  • I've finally got my hands on some Wharfedale Diamond 230's. How do they compare with my Diamond 12.1's?

Ive had these before the 12.2s, they obviously sound larger cover the room better but sound quality wise they are not even close to the 12s. So much more detail to be heard on the 12.2s, much more balanced and better quality bass dare I say!

12.2's have a bigger cabinet and a larger bass driver than my 12.1's so I'd imagine they would definitely compete in the bass department.

@@UTILITARIANTVUK just a wee bit larger as Wharfedales have always measured driver sizes from the edges of the basket and not from the centre of the surround rubber to the other. My 6 and half inch, woofer that is (hahaha!), certainly doesnt look like 6 and half inches and I can bet your 5 and quarter inch looks like its 4 inches. Bloody cheaters. Hahahahahahaha!

      Yes they do!

@@-MarkWinston- yes true. Even I also thought that the size is of cone but it is not. But it seems the same is done by most brands. I have SVS elevation the same thing.

@@sanonmars wharfedale definitely outdo other brands in this regard... the 6 and half inch looks a wee bit smaller than the 5 and a quarter inch i have when i put it side by side.

I don't know why,but I prefer the idea of bass ports as opposed to coming out of a gap at the bottom.

i have these. i put them on marble slabs to 'tighten' the low frequencies. the lows now 'fill the room' as if they weren't coming form the speakers. astonishing.

How does q acoustics 3050i compare to these? Which goes better for Yamaha avr, i don't like ear fatigue but same time I don't to to miss the details in the sound track.

Just quoting what it says on the tin but I guess your going to tell me something about measuring from inner part of the speaker as they measure from the outer part?
