NONE of my critiques on the writers' WORK, is a reflection on how I feel about them as PEOPLE. I was brutally honest in this video about my feelings on the comics, but please know I mean no malice or hate to the writers. I respect, and am actually a FAN OF every writer i talked about in this video.

African Americans still suffer from post slavery and self identity issues,such as calling themselves black people, when in reality this is a false bs label and narrative spread by gringo people. I'm Hispanic mexican and African. My mom is African American and her whole family are various shades of light to dark brown skin. Not a single one of them has black skin except black hair. Even the dude in this video contradicts himself. When he rightly says wakandans are brown skinned then later refers to them as black people. In Africa no African tribe called themselves black people until Arabs and Christian gringo pagans turned up. The guy in this video himself is brown skinned with black hair. Only a ignoramus would call him black. Unless they are referring to his hair colour. Black is NOT an ethnicity at all. Unless someone is talking about black animals such as a black bear, cat etc. The darkest African from the Sahara are refer to as blue people. They are so dark that they have literally a blue outline and their skin is super dark and has a grey blue tone. But yet they are still not black like their hair which is clearly a different colour from their skin. My God do I have to give a breakdown every year to my African American peoples because they are brainwashed by gringo bs narrative and false labels from slavery days.

What's going on with Black Panther is similar to what's going on with Spider-Man. Comics will do this every now and again where they have LONG arcs of our heroes going through hard times or acting out of character, getting beat up and suck to his lowest. Its a good story if they can raise them up but its hard to watch and only works if there's a plan set in advance.
First Mr.Fantastic get's cucked by Namor, then poor Colossus get's left at the altar, now Black Panther get's played! I have one word in the word of Farooq, DAMN!!!!!
Personally I think the biggest issue with Black Panther is he gets over shadowed by Wakanda, so theirs not enough focus on him or his development.

My first introduction to Black Panther was with that Animated movie with Hydra and Captain America.I have vague flashbacks abt it but i remember being dope and kinda scary

I agree that Reginald hutland's run is the best. The book is told from the perspective of T'challa and he is a brilliant strategist, scientific genius and one of the best martial artists in the world. I think Disney has certain sensibilities that they're trying to pass off in the comic books. Marvel has not been the same since it got purchased by Disney. I don't think the black panther movie does Justice to the character of T'challa. But unfortunately, everyone thinks that is how he's supposed to be because of that damn movie.
Facts, like dont get me wrong i LOVE the Black Panther movies, but the way T'Challa is characterized just isnt very accurate to the comics. They NEVER show off his intelligence (hes literally on par if not MORE intelligent than Reed Richards) and he just doesnt have that stoic, mysterious, "man with the plan" vibe that he has in the comics. Chadwick stil played the role great, and I dont think MCU "destroyed" Black Panther, i just think it couldve been better. Whats funny is that T'Challa was more comic accurate in CIVIL WAR, than he was in his own movie.

Also, his marriage annulment is pretty old. It happened during Avengers vs X men after Namor flooded Wakanda. T'Challa branded the X men as enemies of the state, which included his wife. This was in 2013. They reconciled during the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda, but Ridley broke them up again
I mean....all comic book characters have had bad runs.
Coming from a VERY longtime Black Panther fan( Everything but the " Kirby Run"), I truly feel that the whole " Shuri" character was needless and put us on the Outright TERRIBLE Path we are currently on. I can't even touch the book now. Definitely disagree with the " Dora" sentiment. Priest made them as possible concubines, representing the various Tribes that were still " in competition ". Understandable in such a Culture, said culture actually being the Strength of the book. Wakanda was never meant to be " America ". NOW the Dora are a "Bad Black" Amazon imitation. They were " personal Guard" Not the Wakandan Army😢... just another Black male Cuck😢...MAJOR props must go to Priest, who incorporated the Vibranium into the suit, Energy knives, Satellite tech and a DEFINITELY more offensive " Stance" in Marvel's Pantheon. Suddenly " The Kitty Mascot" ,had Real " Mojo". Marvel has nearly destroyed a Great character.
Hudlin was the beginning of the end for sure.
Operations Killswitch make a lot of sense coming off of coates runs as he was almost got topple because the people feel like t'challa can't protect them after doomwar avengers vs x men and the battle against thanos
The real problem is the awful writers at current marvel. Almost every great hero has been “deconstructed” and just end up embarrassed/cucked/shamed
Intergalactic of wakanda was 🔥. They put storm and tchalla back together and he became an emperor.

Storm and t"challa broke up way before coates and ridley run their relationship ended after namor flood wakanda and t'challa ended it because storm chose to be on the x men side instead of his
I know, but in Coates/Ridleys run, they were rekindling their relationship, and you can tekll they were going to get back together. Ridley however just destroyed it all and changed both Storm and T'challa for his story

Ta-Nehisi Coates did well with the Killmonger mini series, but to me his writing is not good for a long run.
The one thing that you’re missing is that the first half of Coates run was actually selling well. I believe issue #1 sold damn near 500000 copies. And I personally love the first half of Coates run, the second half where he’s in space…. Not so much lol
I never said that it didn’t sale well. I literally said in the video that although his comics weren’t really looked at as great, they still were pretty successful. There was a lot of hype going on around black panther because he appeared in the civil war movie, and later got his own movie, so I think that’s why so many people were reading Coates’ run, because it was easily accessible
Of course he sold well. The movie had just come out.
Something I've said for sometime now is that Black writers cannot write Black characters. Black Panther written by Jonathan Hickman, Russos>>>>>>>Black Panther written by John Ridley, Coogler, Coates.
I don’t think the race of the writer is really the problem. The problem is the agenda being pushed. Most of the black writers you mentioned are from the modern age of comics. And we all know how trash it is.
@@bigevil1001 Jonathan Hickman, and even we can throw in Jason Aaron are from the modern era of comics and they had a significantly better portrayal of T'Challa than the Black writers listed did. David Liss also had a better BP run than them. Sure the race is not relevant to a writer's talent but it is a pattern I think that needs to be acknowledged.
Christopher Priest's run on the Black Panther was not that bad when I read it. I think I got a copy of the TPB stashed away somewhere. It was the first Black Panther comic I read and I was in high school. Didn't read many of the issues on Huddlin's run. I was reading DC and indie comics during that time. I will have to read the Huddlin' run.
Saying Coates run was boring and enjoying Ridleys is wild

Coates came in arouhd the all new all different era. Lots of non comic writers flooded in, many of which cared more about activism alone than any kind of good story telling. That kind change torpedoed marvel and dc to this day

RESPECTFULLY, I gotta disagree. Hudlin’s run is inferior in every way. Priest’s run was a deconstruction & social commentary on American Culture, Black culture, Interracial relations, and comic book culture. Hudlin straight up just wrote an action comic. It felt dumbed down & T’Chala was written as a “black superman”. Priest wrote T’Chala as a flawed man trying his best in a complicated world. Please revisit Priests run, I really think you got it wrong. RESPECTFULLY

Characters that have an unspoken rule that the writer has to share their identity tend to suffer writing wise.
Brian Azzarelo isn't a woman but his new 52 take on Wonder Woman was fantastic.
I tried reading Coates' Black Panther run but it was too 'written' and thus, boring.
He couldn't adapt his writing style to comics. The idea that being black alone makes him qualified is ridiculous.
I want to read the best pitch from the best writers regardless of their identity.
I never read Bryan Hill's run but his recent Blade series was excellent.
I hope Bryan Hill gets a shot at any character he wants regardless of their identity.
