I hate when you watch a review on gear and all they want to do is show how fast their fingers can move. I’m a rhythm player and enjoy videos like this. Great review.
I enjoyed the demo. I certainly love the girth and sustain of the pedal but I have had similar in that like this one it is little too buzzy. Yes I know a real JCM 800 amp is buzzy too. I find for me I am better with a Plexi set near clean and use a good medium gain MIAB. When I need more I stack another pedal. For the over the top sound the 2716 has, a backed off octave Fuzz works good because it's buzz is in the low mids . On the lower gain settings it is very tempting. It is a very good deal at $150.00 USD :-) Thanx again for a great demo.
Thanks for vid. I had never even heard of this company and now I’ve got a new pedal to look forward to. Also man, please tell me a little about the way bitchin’ Les Paul that you played at the beginning of the demo. Is it from a specific line of guitars that Gibson put out? What would I type into Google that might take me to this guitar? I’ve got to know man. HOOK A BRUTHA UP MAN!!!!!!
thanks William! the LP in question is a Les Paul Platinum Series. It was a limited run Guitar Center Anniversary exclusive. They made 3 colors: Black, Red and Blue. I'm always looking out for more either on eBay or Reverb but people ask WAY too much for a Les Paul Studio.
I think a lot of that low end is coming from the amp. I just got my 2716 and it’s an awesome pedal. I have it going in to the front of an Evh iconic head with a Mesa OS 4x12 and I have the bass maxed out on the pedal and it still lacks some bottom end. I’m having to buy an equalizer to give it more bottom. Over all, I still the pedal.
Well I do not have a Riot to compare it to…I did have one and I would say that the Riot is more of a modded British thing. The 2716 is all rectifier. Both high gain, very different flavors and both very good
@@SeanPierceJohnson very helpful! I like my Riot, and it's better than anything else for me, until now. Because I just ordered the 2716 and can't wait to hear it through my stereo super crush 4x12s! Will help my live rig sound closer to my recordings Thanks!
How do you think this compares to a revv g3 or a Friedman be-od? I'm going to be playing some Gojira like sounds and need high gain as my amp isn't very crunchy. What'd you recommend?
well the 2716 is certainly in the conversation with both the G3 and BE-OD in my book. it just comes down to the flavor. the 2716 is more of a modern Rectifier sound, the BE a hot-rodded british deal and the G3 is a modern, focused high gain sound. i'm not familiar with Gojira's music. i've heard of them but can't say which would suit best.
Great video! Your videos have a great full sound. Were the bridge pickups in those guitars hot or lower gain vintage style? Have you tried the Westminster Osteen Distortion? If so can you say what the difference is between the 2716 and Osteen? I had been looking for a metal pedal and was going to buy the Osteen which Cody says can do anything. I know you said there is nothing vintage about this pedal, but with lowering treble, etc. can it get more traditional full darker metal sounds anyway like on the Barren Cross “Rock For The King” album? BTW, one of the comments below on this review has a porn link. ruclips.net/video/RCQmsOgJM4s/видео.html
Sounds rad! I had a blast with mine, it’s crazy how huge it sounds too! Demo dropped shameless plug lol! Great work man! 🤘
How does it sound through clean amps? How would it compare to a revv g3 or a Friedman be-od?
That was great tone!

Thanks! I tend to let the gear tell me what it wants to play…if that makes sense. And if this is supposed to be a Rectifier-in-a-box, YOU RIFF!
Thank you for the excellent review!
i'm glad you enjoyed it! please consider signing up for my email list: www.seanpiercejohnson.com/email-list
Very nice man 🤘🤘🤘🤘. Subscribed
Thats right, play that guitar like you own it! Very cool pedal, sounds awesome!

Really? Wow. I set all my EQ point around 12 o’clock for pedal demos and it was only a 2x12 cab.
Can someone compare this to the suhr mini riot?

Also wondering if it needs the TS/OD boost going into it thing to push it and tighten it up

@@SeanPierceJohnson which one would you say is the tightest? Gojira uses EVH 5150 Stealth amps, but I don't like the 5150 pedal cause it's too fizzy
