Awesome thank you... After we finished we realized "crap, this is going to be way too long" but we figured some people may want to know more, the rest can fast forward. haha.
Thanks for the excellent info been using Fox forks since early 2000 have been riding naturally aspirated and e-bikes the last 3 years just picked up Reign +1 3wks ago used your info to fine tune unreal 👌 Cheers mate, Herron W.A
no. the 38 of my friend are creakying like hell on the csu. and unfortunately he has a dispute with fox germany, because fox said that this is not a warranty case.
I hope they have reduced the amount of CSU issues for the cost of these things. Performance v reliability. Seems fox doesn’t put the emphasis on the latter!
Head to head with the Zeb! I've already bought a Zeb and will be installing it soon. Just want to see if I'm missing anything versus the Fox 38. At 60 I'm not a radical enough rider to justify the extra cost between the two. Just a fat ass that wants the plusher ride with that extra stiffness on my new e mtn bike.
6:30 this is not true the channels have nothing to do with the air in the lower legs. If you watch Vorsprungs tear down video he explains that the natural air volume in the lowers was adding a lot of "untunable" progression which sucked for light riders. However the new 38 actual uses a 36mm air shaft in a second tube which lets the air from the lowers flow up and around the airspring/tube creating a larger "lower leg" volume and therefore stopping the unwanted progression.
Perhaps Vorsprung knows more than Fox's own Q&A sheet and engineers then? This is directly from Fox, and how we reported it. Q: What are the ridges on the back of the fork legs? A: Those ridges are internal channels that dramatically increase air volume in the lower legs, reducing pressure buildup near bottom out, and allow bath oil to lubricate the foam rings, seals and bushings as the fork compresses and extends.
@@TheLoamWolf I mean they are technically correct However the channels wouldn't make much difference in the grand scheme of things probs Marketing departments idea. Anyway if you watch the teardown it's super interesting the amount of work they put in to redesigning the Airspring to give it a coil like feel.
Depending on how much you weigh and/or how aggressive of a rider you are, either could work. We'd say that for most riders and this category of bike, the 36 will be pretty solid way to go. That's what we put on ours and put the 38 on the full power Levo.
10:20 "we didn't believe this was a factory fork, we thought they might have gave it the race tune" That's literally what factory means. Its the same fork they give the fox factory riders. Even in motocross, a factory bike costs about $300,000 where as a regular one costs about $8,000. That's why they are called factory riders. Either way, amazing review. I just wanted to point that out for anyone wondering. Factory means the best. Literally no better. Google "what does factory bike mean?"

Yes I would like to see the 38’s do battle!!! I am not sure yet witch one I would like to purchase so please do the vid!
Zeb vs 38 please, I want to upgrade but don't know which one I'd want more.
Zeb for budget, 38 for performance
yes that's the vid everyone wants. Can't imagine @Antti Haring tried both, probably just talking out of bunghole.
@@TeamCykelhold I'm sure the ZEB works as well as the 38 or Sam Hill probably wouldn't be using it.
You know we want it!
Yes please. I have a custom Trek Rail 9.7 and I already upgraded to a Lyrik. Now I'm thinking about the ZEB.
Yes definitely do a head to head comparison between Zeb and 38!!!
Sweet review. Thank you for going into the technical details of the fork. That's my favorite color that Fox has done.
Awesome thank you... After we finished we realized "crap, this is going to be way too long" but we figured some people may want to know more, the rest can fast forward. haha.
I don’t remember ever seeing this colour out on the trails , can’t say I’m a fan

Naturally aspirated!! Hah!
Argh, I wish I jumped on the Pistachio when it was offered
Yep. I’d love to see a comparison of the Zeb and the 38!

The big bopper fight out - Zeb v 38 💪🏻
Pistachio is a beautiful color!
Yes it really is.
Yes. Do the head to head
I'd like to see a 38 vs zeb vs mezzer tbh. I'm curious how the underdog punches in this fight
Def head 2 head!! And keep the excellent content coming!!
Great review! H2H with Zeb would be interesting to see & hear! Thx 👍😁
I agree I want to see the battle of the 38’s. The new arch on the fox is not very nice looking too me but not a deal breaker.
Just another awesome review from the crew at LW! Keep up the great work and keep the content flowing. Yes, time for the Zeb to roll head to head.
Thanks very much Paul. We appreciate the feedback and glad to hear you liked it. We'll get to work on mounting that Zeb.
Yes, test ZEB on Trek Rail 9.9 you must do ! :) 2021 Trek Rail will have a ZEB so want like too see you test this
Excellent review and explanation! I want one for my Rail! Please do a comparison with the Zeb though, that would be awesome!
Coming soon!
Do you have any problemas using a 58mm crown diameter on a 68mm frame? Is that ok this setup?
Awesome review! I'm actually pleasantly surprised to hear that the suppleness actually seems better!
Way more better! haha.
Zeb vs 38 please! Gone through 2 CSUs on my 36 in 6 months - @theloamwolf have they fixed this on the 38?
no. the 38 of my friend are creakying like hell on the csu. and unfortunately he has a dispute with fox germany, because fox said that this is not a warranty case.
@@svartaska well shit! That sucks
Get your 36 coil sprung using the push industries upgrade
Now I want one on emtb along with new shimano motor and new yt 700 battery....2021 Yt decoy???
38 vs Zeb head to head plz!
I hope they have reduced the amount of CSU issues for the cost of these things. Performance v reliability. Seems fox doesn’t put the emphasis on the latter!
Man, can I add this fork to my 2022 specialized stump jumper comp alloy?
Yup, the Fox 38 is the best fork I've ever ridden. Period!
Sir when?
For someone 185lbs, would it make sense to stick with the 36? Does that have all the same features but in a lighter package?
curious, what were your settings? I'm about the same weight.

Zeb or 38 ??????????
Do you think it would be to stiff for a light rider? I’m 150 pounds with gear.
Looking for a Fork for my LEVO SL
Ty for the video.
Great Review!
Glad you enjoyed it
Is this an e-version of the 38 on the trek? im thinking of upgrading, should an e specific fork needed for a 38? tnx
Vvc seems to translate to, wider range but less refinement for advanced riders
yes a head to head comparison
Thoughts compared to the mezzer? I am running one currently and have it as the best fork I have ever run
Yes the 38 vs Zeb world be awesome shoot out
Would love to see 38 vs. Zeb
Nah.... don't want to see a Zeb v 38 video. /s ....YES we want a Zeb v 38 video!
What’s the travel on this fork? I’m about to pick one up.
Yes 38 vs Zeb
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh ya definitely the head to head
What shock would you pair this with for 160 travel pedal bike?
Have you ridden the Zeb yet? You can't really say it's the best fork if you aren't comparing it to its competitor.
Head to head review!!!
Coming soon!
Lets see the zeb review!
Can you guys do a Zeb vs 38 vs mezzer? Seems the mezzer is fishing in the same pond at a different budget
We'll see what we can do here and try to get one!

Zeb v. 38 please
Setup plssssse
Better than fox 40?
How does it compare with the DVO Onyx?
Been a while since we've ridden one, but they have some similarities in suppleness and sensitivity, but based on my old recollection, I'd pick the 38.
Great video!! Thinking of upgrading my Levo SL from the stock Fox 34 to either the 36 or 38. Any recommendations?
