"Couple of cups of tea"
Those boys got high as a kite before meeting Elvis lol
That's George referencing the Rutles film again. 😄
George was the only one that met him again in 1974 at the Forum in Los Angeles.
It is amazing how much the Beatles loved Elvis even till the end..
True!!!!
I'm sorry but Paul McCartney being on a boat for his interview is just hilarious 🤣😂
i thought that was a food truck
True!!!!
He is NOT Paul McCartney.
He bought the boat in 1987
@@NaaHvayes he is
Greatest line has to go to Paul
"I mean it was elvis. He just looked like elvis"
😂😂😂
I know Right!!!!
Just like he looks like Paul McCartney.
@@NaaHva William looks nothing like JPM.
@@nadiachristiansen7599 No. Just like his son James. You would have expected the son to have a huge significance with the Paul from 1964. But no, there is none.
Furthermore, James is the spitting image of Vivian Stanshall, which means Billy is "Viv".
Bet those kids were so excited to get to meet the King of the music they loved Lucky them ..
True!!!!
Elvis is the biggest singer of all time and the Beatles are the biggest band of all time.
Yes indeed!!!!
1:26 Thanks Paul I didn’t think Elvis would look like Elvis
Elvis Presley will always be the king of rock ‘n’ roll! There’s no one else like him. No one will ever be anyone like him.
Agreed!!!
The misinformation about Elvis trying to get the Beatles banned from America is so unfortunate. I remember disliking Elvis after seeing this interview. Years later I would learn the truth - that he just said whatever he thought Nixon wanted him to say so he could get that narcotics badge. Elvis was a complicated man for sure, but I'm a big fan of his now.
I never was a fan of The Beatles, I'm more of a Sabbath and Zeppelin fan. My sisters are The Beatles fans. That said, you are correct and if these guys knew anything about Elvis' personality they'd have known better too.
@@nycsue But they didn't really know him. He was kept such a mystery to the public, I don't blame them for misunderstanding him.
Elvis Presley unico inolvidable FOREVER ❤❤❤❤❤❤GRACIAS POR COMPARTIR ♥️
❤ ELVIS FOREVER ❤
It's hard to say what he thought of them... Elvis especially when the Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show in America, he behaved like a gentleman and sent them a greeting card wishing them good luck (1964), he was jealous of their success and felt threatened by them, but the meeting that Parker organized by Colonel and Brian Epstein, he could not avoid it, so he assumed that they came to him as fans (1965). As Priscilla said in an interview, she was kind to them and they were kind to her. Elvis Comeback (1968), there he declared that he likes the band. When he went to see Nixon (1970), he told him that they were taking drugs, setting a bad example for young people and being anti-American. It should be known that Elvis always felt like a patriot, in contrast to Lennon, who was pacifist and anti-war. On the other hand, he played the songs Hey Jude, Yesterday and performed Something c in Hawaii (1973). song. What might be interesting, he asked Tom Jones if it was true that the Beatles had really broken up, to which Jones replied yes, to which Elvis would have been a shame if they were the backing band...but he was joking. It's hard to say what he would have really thought of them if he hadn't been jealous.
I mean... he wouldn't sing covers of people he hate, so it's clear that he admired them.
@@Isabella-wm3th maybe he liked just their style of songs. But maybe you have right.
I think he mentioned The Beatles in those Nixon things, without thinking too much about it. He just knew Nixon would know who they were, and he wanted his badge. Let's face it, he was probably not thinking straight himself during that time.
Nah because if you look at 1:26 he lied about that Elvis was playing bass over their song, where other Beatles's guy said that he was playing bass and watching tv..
and the part that Beatles manager did fake argument on behave of Elvis famous by paying some bunch of guys to do so[Elvis dead].
so when Parker knew about that kind of playing he did the same at Elvis comeback 69 where Elvis didn't knew about that kind of premade audience, but if you go hear that, and pay attention about his vocal registers you ll be shocked.
Without taking in account the music it self, Elvis is a Legendary singer who know how to sing dude, and don't forget that Beatles was British guys so they'were kind of forced star they were Boosted.., like nowadays peeking worst singer and have a solid manager you can go far as you wanted to.
Musically skills Elvis band are so professional then Beatles vocally it big difference Elvis is true legend and real entertainer.
If you doubt go hear Mcartny bassline vs JerrySchef the Father of the Bass Guitar of all time
I don't think Elvis was trying to get the Beatles out, like Ringo said. He met Nixon 8 months after the Beatles formally broke up.
Imagine being a Beatle. And then meeting Elvis Presley. All's well with the world
Yes indeed!!!!
It's like Mozart meeting Beethoven!
Lennon and McCartney are the modern day Mozart and Beethoven , Presley was just a singer who couldn’t write 1 song !
Other way around. Like Beethoven meeting Mozart. Mozart was the senior.
@@jamesinbradford5882just a singer?😂
such demeaning arrogant remarks about a legend from ordinary mediocre people like you will never cease to make laugh 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The main reason it's funny when regular people like you try to belittle Elvis is because lots of the big legendary people hold Elvis in high regards especially the Beatles!
So you may spend your entire regular life trying to belittle Elvis but you'll never succeed simply because someone regular little like you can't put down a legend much let alone a huge legend that Elvis is.
Cały zespół Beatles nie dorównywał do poziomu Elvisa on jeden mial sile i roznorodnosc, barwę głosu co oni wszyscy, przewyższał ich razem wziętych pod każdym względem KING ❤❤❤❤
Can't help wondering if that TV was the one Elvis shot. 😂
👑❤️
A lot of Elvis fans don't have the class the man had himself. Elvis never publicly criticised other artists. He was too good for that.
It seems to me that Elvis was unable to make friends with people The Colonel didn't approve of. The Beatles for example would have encouraged him to be free, and Parker certainly didn't want that.
Paul and John did the Boot Liking
Ringo shot pool with the MM
LARRY GELLAR smoked dope with George In the garden. Told him about Elvis’s favorite place in the world…
“ SELF-REALIZATION FELLOWSHIP gardens on SUNSET BLVD
George took Tom Petty there years later both have memorial services at the chapel.
Interesting
What documentary is this from?
The Beatles Anthology. DVD set.
Quote John Lennon "If your were to give Rock n Roll another name you could call it Chuck Berry"👌
John Lennon often made contradictory statements. He also said, "Before Elvis there was nothing," and, "If there had been no Elvis, there would've been no Beatles."
That is funny, because it was Elvis who took the abuse to allow guys like Chuck Berry to be heard nationwide.
"Before Elvis there was nothing" John Lennon
@@samnous2002 Lennon was right: "Before Elvis there was nothing,"
@@Richbar-qe6bx Did I say he was wrong?
subtítulos por favor 🙏gracias
The beatles were garage band amateurs compared to Elvis. They make themselves very small by knockinlng him.
dont kid yourself, what song did Elvis ever write
@@Jack-fo2pc Elvis was a performer and a player. John and Paul were pure musicians and songwriters.
Knocking him?
@@Jack-fo2pc
What songs did Lennon & McCartney write?
Elvis was real. I believe the evidence is very solid that ex-MI6 Coleman was right -- the Beatles were a Tavistock creation to corrupt the youth. Get the young into sex and drugs and you can control a nation.
@@Jack-fo2pc I can tell you have zero music knowledge if you think that all there is to an artist is the ability to write songs. Even John Lennon said ' the good ones borrow the great ones steal'. Elvis was the greatest performer and artist of all time
Elvis career was falling down, he felt threatened by the Beatles who were becoming huge. I mean I know he is dead but talks really bad about Elvis the way he treated them and saying the Beatles were enemies of the U.S. tipical attitude of a hurt ego. Sorry but not sorry, Elvis didn't have the same talent than them, only a singer with no other skills , but the Beatles songwriters, British, new, great songs, musitians, younger, and so on. So the "King" ego was too hurt.
When he said that it was in 1970, he was selling out Vegas every night and selling out any other larena in America and a few years away from the Aloha special viewed world wide by over a billion people.
I don’t believe the beetles were even together at that time, they certainly were not touring. His comments were more geared toward Lennon specifically
Yeah so maybe he was very jealous of John. @awakentotruthmichaelsmith4698
This misinformation needs to STOP! Elvis would say anything Nixon wanted to hear to get his badge... but honey, Elvis wasn't jealous of the beatles. He didn't write any songs, that's true, but Elvis has a better singer, a better entertainer in general, people liked his personality a lot more (he was not as problematic as John), of course they were younger, but still, Elvis was WAAAAAY better looking than the best features of all 4 of those ugly clowns all combined, HE WAS THE KING! Who were the beatles again? They were just Elvis' fans who had luck (yes, LUCK) because talent for singing and entertaining is something they fully lacked.
Wow! You are a fanatic. What does the looks had to do with all the talent? Seriously??? Oh and honey...im not the one who said Elvis was jelous of them, was his wife Priscila, go and complain with her..🤷♀️@lararufino6433
@monikb7923 girl, you said that 2 comments above... whatever, but taking whatever Priscilla says seriously? 🙄 it says a lot... anyway, she's his EX wife, and she shouldn't have a say.
Yes, looks are important. Of course, you're not choosing your favorite artist purely over looks, but it sure helps in your subconscious. I'm not fanatic, you're just a hater. I talked about talent too (you're free to read my comment again), repeat after me: ELVIS WAS A BETTER SINGER AND ENTERTAINER! You don't need to compose music in order to be best at singing and entertaining. Sinatra never wrote a song, Dean Martin never wrote a song, Bing Crosby never wrote a song. Do they have less "talent" than the beatles? OF COURSE NOT! They were all much better in terms of voicing than the beatles, who were a British band very well marketed and intentionally pushed (I'll give them credits for that only). What they did best was composing (and even so, it let's a lot to desire). How can a band that can not sing have such an impact? You can blab as much as you want, darling, but it was MARKETING (very well done indeed).
I could accept your opinion if you didn't write "maybe he was very jealous of John" above. That was pathetic, and even you, as a hater, know it 😂
why is Paul giving this interview through a food truck?
Hahahaha I think is a boat
Hey, those EMI and Northern Songs lawsuits didn't pay for themselves, got to make money somehow.
@@victorchavez8281You’re right about that!!!!
