  • Hey there :), I am so excited to finally upload this video, it took me 2 full days to actually film, edit and narrate this tutorial and I really hope this is helpful/ interesting/ relaxing to anyone out there.
    I know it is a long one so I added my favorite relaxing music in the background: Morning Hope by Dimitri Diomores and Metaverse by EnjoyMusic.
    I try my best to explain my thinking behind what I am doing, pitfalls and mistakes I have learnt from or still do and what I am currently learning - as well as a mention everytime I switch brushes, which brush I use and why.
    I work on Procreate on my Ipad and use 95% original brushes and textures, the other 5% are modified slightly to suit my needs.
    Let me know what you think, and don’t forget to share if you know anyone who would enjoy this! Thank you for your support, have a magical day!! :))
    The reference photo is by Ryan Thompson and I found it on Pinterest!

    You’re a lifesaver.. I watched your video to help with the background of one of my pieces.. maybe I won’t rage quit this time😅 I have always just drawn with pencil, but am determined to learn to paint and add coloring to my artwork.. “trust the process” is the hardest part for me lol.

      Aww I’m so happy that this video tutorial has helped somehow!! I swear I still have to remind myself with every piece that as long as I don’t give up it will have to work out somehow 😅 trusting the process is so easily said but even now I still am really close to quitting pieces I’m on - I have made myself complete every one of those though and they ended up surprising me.. something about leaving the comfort zone gets you to places you didn’t think you could get to I guess :,) I hope you’re doing well and actually enjoying backgrounds/having fun trying things out! ☺️💖

    Nicely done. I have one point though: some of the elements like the stones in rhe foreground don’t connect with the picture. They look like cut out. That is usually the case when the colors don’t blend properly. To avoid that, limit the possible maximum opacity of your brushes to maybe 90 % and paint only with an reduced opacity. You will see the colors will come together much better.

    Such a beautiful (and inspiring) demo. For what it's worth, as someone who puts sparkles and pixie dust round everything possible, I like that you added the extra dark branches, because it shows off the fairy lights even better...but that's just my opinion. It's enchanting either way, and thank you also for the *huge* amount of time and effort it must have taken you to make this video.

    Beautiful piece, both with and without the darker foliage and the lighting. I loved both versions, but felt as though the dark branches and leaves ramped up the drama.
    Great video and so informative. Can’t wait to have a go at some foliage later :)
    Thank you

    Great video. Love it. I am curious which brushes you used. Especially the ones you used for the foliage and rocks. Maybe it is said or visible which one you used. But it goes too fast to wright it down. But maybe you want it wright it down for every one to see, in the comments.

      Thank you so much for your kind words! So when you open the top left tool button next to gallery you can see when you tap canvas a button for reference and when you've enabled that then you can import a photo or file :)) i hope that helps - let me know otherwise i can always include it in the next video or do a seperate video on it 😊💕🙌

    amazing. quick question, the layers for the colors, do they always go over the sketch layer?

    • @philippas_studio
      @philippas_studio  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you! Not necessarily, i am not entirely sure anymore how i did it there but nowadays i put the colour layers beneath the sketch and once i have put down all my colours i then delete or hide the sketch :)) i hope that helps! I will be sure to create better tutorials soon! ☺️

    • @philippas_studio
      @philippas_studio  11 месяцев назад

      I paint on 300DPI 🥰 I think that’s like the lowest high quality that is necessary for high quality prints! But if I try 600dpi then I can’t use more than 4 layers 😅🤣
