Ugh! I hate to break this to you (are you sitting down?). Bob Ross, among serious painters, is the butt of nearly every joke. It’s like saying Ross is GOURMET FOOD when he is really a McDonalds Big Mac. You think he’s Shakespearian when he’s really just Keanu Reeves.
@@christopherp.hitchens3902 my goodness why the negativity? I was very specifically thinking about how James is very calming and informative as he paints. I think his artwork is absolutely fabulous.
@@barbdagostino6816 - I was trying to spare you the embarrassment of comparing a REAL artist to the McArtist of television, Bob Ross. Thanks so much I am a 72 years old lady, new in this type of toys . So I am so fascinated with your tutorial. Is my first time . I don’t even know I can do things like this beautiful painting
I've been watching your videos off and on since 2019. You are AMAZING! The best way to learn Procreate, I've found, is to follow along with your easy paintings, and by the end of the video, my skills are greatly improved. Thank you.
What I love about your tutorials is that you make it all seem so effortless, so even beginners like me feel confident in trying out. I have learned so so much since I started following your tutorials. Thanks a ton!
I love how people say dont use gausian blurr. It can make art so much better. Blurring it and having soft edges gives you much more control as you go on. Also, going from soft edges to sharper is always better. Especially in such images of elements. I love doing fire this way. I've been doing it for some time now, and now i see you doing exactly that. Gives me reassurance that what i have been doing is right.
Amazing every time! Despite having watched James Julier's tutorials for years, I always learn something special and new to me. It's such a treat to have access to an outstanding artist who is also a first rate teacher. Thank you.
I could not get the water to look right so after the fourth try I ended up using just the leatherwood brush with different colours, creating waves and using the lightest colour for highlights. You have no idea how thrilled I am to be able to do this. Thanks a million.
I really appreciate your talent and your willingness to share it with us. Never would I have imagined that this beautiful art is possible using only standard Procreate brushes, and you are teaching techniques that can be used on many other projects. I love your landscapes (especially the ocean scenes!) Thank you so much for creating these tutorials for us.
I started using Procreate to draw some illustrations of greyhounds and watched your Procreate tutorial, which was hugely helpful. I had no intention of painting in this way. But now I've been watching some of your painting tutorials I'm hooked. You make it look so easy but I'm not expecting to be able to do anything as beautiful as you've created. That won't stop me from trying. Looking forward to watching and learning more. Thank you!
Brilliant, as usual! I am so serious when I say I am running out of superlatives that convey my excitement for these tutorials. Thank you for all the work you put in for us. 💜
James tutorials are very clear, he teaches with precise technics. His clear and doesn’t confuse which I love the most thank you for another amazing artwork.
I’ve been using Procreate for several years, but I’m always learning new techniques. This is amazingly beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. 😊
I followed your video and did this art piece first time! Did not see it before hand. And. Just say this was by far the best tutorial! I didn’t need to buy new brushes like others promote. I am so proud that i could make something like this. All thanks to your video! Thank you!
Thank you and greetings from Germany. Im an absolute Beginner I have the iPad 2 Weeks ago for Videocutting but now im in Love in Painting. Good that some Arts from you make it easy for Beginners
Great information. Learned new techniques. Even though you did speak slowly, I had a difficult time painting and keeping up with your instructions in terms of brush sizes, opacity, color selection, layer creation, etc. I finally stopped trying to paint and instead just watched your video while writing down all of the instructions, which I will refer to when I attempt the painting.
Thankyou for the help with all your videos , I can see the progress I’ve been making already just by following a few of your videos ! You go the extra mile by letting us know the codes you use and the techniques ! Thankyou
I just followed this tutorial and I learned so much, after following this, i did one of my own, and it turned out to be amazing, thanks for this amazing video!!
I have learned a lot from your tutorials, thanks for them! I have a suggestion and request: When you are showing the palette at the beginning of a tut, if you sampled an actual photo to make, telling us how you decide which colors to select would be helpful. And I would like to see you do a rugged mountain scene with a volcano in the foreground like they have in Iceland.
Glad you like them! However if I show the colour selection process at the start of each tutorial it would add a lot of extra time that I think would get in the way of the main lesson 😊
OMG! I just now watched your video, and it was my first time watching the Apple pen being used as a paint brush! I loved it. I loved it. I loved it!!! & you did a beautiful painting & liked the way you explained & demonstrated. I just got my new pen & about to attempt this for the first time! I am disabled, and this is an absolutely amazing way for me to be able to paint again! Something I haven’t been able to do for so long! I already know I’m going to love this!😃🤗🥰🤪😌🙏🏼thankful!
I found you yesterday and did the wave crashing in the sand art. Looked amazing, my results! I then was proposed this one and i think i can do it and this re-energized me in drawing Thx a million
Echo all the comments - just lovely. Really enjoyed following along, as ever. My only self interested request, is for you to do one or two in more of a watercolour style, rather than your usual. It's just that it's your teaching style that is also so great to listen and follow along with - and would love to learn from you with watercolour style too, if at all possible some time! Either way, keep up the good work. No surprise you've so many subscribers, likes and views.

hello! thank you so much for your tutorials! got my ipad for the last Christmas and can’t paint on it as it looked so boring with all those shapes and dragging the colour into it.. and all those additional brushes.. now I definitely will try something like that ❤
Wish I could give more than one thumbs up! Really beautiful. Can’t wait to try it. Actually just spent a few days at the beach. Your painting is spot on. 👍👍👍👍👍
Brilliant 🙏 Thank you for another beautiful landscape tutorial. You really do make complex images and something I could only ever of dreamed of creating easy to do, I should say easy to follow and loads to learn. I’m definitely finding them easier to do after only 4 tutorials, I go back to some of your earlier ones and your tutorials have improved massively. Thanx again !!!

Im not having a go to those that use this for digital works. but i just love the idea using as a tool. How it would be easier for colours, ideas for a traditional painting.
