It's fairly understandable; Elvis was far more of a singer than an actor; you might've seen him turning to acting later on in his career (had he not passed on when he did), but up to then, assuming John Lennon did tell him that, he was right: Elvis DID belong on stage, not in the movies.

In the end Elvis felt threatened by the Beatles because of their prowess at songwriting. DOn't get me wrong, Elvis is the KING and The Beatles are THE BEATLES both are legends.
The Beatles also admired Chuck Berry & Little Richard and others. They were Teens in The Rock n Roll Era.🇺🇸🎵🎸 ( I would have been playing records on his Wurlitzer Juke Box!😅)
They might have some born and played and sang before Elvis but no one could do what Elvis did. I remember they had a vote on the Beatles and Elvis won. That was in the sixties.
I'm sure many of us have seen the Beatles' perspective on this from Anthology. They were sad that he wasn't really working on music during those movie years, plus he'd become surrounded by hangers on. Let's face it, the Mafia have said similar things in later years. John in particular wanted the pre-army Elvis, who'd changed the rock landscape just as they would a decade later.
I’ve always disliked the competition & comparisons between the Beatles and Elvis. The Beatles were a group and Elvis was one man. They existed in separate musical universes so comparisons were completely unnecessary & useless

Easy to sugar coat it now, but Elvis HATED the Beatles. They intimidated the hell out of him because they were younger and were changing the game right before his eyes. I love them both, but Elvis had a LOT of insecurities and paranoia, much of it brought on by Col. I've seen this not long ago where the Beatles were there there is film footage of this Elvis said if your not going to talk to me I'm goi ng to bed, it's around somewhere as I saw it in the last year
Supposedly, according to one account, it was said John (Lennon) had told Elvis toward the end of the meeting, something to the effect that "he belonged on stage & not in the movies". It's fairly understandable; Elvis was far more of a singer than an actor; you might've seen him turning to acting later on in his career (had he not passed on when he did), but up to then, assuming John Lennon did tell him that, he was right: Elvis DID belong on stage, not in the movies.
Picture of Elvis on couch with bass wasn't when he met the Beatles.
Since i was a Teenager, i loved Elvis so much! He was everything for me! I like the beatles also! John Lennon was a big Elvis Fan. So, i was very sad and angry that Elvis say to the Präsident bad things about the beatles 😔 nobody should say things like this... i think John Lennon was disappointed about Elvis...
what bad thing?
The description in this video is wrong. There were some photographs taken of Elvis and the Beatles outside just as they were leaving by paparazzi photographers. I'm aware of at least 3 or 4.
Every little town I go in the world there is always a shop named ELVIS.
Why there wasn't a concert of Elvis and the Beatles.
The Beatles had their own music. So how would a cover artist preform with the Beatles who preformed their own music. Maybe Elvis could have sung along at a Beatles Venue or just lip sunc'ed if he couldn't remember how the song went.
Thanks Graceland.
I love it
Why no cameras around? It was not alouded?
The reason they were quite and did not say anything was because they were British, that is what we do. We are very reserved at first.
I thought those from Liverpool were quite outspoken?
Where are the photos from the entire encounter?
Pricilla You are a great woman!
Beauty at first sight attract the king. Young Cilla is very cute.
Great woman? She just knew how to marry well.
Agreed!!!

Love it ^ ^
Are there any pics with the king and beatles?
Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll but Rosetta Tharp was the Grandmother of Rock and Roll and the Blues and Elvis Loved this Black woman who was way ahead of her Time in playing an electric guitar...
JA IMAGINOU ROLOU NESSE ENCONTRO
That's a British boy for ya. They are humble, sweet and truly 'on the ground'. I was married to one for 13 years. HUMBLE.
Amazing starstruct I mean both ELVIS and the BEATLES there is nothing to say lets start playing forever thanks.
In the end Elvis felt threatened by the Beatles because of their prowess at songwriting. DOn't get me wrong, Elvis is the KING and The Beatles are THE BEATLES both are legends.
ONLY ONE ELVIS
The Beatles also admired
Chuck Berry & Little Richard
and others. They were Teens in
The Rock n Roll Era.🇺🇸🎵🎸
( I would have been playing records on his Wurlitzer Juke Box!😅)
As a Brit Elvis is the only American I will all ways have have respect for rip king 👑
They might have some born and played and sang before Elvis but no one could do what Elvis did. I remember they had a vote on the Beatles and Elvis won. That was in the sixties.
Today every triviality is recorded with smartphones and from this historic musical event there is nothing left.
elvis so handsome
Sons meets Rock father.
Can you imagine if they recorded it??
very interesting

52 years ago today 27th August 65
I wished they also meet their idol Holly, but sad to say he died.
Why meeting of them not recorded..? Even there're not photos.
She tells the story so differently than the way each of the Beatles did. Based on all their stories, I think the lads were just stoned. Though when John met his sex idol Brigitte Bardot he also behaved ultra shy. I think he was high at that time too.
Did john lennon ever go to graceland? or is this an error in reporting?
I have read and heard different accounts of the meeting. Both parties were nervous. Also, I take Pricilla's version with a large pinch of salt but most of it was okay-ish.
She was there though. The other accounts actually put Elvis saying, "If you all are gonna stare at me all night, Im going to bed." Sounds like Elvis.
Apparently elvis was so nervous about meeting the beatles he was physically sick with nerves and vomiting
1:33 what footage is that from?
you can see john on the ed sullivan show spliting his legs as he sings he said he was influenced by elvid and immitated him
Easy to sugar coat it now, but Elvis HATED the Beatles. They intimidated the hell out of him because they were younger and were changing the game right before his eyes. I love them both, but Elvis had a LOT of insecurities and paranoia, much of it brought on by Col. Tom and much of it due to the fact that he was ELVIS FREAKING PRESLEY and no one, including the Beatles, knew what it was like to walk in those shoes.

What?
Do some of you just dream up stuff and write about it?
DeliviaMusic ; I too had read a long time back that The meeting between Elvis and The Beatles was very uncomfortable and there wasn't much love between them.
Elvis covered their songs. He wouldn't've done that if he hated them.
If Elvis was the father of rock and roll then The Beatles were the Godfather of rock and roll.
When the Beatles the Stones and the rest are long forgotten Elvis will still be No.1. Most amazing voice looks and talent. We were very blessed to have him in our lives. He most certainly will go down in history as the best ever!!
Imagine being yourself. This is in fact the meaning of life.Be yourself if you can remember who that is.
wait isn't Elvis only 3 years older than John and 2 years older than Ringo?
Like 5 years older on both.
Elvis was born in ‘35, and Ringo was born about ‘40
