If they would ride as well as the lyriks and cost similar, then yes, why not.
At 1600 euro per piece, G.O.D. no!

My question is does the new 36 feel as supple and deal with big hits like the new 38? was in the market for a beefier 150mm fork to replace my Pike and was seriously considering lyrik. But now im interested in the new 36. does the new 36 feel better than the lyrik in terms of suppleness and overall performance?

      Yeah right!
      What happened to freeride?!
It was all the rage when I started biking nearly 20 years ago.
In fact it was the reason I got into biking at all!
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the first New World Disorder and almost cried when they announced there won’t be another one over a decade later..
Now they act like a 38mm single crown fork is something super extreme for an „new and unknown kind of riding“ between enduro and downhill.
Did they forget about the Rock Shox Totem?
Wasn’t freeride there long before any enduro bike?
My lord, the totem even had 40mm stanchions, such extreme, super progressive, wow much..
I think at some point it’s beyond ridiculous, like they are willingly ignoring the past, where you could get a high end freeride bike for 3800€..
I fondly remember my Rocky Mountain Slayer SS, I had the beautiful yellow Wade Simmons signature model.
Of course it wasn’t the best at climbing with its Fox DHX 5.0 Coil Shock, but climbing was definitely possible.
It has Rock Shox Lyrik, fairly light Alexrims and the amazing Truvativ Hammerschmidt FR Gearbox.
It was the best bike I’ve ever built, I whish I never sold it..
It was the ultimate Park Tool, perfectly nimble and playful handling and in the air it was super maneuverable. More than any modern bike I’ve ever ridden, with their super long wheelbases and ultra slack head angles.
Of course it wasn’t as stable, but at a certain point stability just means less fun.
Since I’m all into fun and not a bit into racing or this stupid KOM stuff, I don’t care how fast and stable a Trail/Enduro/Freeride bike goes over rock gardens.
There are real downhill bike for this type of riding.

That’s gonna be a crazy feeling fork for >160mm applications. I had a 180mm fox 36 grip2 and it just felt a little imprecise. When I swapped that bike for a trail bike and reduced the 36 to 140mm it feels so supple and precise now I bet that’s how the 38 will feel at the longer travel which would be amazing

Interesting for heavy guys! Sure! But what about lighter guys who run a 170mm fork on their bike and want to swap it?? They must buy a 38 despite a 36 would do the job perfectly. The 36 goes up to 160mm while the 38 starts at 160mm. Why didn't they make the 38 from 170mm?? I don't understand that 🤔. I ride a commencal meta 29 so 170mm up front...

Just one of the many reasons why you buy you Bikes/Parts fro WW Cyclery, they have many many people that really know their stuff and they have or will get shortly what you need. Bought an SB6tq and many parts over the years off them and they always knew their stuff, had great deals and kept their word on what was promised. I have sold in the Silicon Valley and dealt with many many Co's Corporations and no matter how big the Company culture starts at the top. If you have a knowledgable, honest, friendly or a egotistical scammer CEO it will permeate threw the company. I WWC case, you have a stand up Co as you have a stand up CEO. Thanks WWC, your efforts are being noticed!

It's pretty laughable how long it took them to catch up with DVO... Intergrated fender, Bleed valves, trying to help with off the top sensitivity. DVO has been doing this for a while and they don't need to keep revising every year to appease the sheep, they give you all the tech they have at once. It seems like the big names just hold back and give you just a little bit every year to stay more marketing focused. You can also change the travel on DVO forks 30-40mm in under 15 minutes with Included parts.

Look at RS; they have already the new Zeb(too bad is not Totem) but 1. Don't want to launch it so close to the new 38 and 2. As they can't release a big enduro/freeride 170-180mm fork with 38mm sanctions and keep the boxxers with 35mm ones, they need to launch the new boxxers as well. The problem is, the stock of Boxxers is too damn high. Because of that, they decided to wait for a couple of months for the release. #businessasusual #businessbeforeeverything

Here’s a question. I certainly don’t need a 38 on my every day trails but I’ve moved to owning only one Enduro type bike that can take 160mm and 170mm forks. Aside from the weight, which I don’t care much about, does the 38 “feel” too burly on flow trails compared to the 36? I figure I can just buy a 170mm air spring for when I go on a week’s trip to a bike park.

I would like to buy a fox38 from you. I have a yeti sb150 frame. I see you are riding on SB 150 with FOX 38 pistachio at 170 mm and 44 offset and orange 180 mm and 44 offset. my question is how both FOX will behave. because the yeti packs 170 mm with 37 offset. I think about 180 only there is 37 offset and a larger jump, how does it go and will it worsen or improve clambing or pistachio only there is the same 44 offset and will it worsen or improve clambing and how does it go? you can give your feedback, it is very important to me.

I hope they apply better or more bonding agent on the steerer tube and stanchion on the CSUs. Had one fox and 2 rockshox forks in the past couple of years develop creaking/cracking sounds after abt a year. Loctite 638 solved the issue on 2 of the forks which pretty much confirms it was a bonding agent failure. Annoying when you pay so much for forks these days.

    Great video Jeff!
Maybe one of you can help me:
Even though I regularly overtighten the stem bolts to 8Nm (it sais 6Nm in the manual) my handlebar sometimes turns. Often I notice it at the end of a downhill segment, but I've found out that it happens when I charge through rough rock gardens or stuff of that kind. I don't really want to overtighten them anymore, guess they won't safely take 10Nm or the aluminium of the stem will start breaking. I've thought about smearing carbon gripper paste onto the steerer tube though... It's a Lyrik if that matters, and I've tried three different stems.
    Any tips are welcome!

Fuck I miss the rs totem, they should totally do a remake, maybe black stanchions but keeping the 40 diamiter, a comical steerer and a boost hub spacing

Fox are still scared off weight like Rockshox as the Fox 36 180mm converted to coil is lots better. Like I am using the Twin crown 180mm Boxxer fork air and its good especially high load areas which would do the Fox 36 in. I still think the Boxxer fork would be better with a coil conversion.
