My Big Sister had an Elvis story. She was working as a receptionist at, I think Arista Records, & one day the phone rang & the man on the other end said, "Can I speak to your boss, this is Elvis Presley"? My Sis replied, "Yeah, right, & I'm Ava Gardner" & she hung up. (My Sis' name was actually Ava & she was named after Ava Gardner.) About 15 min later, she had her head down, working on some stuff for her boss & someone placed a dozen roses on her desk. She looked up & a man, standing in front of her said, "I really am Elvis Presley. The next time I call, please believe me" & with that, he walked into her boss' office. She thought for sure she was going to be fired but Presley didn't get her in trouble.
met elvis back when i was 15, i was helping my uncle out at his diner while his waitress was on her honeymoon, elvis comes in and buys a bunch of food for him and his guys nearly cleared out our kitchen, then leaves a 300 dollar tip and on the way out he tosses me this gold chain and says "here you go kid, keep it, your a good kid for helping family" i still have that gold chain to this day, i also have a photo of him and me that he signed, he apparently really liked how i was helping out my family
My Dad was from Memphis and one day, in his teens, he was walking home and Elvis’ limo pulled up, Elvis rolled down his window and asked my Dad if he wanted a ride. Dad said sure and hopped in. Elvis talked to Dad all the way home. My Uncle served in the Military with Elvis.

I was so blessed to have met Elvis in 1956 at the Olympia Theater in Miami, Florida. My cousin was president of his fan club and she had called the theater and spoke to Col. Parker, asking him if we would be able to meet Elvis and he said we could. When we arrived at the theater, we saw Col. Parker in the lobby. She introduced herself and asked if we could see Elvis. He said no, that he was too busy. I turned around and saw Red West and asked him, "Aren't you Red West?" I told him what happened with Col. Parker and he said, "Come with me." We walked up the steps to Elvis' dressing room and he went in first to tell Elvis we were there. When he came back out, he told us to go right in and we were not only able to meet Elvis, but he signed about 50 autographs for our fan club. That was unbelievable!!!! Another thing that is unbelievable is that my sister, who was with us, had her camera and was so awestruck, she forgot to take his picture LOL.
From what I have always heard he himself was a nice guy. Some of the others around him weren't so sweet. There was an older lady friend in our neighborhood that was from Bad Nauheim Germany and was an older teen when he was living there. She used to tell me her ' Elvis stories ' from time to time, like how she and her friends used to carry photos of him in case they ran into him in a store or something and could get him to autograph photos that they could sell and make a few bucks. There was a time that this happened and she was carrying a stack of photos with a stack of stationary on the bottom. Colonel Tom did not like anyone getting ANYTHING for free and frowned on Elvis signing photos for girls but Elvis being the nice guy that he was would sneak some in . He grabbed her stack she was holding and while the Colonel wasn't looking signed a bunch of them but he just flipped it over and was signing the blank stationary paper. She got a bunch of autographs but not on the back of pictures that she could sell. She also told me about how Elvis' father and Colonel Tom Parker were really nasty, rude and dirty people for her small town. She said that the two of them would chew tobacco and spit it in the curbs and on the sidewalk. She said that was about the equivalent of opening their pants and urinating in the street. She said it was just like in the movie ' G I Blues ' to where Elvis was driven into town to the base in a sports car, only Elvis never drove, he had one of the entourage drive him in and then that fellow would hang out in town all day till Elvis got out. A lot of her friends would talk to him while he was hanging out waiting. On occasion they might be invited to parties at his apartment and she said she herself was invited once but didn't go as it was too wild and ' risky ' for a young girl.
@@cherylmcnutt9905 Elvis was a Solo artist. The Beatles were a group and there’s a big difference when you have to carry that fame and success on your own shoulders. Secondly, I always thought the Beatles were way overrated. Elvis will always be the King of Rock and Roll.
Considering the fact that Elvis is one of the most famous people to ever live and was (and still is) adored by millions, it's amazing that he always seemed so genuinely kind and humble. Says a lot about his upbringing.

My twin sister and I met Elvis at a gas station in Toledo, Ohio, 1956, his first year of being famous. We were age 4. We knew who he was. My dad got out of the car to talk to the guy in the next lane. The next thing we know is Elvis stuck his head in our car and introduced himself, shook our hands and told us he was a twin too. We were flabbergasted to say the least! 🤗😍
@janholman192 What a wonderful memory for both you and your twin! How exciting. Since you were so young at only 4, was that either your or your sister’s first memory?
Elvis really was Royalty...other huge celebrities who met Elvis were in awe of this man....but the one thing that is constant is that he was always polite and kind regardless of if u were a celebrity or not
Look how good Tom Jones still looks. Elvis could have looked just as good if only he was still with us and he should still be with us if not for the horrible enablers, destroyers and users around him. Liza survived and look at her and her mother's stories.
When you get a chance look up another interview with Tom Jones about Elvis. He tells a funny story about how well he hit you know Elvis. Elvis had a song he wanted Tom Jones to hear. So Tom Jones excused himself to go shower and Elvis sings the song while hes in the shower. It really impressed Tom Jones that Elvis was so comfortable with him. Elvis is outside the bathroom door singing. Lol it’s a cute story.
My aunt is a HUGE Elvis fan. Been to Graceland, everything. She even has a room called the “Elvis room”. So of course, she wanted to see him in concert in Las Vegas. Well, she had fallen off a horse not long before & broke her leg & pelvis, so the concert hurt her, so she left early. As she was walking out, Elvis pointed to her & looked at her, since she stuck out as the only one standing up hobbling on crutches. Was a great moment for her.
Elvis story from one of my older clients “ in Greensboro N.C she was sitting in the third row of the concert he walked off stage shook her hand and said “Thank you for coming” she said OMG I couldn’t believe that he was “Thanking me! “ 😍 Highlight of her life!
I went to Sun Studios with my aunt. The tour guides were very impressed when she told them she was born in the same year as Elvis. I've been all over Europe but I was never in such a sacred place as the room where rock and roll was born!
Elvis has brought more happiness to this world than anyone, I would say, save Jesus Christ. While the stories about him are amazing, let alone his generosity, and given the level of his fame, to remain so humble and loving was quite a gift!!!
Yes, and HE never called himself "The King." He said the only King is Jesus Christ. Loved Elvis...very first movie I ever saw was "Love Me Tender" (along with my teenage sisters). Even at 5 years old, I cried my eyes out when his character dies at the end. 😔🥰
Well... thankfully there were never millions of people killed in the name of Elvis like there have been in the name of Jesus, or Mohammed for that matter....
I have a story! Many years ago, my husband used to work at JC Penny in downtown Greenville,Texas when he was a kid. There was an elderly man that had worked there, selling men’s suits, for decades! This is actually his story…As it goes, Idk what year, Elvis was going down the main drag of Greenville, when he spots a pink and purple plaid suit in the window. They pull over and he sends a guy in and purchased the suit. I assume they were on their way to Dallas. They left the suit for alterations and picked it up on their way back through. Although the old gentleman didn’t get to see Elvis up close, he still had the claim to fame as having sold a suit to the King Of Rock and Roll! Very proud! He told us kids that story many MANY times! LOL! Sweet old guy!
Elvis is the biggest superstar to have walked this earth in newer times, there are so many more stories from celebrities that was lucky to meet him and they all say the same!
@@rickrhoden1 The Beatles are the best selling artists of all time. MJ is the highest selling RIAA artist of all time and broke all of Elvis records. MJ in his bio said he was never inspired by Elvis, he was inspired by the people that Elvis took inspiration/style from…James Brown and Little Richard. MJ is listed in the Guinness world records as the most successful entertainer all of time. Elvis is a pop icon, yes but MJ and the Beatles have eclipsed him. There are younger generations of all races that still listen to MJ and imitate his dances on TikTok, same can’t be said for Elvis. Not everyone listens to Elvis (generally). People of all races listen to MJ. When we are talking global impact, there is no comparison, sorry. MJ was so famous, there are small tribes that know who he is. There are so many great Elvis stories.... my favorite is the donut shop in a bad side of town after dark. Also love the one where he stops a plane as it's taking off, flashes his badge, and takes a guy who stole from him off the plane. Dude was a trip and I will always love everything about him.
@@no1nestandsalone387 Elvis stops to get some donuts and a crowd of large Black dudes gather commenting about his outfit and jewellery. It's a bad part of town so EP is a little wary. Then one of them says something like 'You got some cool jewellery there' and he shows them his hidden gun and says 'Yeah and it's gonna stay mine.' That's EP's version of the story which he told to anyone who would listen apparently, however his GF at the time Joyce Bova tells it slightly differently in that they were not big Black dudes at all they were young kids who came up to chat to him because he did look flashy and out of place in his whole Elvis gear and in that part of town. I'm inclined to believe her version.
I was younger than my sister Debbie and I wasn’t as big an Elvis fan as she was. I remember watching Elvis movies with my older sister - by almost 5 years and our Grandmother. My Grandmother liked Elvis too : ) I never went gaga-ape over Elvis or the Beetles. I liked Ricky Nelson. We grew up watching Ozzie and Harriet. I have never screamed and fainted over any singers or stars/actors. But 2-3 years ago I had a dream that I was sitting outside at a table somewhere with Elvis. I was so relaxed and natural and it seemed like we knew each other - like maybe in heaven - just talking and I remember laying my hand on his arm while talking. A dream you don’t forget. I woke up thinking I was talking with Elvis. We can have dreams that seem real and we don’t forget them. In the dream he was a nice person : ) I was watching a female preacher on RUclips a few years back and she was sharing about a friend of her’s having a vision or dream or maybe in the spirit but she was in heaven and she said she saw two Elvis’s in heaven. She saw Elvis and his twin brother that was born dead. She saw Jesus too and asked about two Elvis’s. Imagine Elvis in heaven with his twin brother. And laughing with Jesus : ) Singing in the angel band : ) We can’t imagine two Elvis’s on earth!!! I like Elvis’s gospel songs. Elvis did like singing gospel songs on earth.

Can you name one other famous person other than Elvis that big time celebrities talk about meeting or interacting with like it’s a huge event for them? This actually struck me too in the late 1990s when the 3 surviving Beatles (McCartney, Starr & Harrison) each went into detail about each interaction they had with Elvis. I mean I was thinking this is the freaking Beatles and they’re going into every detail about every interaction they had with Elvis. Even they were star struck. To each person no matter how famous they are it was a HUGE deal meeting Elvis. I can’t think of any other person that has had that iconic effect on people.
yes, that was the Beatles 1995 Anthology show...George Harrison told how he saw EP in Vegas around 1975....George said "I was allowed to go to his dressing room after his show. It was huge, and a number of celebrities were visiting him. Eventually, I was taken to meet him. He was in his stage costume, with a velvet cape and golden belt buckle, hair piled up in his pompadour. Tall, handsome. He was ELVIS. I felt like some snotty-nosed little kid as i looked up at him and said "Hi Elvis. I don't know if you remember meeting me about 10 years ago? I'm George Harrison?" He as very polite and pleasant to me. But I've never been certain whether he knew who I was. Because I was so nervous that I forget to tell him that i was one of the 4 Beatles who had finally been able to meet our hero back in 1965."

Two true Elvis stories from really good sources. Hughes Market was in Bev Hills. 24/7 market that sold booze but the cut off time for liquor sales is 2AM. About 1:49 PM the Night Manager gets a call from Elvis' people saying they need a big booze delivery for a party that was going strong. The guy I know - the night manager at the time gets on the phone and explains they can't deliver because of legal issues. Elvis gets on the phone and asks very nicely of they can just write the invoice so it shows the sale and delivery was made in a legal time frame. My friend was more than a bit star struck and delivered a big order of liquor wine and beer up the hill to Elvis' place. Risked losing the liquor license. Three days later a couple of Memphis Mafia guys show up and track down my buddy and hand him a rolex watch in a nice box. It was engraved with "Thanks ________ (my pals name) , from Elvis". The second story was about the famous flag football game that took place on weekends at some school in Bel Air. Regular players include Elvis and his posse,Studio Musicians, Actors like Steve McQueen, Kent Mc Cord, The Beatles when they were in town, some of the Beach Boys, and Ricky Nelson and many of the Nelson clan. Not everyone played every down but I guess it was quite the star studded game.
It would have blown Elvis' mind if he had known that the annoying little kid would someday give a legendary performance as himself in 1979's Elvis movie. Russel knocked it out of the park; by far the best Elvis movie to date.

Used to be In the South at any hair salon frequented by old ladies, you would get lots of stories about close encounters with Elvis if you mentioned his name. Even if it was just memories about trying to get tickets to a concert of his. Sad to think all those women who Elvis kissed in concert are dying off. All those memories gone forever.
One of my good friends was kissed by him. She’s obsessed with him, years later. And I’d be lying If I said she’s the easier person to buy for at Xmas time! Lol
From an actress, Celeste Yarnell, and others I spoke to who met him, they all say that pics and the movies don't do his looks justice! I can't even imagine how much better looking he is in person.

Britain deserves a very special thanks for ensuring that Elvis Presley had hits on the British music charts every year of the 1970s (extra thanks for making one of my favourite songs "Way Down" number 1!). He was one of only three musical acts to achieve that feat. The others were Diana Ross and Hot Chocolate.
Erm... you're welcome Sharon, but the pleasure was all ours! Speaking as a 53yr old English Gen X male, only 8yrs 6months old when the King passed, I can assure you, its the duty and privilege of all music lovers my age, to have as many Elvis records in their collection as you can shake a stick at!!! I haven't done too badly, 6 albums on tape, 7 on vinyl and 19 7inch singles, including the posthumous release of Way Down in '77. Peace. 👍

She also told me about how Elvis' father and Colonel Tom Parker were really nasty, rude and dirty people for her small town. She said that the two of them would chew tobacco and spit it in the curbs and on the sidewalk. She said that was about the equivalent of opening their pants and urinating in the street.
She said it was just like in the movie

A lot of her friends would talk to him while he was hanging out waiting.

Tom Jones is the right age to have met and worked with many of the greats across a couple of generations. He has some wonderful stories.
The story about when he was in the shower and Elvis came in is hilarious.
Look how good Tom Jones still looks. Elvis could have looked just as good if only he was still with us and he should still be with us if not for the horrible enablers, destroyers and users around him. Liza survived and look at her and her mother's stories.
Tom and Elvis and everyone used to hang out together.

There are so many great Elvis stories.... my favorite is the donut shop in a bad side of town after dark. Also love the one where he stops a plane as it's taking off, flashes his badge, and takes a guy who stole from him off the plane. Dude was a trip and I will always love everything about him.
I’ve never heard any of those stories. What’s the donut shop one?
The plane one is hilarious. Especially the Miranda rights bit. 😅

What a great story!! It's so sad how his twin didn't make it : (. But to think his family is all together again makes me happy : )

Great live performer Bruce, great live performer, as was, Elvis. Elvis should have gotten out more.
Love that Elvis and Tom jones were good friends ❤❤❤❤
fantastic. Love Bruce Springsteen!!
That was so awesome, and the movie was great;-)
I've just watched Alice Cooper tells this story... It's funny to see Liza's telling her side. Both match - amazing!!
Elvis was the coolest man to ever walk the planet!
Love these stories
Love you Tom❤️ love the way you make me laugh great movies ♥️
These are so cool to hear.
0:59 I LOVE this episode with Tina, Kurt, and Josh! So entertaining ☺️
Kurt Russell looked and acted like Elvis better than anyone else imo.
He was good, but you should really see this new movie with Austin Butler. He's amazing!!
Two words for ya. AUSTIN BUTLER
The Led Zeppelin stories are good. Elvis' crew and LZ were stood in his hotel room all stood talking. Peter Grant Zep's manager being the size he is accidentally sat on Elvis's dad. They all looked at Elvis waiting for his reaction but he found it funny. The big one is when Zep went to see Elvis in concert and Elvis stopped the band playing and said, we gotta get this right guys Led Zeppelin are in the audience. When Zeppelin played the O2 in 2007, Elvis' family came to see them, that is respect. As for Cliff Richard he was asked if he wanted to see Elvis and he replied, I'll wait until he's lost weight and then shortly after Elvis died.
Wait until hes lost weight?!what a bizzare thing to do. Elvis was elvis, regardless of his weight.
Ive noticed this a lot in these celeb stories. They always say "when i met him, he was still elvis. Didnt have that extra weight" ! I just dont understand how that changes anything at all. Just makes these people look extremely shallow .
@@r.22r Yeah, I laughed when Cliff told the story. Typically none rock and roll of him.
@@r.22r because it wasn't about kilos, hé was ill. I wouldn't have wanted to see him in that ill state
@@r.22r I was at an Elvis concert in his overweight stage. He sounded just as great, and the women still swooned!
This was great. I laughed a lot!
elvis would have liked springsteen. it's a shame they didn't meet.
My aunt called him one time before a show as a joke and he took time to talk to her. Also my uncle use to pump gas for him when he was a truck driver.
Omagosh, luv these stories!
Kurt's dad, Bing Russell, was a prolific actor in his own right. Hundreds of tv westerns.
He played Vernon Presley in the "Elvis" TV movie, alongside his son.
I fell in love with Kurt Russell when was a little girl.Follow me boys was the movie.he was 12 .I thought he was so dreamy. First time I had feelings like that.Hes still such a sweet person.
When I was a kid I used to say I'm going to have two sons. The first one I'm going to name after my Father James and the second one I was going to name Russell after Kirk Russell. I don't know why I decided that. But I did grow up and have two sons and the first one was named James but I name the second one after his father.
I had the biggest crush on Kurt as a kid too.
Kurt Russell is one of my favorite actors. He played a wonderful Elvis in 1979. His soon to be wife Season Hubley played Prescilla. She was good also.
Imagine for a second a guy like Bruce Springstein NEVER meeting Elvis.
Seriously Elvis was God level in entertainment.
