@@357twilson lol...are you saying Michael JACKSON was bigger than ELVIS???? You have lots to learn. Elvis is/was the KING of ROCK!!! Even influenced the Stones, Beatles, and Michael Jackson. Michael was talented, but also a pedophile. p.s. Elvis even invented the moon walk dance in the 50's.
So bizarre, and it feels ridiculous, but as a 30 y/o English man having watched a biopic on this man and gone down a rabbit hole of his live performances and interviews, I feel so upset at all he wasn't able to do for himself, and so grateful for what he was able to do for us. Rest in peace King.

elvisgrace77 Yes thank you for your response back in the 70's I was in my 20's and was an Elvis fanatic I drove a black and gold 1955 chevy and all I listened to was Elvis and my future ex got tired of hearing Elvis all the time. As Rudolph Valentino was to people in the 1920's Elvis was to us in our time era.I love Elvis but got tired of all the Elvis want to be's. The only one I thought that even came close to Elvis was Johnny Harra. I was watching him on t.v. and I actually thought it was Elvis until after one of his numbers he said he was not trying to be Elvis but just trying to keep his memory alive
Don Dressel Yes, there will remain an unique artist of part his voice, his charisma and certainly his physical appearance, all unequalled and incomparable for ever... Elvis forever...
Don Dressel so so true, what a man and that fantastic voice as well, he still melts my heart to this day, he is in my heart and soul and that is where he will stay until I leave this earth
Yea the same reporting WOMAN that asks him about "womans liberation" is the same WOMAN that told him to "get up and giggle" in the first half of the interview! Hmmmmmm the irony! This is in 1972 no less when women had absolutely no rights either! Lol Yea the media hasn't always had an agenda!
Avoiding social comments is the smartest thing that a person or entertainer that sells a product “musical recordings” can do. They don’t end up Alienating half their audience with some stupid remark, therefore not slicing their record sales in half. Like a lot of entertainers do today!
"Honey, I just soon to keep personal opinions to myself. I'm just an entertainer, and I'd rather not say." Can every entertainer, athlete, or whatever take a moment of this wisdom by The King? Damn.
tylsimys67 Yeah Colonel Parker was a carnival barking greedy no good degenerate gambler that took 50% of the take! Now if Elvis would of left the Colonel who was also a illegal alien with a fake name and no passport he could of toured Europe and made 100s of millions and who knows maybe even the possibility that Elvis would be alive today!

I had never seen an Elvis interview before, just heard his music. I recently saw a documentary on Netflix about him and became curious about his personality. I never knew how polite and soft spoken he was. He was funny, well-mannered and respectful and knew how to dodge some of those stupid leading questions with grace. Just makes me like him that much more although he must have been a difficult person in his private life. Still the same, for the fans he was an example of respectfulness and dignity.
What makes you think he ‘must’ have been a difficult person in his private life? All the accounts from the people around him after he died say otherwise.
Elvis was very charismatic, good-hearted and the most beautiful man ever. He came to this earth to shine. It's a shame that he couldn't tour around the world, a real crime...😪
Humble here, not humble when ranking out and belittling members of the Memphis Mafia for his own amusement to the point where they cry. Elvis' shit talking and mockery game were on point to where grown men would cry. He wasn't humble when screaming at them either, blaming them for his life problems, for his career taking a downward turn, for letting him do the movies, for making him a sex addict and a junkie who couldn't satisfy his wife who he desperately wanted back when the reality was that he neglected his wife emotionally and physically to have threesomes and all out orgies with strange women. I love Elvis for his complexity. This is all showbiz. At heart a good man, but a spoiled brat some of the time too.
@@petawest6505 The Memphis Mafia were leeches that used Elvis for money. They change up their stories every time I hear from them. Anyone who knew Elvis has said he was was wonderful human being! My grandpa knows a pastor who was a personal friend of Elvis! He said Elvis was very humble, kind to everyone, and the extent of his generosity was incredible. He said that Elvis was the most perfect person he’d ever met in his life! He said that Elvis really was THAT nice. “Elvis Presley was the sweetest, most humble and nicest man you’d want to know.” - Muhammad Ali
Joe and other members of the Memphis Mafia said he always treated everyone the same. The lowest maid or cook to the most famous movie star got the same treatment. Joe said, "because of that, we learned to treat everyone with respect as well."
Sweet, humble and a loving person,.. Elvis Presley from Memphis Tupelo, state of Missisippi in USA. Amerikan Yhdysvaltojen ja Missisippi osavaltion, Tupelon Memphisistä kotoisin oleva,.. tämä ainutlaatuinen ja karismaattinen, kristitty ja Jumalaa kunnioittava mies.
Wow. I don't know what I'm more impressed by: The King of Rock and Roll referring to himself as "just an entertainer", or the fact that he kept his political views to himself.
That's more a case of not wanting to offend anyone imo. No matter what his views were, they would inevitably offend those with the opposite view. I wouldn't care. I would answer it and wouldn't care who it offends. But that's why I'm a nobody and he was Elvis Presley.
He grew up dirt poor in the Depression. He never thought he’d be half as popular or rich as he became. Money was like water to him, and he handed it out like it.
I first came into contact with this phenomenal man around 1957 when I was a teenager living in the UK. He changed, nay ruled my life, and continues to do so. I used to borrow a denim jacket from a boyhood friend and wore blue jeans just to look like him. People today cannot believe the impact that this musical genius had on our generation and continues to have...
He loved his family so much. His parents always lived with him at Graceland, so did his grandma. It's so sweet that he brought his daddy on stage with him at the press conference here. So different from the kids today who can't wait to get away from their parents or buy their parents a house so they don't live with them. His whole family worked for him....his step-brothers and cousins worked for him as bodyguards and assistants. He took care of everyone, he was so generous. He even bought his cook a house and several cars!
I love watching interviews with Elvis you really get to see his humble side ❤ He has the most amazing charisma I think you'll ever see from someone...it's amazing to know he still touches hearts even after over 40 years ❤❤ My fav part 1:20 😊😂 ❤❤
I’ve loved ELVIS since my Mom introduced him to me when I was 7 years old. I saw him in concert when I was 10 and cherish that evening to this day. 42 years later and no matter who comes or goes in the music world ELVIS was by far the KING of them all!!!! I still miss him to this day!!!
Truly a gentleman. " I'm just an entertainer" No comments on politics or social issues. I wish today's entertainers responded the same way. Class at it's best!
Interesting - Dylan in his Autobiography - "Chronicles" - Said that he thought it ABSURD that just because someone could write a popular song or could sing or play a musical instrument - That it would qualify them to give some kind of political opinion.
I adore Elvis!! Too young to know of him and almost missed the Beatles too. Now because of the movie I’m learning all about Elvis and he had it ALL. Stunningly gorgeous - humble, magnificent voice - charming, kind. He is the real deal. Nobody compares to him!
Back then, they didn't have internet and social media to promote him like we have today with some of the singers who have none of any true talents. Today it is all about promotion and being pretentious.
Being a 29 year old male who has grew up listening to watching and reading about this fascinating person I really do think he deserves all if not more credit then he receives. He changed not just the way music was addressed but also broke barriers that made the world a much more social place. Just hard to understand how someone could have the power to change so many life's yet couldn't get a grip on his own life. He will always be 1 of this planets true gems. R.I.P sir
Because it’s hard to please people. People never know when enough is enough from a entertainer, and for him to die on the toilet with 35 pounds worth of shit found in his body during is autopsy, shows that the man did anything to please others, but others really don’t give af about him, and that’s just the truth, they use him for their own good. Listen to the lady “what do you think about women’s liberation” like wtf?! Ask the president that like wtf?! People just want to use him for their benefit. That’s just human nature and human life though. See how many people wanted a piece of him, see how many pills the man was taking just to make it through the day to keep his reputation? He was a people pleaser. And it’s no brainer why he couldn’t save his own life because he really couldn’t trust nobody, he had a reputation that if he was seen in the state that he was in, he would probably be laughed at by others, and his awesome reputation would have been on the line. You know what I mean?
Elvis had an incredibly beautiful voice when he spoke. Same voice when he sang, not like now, with so much technology, their voices change. Elvis was real, very close to his public - the closeness with his fans showed his congeniality. Amazing Elvis.
Hello Mark,First of all thank you for your post. Yes it was the best. Elvis an unique forename known universalement. He knew throughout his life to remain modest and approachable to his fans. @@travesotom6890 just your opinion. Elvis has probably 3 times the amount of records made than Michael. Michael only made 6 adult albums. And truthfully, Michael has sold more records especially when you include the Jackson 5 and worldwide.
Love how he refuses to get caught up in politics, saying he is " just an entertainer". Nor does he criticize entertainers who do express their political opinions. Personally, I prefer not to hear entertainers' political views but I am thankful all of us can express our views.
I especially liked what he said about political and social questions, " I'm just an entertainer", he didn't want to use his fame to promote any political or social agenda. He knew the dangers unlike the entertainers of today. In 1977 I was 8 years old, I cried, that was only for his music, I didn't know him as a person like what I've learned about him over the years, if I had known, it would have hit me even harder. I think that's why deep down inside I wish he really did fake his death, and now show up and sing a song or two. Unfortunately fame and fortune has a price, Long Live the King is right!!!
I love this interview. He's such a kind, warm, human being, that gave so much of himself to entertain the world. It's sad that everything and everyone around him was more about putting him through a dog and pony show, and manipulated his life, especially Parker.

I was born in KY. Raised in Ohio, but all my family was from KY. We visited them down there often. When I talk, I call people Honey and Sweetheart. Some people don't understand it, or think I'm fake or something. My way of talking just flows off my tongue, because I heard it alot growing up. I was brought up to care about others and how I make them feel. Thats why I speak the way I do.
The most famous man that has ever graced this earth and he is so humble. I am binge watching everything Elvis today. I was 6 years old when he died and all I remember is my mom, dad, uncle and aunt all very upset that day! It was if a family member died. Elvis will always be remembered.
Sorry Julie. Have you ever heard of Jesus Christ? I would say he is much more famous than Elvis lol. Michael was bigger than Elvis too.
@@357twilson - of course Jesus was the most famous and I love Michael as well. But to me Elvis was like no other.
Jesus is the true KING, yes, but as far as humans - most famous of all time ? It would be a close race between Michael and Elvis.

I just love listening to him talk. So honest and respectful. So unlike actors and performers today.
Not bizarre at all I did the same thing after watching the movie twice 😊

There will NEVER be anyone like Elvis!
Hi Don, thank you very much for your comment. Yes Elvis was an unique artist. Its voice, its smile and its charisma will stay in our hearts for ever. Good week to you.
elvisgrace77 Yes thank you for your response back in the 70's I was in my 20's and was an Elvis fanatic I drove a black and gold 1955 chevy and all I listened to was Elvis and my future ex got tired of hearing Elvis all the time.
Elvis forever...
yes Don I'm with you on that Elvis was one of a kind.
Don Dressel so so true, what a man and that fantastic voice as well, he still melts my heart to this day, he is in my heart and soul and that is where he will stay until I leave this earth
So many stupid questions he had to answer.. what a beautiful soul he was..
I totally agree
Reporters then and now still ask stupid questions
Exactly, reporters haven't changed much, still asking stupid questions.
I'm just an entertainer, and I'd rather not say."
Can every entertainer, athlete, or whatever take a moment of this wisdom by The King? Damn.

Watch the new movie. It's GREAT!!!!
What makes you think he ‘must’ have been a difficult person in his private life? All the accounts from the people around him after he died say otherwise.
I've seen all of his interviews! I loved that man!

Elvis was one of a kind. They don't make them like the King anymore.
How does someone come off as so humble AND so incredibly cool at the exact same time? Elvis was so, so cool.

He was a good man for sure.

That's more a case of not wanting to offend anyone imo. No matter what his views were, they would inevitably offend those with the opposite view. I wouldn't care. I would answer it and wouldn't care who it offends. But that's why I'm a nobody and he was Elvis Presley.
Elvis seems much nicer than he’s given credit for nowadays. He truly seems larger than life. So much charisma.
He was meek and sweet. Not an act.
He was a southern gentleman.
There will never be another man like him he's the best
He loved his family so much. His parents always lived with him at Graceland, so did his grandma. It's so sweet that he brought his daddy on stage with him at the press conference here. So different from the kids today who can't wait to get away from their parents or buy their parents a house so they don't live with them. His whole family worked for him....his step-brothers and cousins worked for him as bodyguards and assistants. He took care of everyone, he was so generous. He even bought his cook a house and several cars!
His dad’s answer was so cute.
He bought a house for his mom.

You got that right
Being a 29 year old male who has grew up listening to watching and reading about this fascinating person I really do think he deserves all if not more credit then he receives.
He was the most famous person on the planet straight up truth! He started a revolution.
