubbing against the spur. I am currently taping cut up squares cut from gel heel cups to the lump. This helps. I am also working on some serious cross training to improve the strength of my legs, hips and feet. I am wearing minimalist shoes outside of running to strengthen my feet. Making progress, but it takes time…

    I have fibromyalgia and a heel spur on the back of my ankle. Any of those exercises would be EXTREMELY painful for me. I had a spur on the bottom of my other foot and had it removed. The surgery provided the only relief. Not everyone who has take pain medication is a addict and the guilt trip only makes those patients who must take feel even more horrible.

    • @celestecatcurren1089
      @celestecatcurren1089 Год назад

      I too have Fibromyalgia, and heel spur on bottom heel, and plantar fasciitis, on my right heel. My podiatrist via phone appointment, from the gate had attitude about the spur. He had preconceived idea that I would insist the spur was the cause of my pain. I, in no way was about to profess such a thing, and I became offended that he would have such an attitude toward me. I believe it may have been related to being a Fibromyalgia patient, or that he is sick if his job and this complaint is on his nerves! Lol. I put him in his place, in a respectful a manner of course. It was the most uncomfortable appointment I’ve ever experienced. The only thing he offered besides the bad attitude, was that he would “email me a link to a video”, that’s all. And guess what? NOTHING! He sent nothing! Such a jerk. So now I’m still suffering, can’t walk without crutches, and now on top of it, I’m now sick. In bedroom, accidentally crashed my bare foot into a table leg in dark, and ripped-back/tore a big corner section of toenail til it bled and pulsating with pain! Oh joy, my life.

      I agree about pills, I’m not of the “addicted” type. I’ve had multiple surgeries and procedures requiring pain pills, and not once have I become addicted, no matter the length of time on them or dose. They’ve grouped everyone into one box, and that’s just inaccurate to do so.
      Can you tell me more about the surgery, please ? I’ve shattered both ankles with hardware and had additional surgeries to remove said hardware, plates and 13-15 screws. My feet are scarred up inside and out, and with perma-swelling and arthritis. The last thing I needed was this Plantar Fasciitis and bone spurs! Everything hurting much worse than those without hyper sensitivity from fibromyalgia. I’m losing my train of thought, lol. Oh yah….the stretching exercises, after doing them, my pain is much worse! Heat normally helps me, but it makes it worse too. I don’t know what I can do, I need help.

      Hi.... can u tell me a bit more on the surgery to remove the heel spur?

    • @MideaMusic
      @MideaMusic 11 месяцев назад

      How are you feeling now after the spur was removed at the bottom of your foot? How is that foot now feeling? Has the pain gone away?
      I have spurs on both feet and the one on the left is small and I can manage the pain but the one one the right is twice longer and the pain in that foot is just killing me. I can barely walk, in the morning I walk with a stick.. This pain is debilitating and nothing is helping. Painkillers, massages, icepacks etc - lots of crap which does nothing to sort out the problem. Now I am looking into surgery option as I just can't walk and can't live my life. Hence your answer is very important to me and I'd really appreciate it

      What infrared light do you suggest? I have been researching that and found the Nerve Doctors on youtube and they do a very informational video on the whole specs of whats good and junk. So may companies out there do not sell good stuff! Have to have certain nanometers of light for the red light & infrared light bulbs! Not to mention have to have a pulsing light as body can heal and not get used to the steady light being on!

    I don't know how this video can help as I have spurs on both feet and I've been in a constant pain for 4 months now. From what I tried I can say that painkillers DON'T help, antiinflamatory creams DON'T help, rolling ball/can also DOESN'T help it kind of make it worse as you keep pressing already damaged tissue and inflame it even more and ice packs also DON'T help, on a contrary - heel start hurting even more. And also my muscles are not stiff because I've always done lots of stretching, so stretching won't change anything in my case.
    So please tell me - what does actually work??? To my understanding, as long as spurs are there they will keep inflaming the surrounding tissues with every single step. Aren't they?
    I can only think of surgery and soft shoe pads.

    I have had heel pain for a couple of years now. I stretch regularly and massage regularly. I have spent lots of money on shoes and orthotics and I still have no reprieve. The heel pain is so bad that there are times I can barely walk. I have tried everything you've suggested in the video. What is the next step for chronic pain?

    I got a heel raising orthotic that had great reviews on Amazon, strongly attested by doctors... It lifts and cushions the heel, but my gait changes and my whole skeleton feels tensed and I got blisters on the ball of my foot because it raised the back of the foot, like wearing a slight heel (I never wear heels). Frustrated, I took them out, but was in huge pain every time I tried using them in various shoes. Now the only shoes I have that don't kill me are Crocs slippers I'm wearing at home.

    • @Innawoods7614
      @Innawoods7614 Год назад

      Its because orthotics are bad medicine. Sure they may provide temporary relief, but what's the overall issue he was speaking of? Lack of flexibility and length of muscle/tendons. When you use orthotics or supportive shoes, it takes the work away from your feet/calves, where these muscles and tendons live. The raised heel in shoes causes that short tendon and calf muscle issue which then leads to further problems down below. Idk why he cannot see this contradiction. This in why zero drop is really the way to go. It takes time to adjust,but once I did, my leg/foot health increased drastically and now I'm working to more minimalist shoes. All of the support will make you feel better in these orthotics, but it will really only contribute to the baseline issue. He was doing great until he recommended them..

    • @trixie9777
      @trixie9777 Год назад +1

      @@Innawoods7614he didn’t recommend those heel raising orthotics. He said they could potentially relieve pain short term by providing cushion but aren’t a long term solution. He recommended *supportive* full foot orthotics and gave a great visual demonstration of why those are beneficial in conjunction with stretching. He clearly explained why minimalist shoes aren’t recommended, especially for older people. He said minimalist might be ok for younger people.

    Hey Doctor. Ive worn hoka w 5mm heel lift (thats how they come) with extra insoles. Its been good for feet but bad for lower back. I switched to xero heel drop w cushion and my back is happy and so is feet (at first) except I did it too fast and now my fascia is inflamed. My calves are simply too tight. Problem is now going back to hoka's with insoles hurt even more.
    What to do??! Like, what to wear? I can do the massage and stretch not sure what to use for foot wear anymore.

    I have a heel spur of 8 mm and my plantar fascia measures 5 mm in my left foot. I tried the store bought orthotic insert in my hoka shoes for 2 days when I went outside and got a throbbing pain for 30 mins even though I wasn’t walking just sitting in the car. I didn’t feel that pain when I took out the orthotic insert and just wore the shoes. Should I’m continue wearing the orthotic inserts?

      Sams things happened to me. I wore them a lot longer. This is where I don't agree with him. The pain was excruciating after a day at work. My midfoot is wide, and most store bought orthotics dont go under my arch. My foot never got use to it.

    I have been using the superfeet green insole with deep heel cup after I got an xray and was diagnosed with heel spur which hurts my heel's fat pad about 3 years ago. And recently got the Birkenstock sandal to wear at home too. It's harder than my superfeet but I know the soft ones won't be as supportive. I don't wear socks with the Birkenstock sandal so I am worried if hard insoles (footbeds) make my fat pads on my heels wore out quicker?

    Really wish you were in IL. I don't think it's a heel spur. I have a painful spot on both bottom of heels. It hurts with pressure. I have tried creams and a foot rasp. Nothing helps. Now the skin looks inflamed too. I have custom orthotics. I bought hokas in March. The insides of the shoes have already worn out on the outsides of my heels. I'm thinking I walk differently due to the painful spots on the bottom insides of my heels and is leading to supination.
