Do you think Elvis really saw The Beatles as ‘Anti-American’ or was he threatened by their success in the states? 🤔

Elvis Presley never issued an album called 'Heartbreak Hotel'. It was actually his debut hit single for his new label RCA in 1956.

And of course none of that. proves that Elvis "hated the Beatles". And saying that Lennon hated Elvis's lamps then following that by saying he "probably" said something snarky" about them, ..well, does that prove he did say something snarky or not? I guess we don't really know now do we. Inserting the word, "probably" in that statement only indicates it's rumor or assumption and not proven fact. Also, the notion that Elvis tried to get Lennon kicked out of the country is false. It was Nixon that actually tried to do that because it was Nixon that hated John Lennon. Presley did however say that the Beatles "had been a real force for anti-American spirit.” Some might actually agree with that statement in general. But then again, young people in America were already starting to rebel against their elders and traditional culture in the late 50s even before the Beatles arrived. Some of that can be attributed to Elvis coming n the scene himself. He was after all, a sort of rock and roll rebel in the 50s. But regardless, to directly tie Elvis's remark about the Beatles contributing to an anti-American attitude and their effect on American youth to an attempt by the FBI's attempt to get Lennon out of the country can't literally be proven. LBJ himself was already pissing people off with the war without the Beatles. Elvis's primary goal with Nixon and the FBI was to get a narcotics badge, Beatles or no Beatles.

Yes, but in this case politics served to justify his jealousy. An overblown ego that obscured the fact that he was, not the King, but a great musician, among the greatest.

Well, Elvis outlastet The Beatles, didn't he? He was in Hollywood making movies when they came out. He starred in 31 movies and didn't perform live in 8 years. He came back big time with the '68 Comeback Special, Las Vegas Shows, and the first satellite sent consert, Aloha from Hawaii 73. His health and drug problems was what led to his downfall, but every conserts was outsold to the last. He loved The Beatles' music, you can hear him cover several of their songs on RUclips.
The hilarios story " We were there when Elvis met Nixon" is on RUclips.

@sableonblonde1973 I never said it does. My point was a lot of people seem to think Elvis' career was over because of The Beatles' arrival, and that's not the case. Like I said, he was in Hollywood making movies for the better part of the 60's. The Beatles are the most selling group ever. Elvis is the most selling solo artist ever. He came first and influenced most of the artists that came after, including The Beatles.

Elvis Presley was an explosive phenomenon and my personal hero.
The Beatles are the absolute greatest band of all time and the very cornerstone of modern music.
Every band and every solo artist owe a debt to both of these acts but this is my comment.
Elvis Presley did as a single artist what it took four men to do.
John Paul George or Ringo in their solo careers have yet to match Elvis's career as a solo artist
    That's just my thought

My goodness they could write songs not my style but very awesome. No they were not better musicians; Elvis knew music theory like the back of his hand and could play guitar, piano , bass and drums. Beatles knew no music theory and their music was very simple but very good [not my style]. Elvis only wrote one original song that we know of, however he changed the words to many songs. There was a reason to why he didn't write songs.
