    Hey Bud great vid. Good details and clear.
    Just a small correction the 750 sho batt. Are rated in MAH and the xtar is in MWH so to get MAH (Wh)*1000/(V) =(mAh). 1.2*1000/1.5= 800mha

    Good day to you sir! Do you actually still using the 1.5v lithium battery? Is the Xtar 1200mwh lithium batta good enough for rwd mr03/04? Thank you for sharing!

    Nice. Thanks for sharing. I've tried other li-on batteries but since most don't allow them in races I stopped buying them. but they are pretty good batteries to run your mini Z.

    These Li-Ion batteries appear to be a FAIL for my MRO3 Mini-Z (PNR 33T brushed motor). Fully charged XTAR 1200mWh batteries do not have enough output to initially start the car. I have to nudge the car to get it going, and its output is anemic once it is running. Perhaps I got a bad set? Or XTAR is not putting these batteries at proper storage voltage? Also they do have protection circuitry built inside which may be throttling output levels compared to NiMH batteries? Any ideas on my problem/observation is appreciated!

      I’ve got a new set AAA arrived with a new charger . Let me see . I’ve only used in evo , will try with regular mr03 but I don’t have pnr motor . I’ll see how it goes .

    I think its important to state that most if not all big races, or sanctioned races, use NiMh only as a power source for AAA cells. Li-Ion is not permitted.
    Good video though, very thorough.

      @@GarageMiniRCUK The point you brought up about battery weight, and the balance of the car is very important. Weighing the cells, and knowing the mass, and how it effects the balance of the car cannot be mentioned enough. MA-010/020 you need to balance with the cells because they only go on one side... which is why when I was racing MA-010 regularly, I only used one brand/capacity of cell and balanced the chassis with weights so that it was equal.

    • @GarageMiniRCUK
      @GarageMiniRCUK  2 года назад +1

      Agreed. It's the heaviest part of the car. I'm still learning have a lot of respect for the awd ma020 /ma010 chassis.

      @@GarageMiniRCUK I have 4x MA-010 which have had extensive use over the yerars, and one MA-030 Evo which I havent used yet. I was looking into the cost of converting an MA-010 to MA-020 front end, but the costs didnt make sense for just the VCS upper arm difference...

    • @GarageMiniRCUK
      @GarageMiniRCUK  2 года назад

      I did the atomic ma010 conversion to front double shocks that was not too expensive

    Do those Xtar 1.5v work in a mini-z MR03 (non evo)?
    I ask because i already tried two 3.7v li-ion + two dummies, but it can’t handle that much power and the steering is flipping.

    • @GarageMiniRCUK
      @GarageMiniRCUK  Год назад +1

      Yea those are too powerful 3.7volts for Rwd . The xtar are 1.5v and fine in mr03

    • @jedemmers
      @jedemmers Год назад

      After 3 week i got my order. I tested them yesterday on the track in my MR03.
      Just like you said: They keep the charge great and have that constant punch power the ‘Orion 750 sho’ has.
      Unline in your video, they look the same but the 1,5v i got were slightly larger in length. Thus it’s harder to get them in and out of the car.
      They did last longer than the Orions and did charge up faster. But i wasnt’t able to beat my lap record with them.
      Next couple of weeks i give em more testing.

    • @GarageMiniRCUK

      @@GarageMiniRCUK I think the extra power melted my MR03 engine. It’s still running. But black stuff came out of the top after an hour using these Xtar. I bought an 5600k evo and looks to not melt. But main issue is the batteries are too large. And the wrapping is nothing near the quality of the orions. Thus the battery outer cover is coming off. I got a refund from Xtar. The charger is fine tho, keeping that.

    • @GarageMiniRCUK
      @GarageMiniRCUK  Год назад

  • @TheRolands81
    @TheRolands81 2 года назад

    Eneloop are the best. So many are using them in Mini Z. Orion are overpriced crap. And no wonder those Soshine last you only 20min as they are only 350mah. Half the capacity of normal AAA.

    • @GarageMiniRCUK
      @GarageMiniRCUK  2 года назад +1

      The soshine are 7.4 volts. Will destroy all the others over about 20 mins then dead (plus weigh 20grams) . The xtar aren't as powerful but destroy all other ni-mh. I won't be using NI mh again unless it's restricted by race rules.

      @@GarageMiniRCUK 😂🥰🐶 I like u drift cars, does the ma 030 rwd cars work good for drifting? I have a ma 020, it my only car, I want a red car to try lower speed drifting also tho, I think I probably get a drz but I don’t know, I really like mini z, but mini z is expensive too, and I don’t want to get one and it not work like I hope it will, I know the drz is good for rwd drifting 🤔🐶

      Mr03 Rwd can't drift
      Ma030 awd evo can drift
      Drz is old now. Better Rwd drift cars now like gld, xrx dpa sport,drift art, dwx3
      but need a lot of set up.

      @@GarageMiniRCUK the drift arts I know I’ve heard of, why can’t the rwd 03 drift, are they not able to get solid axels on the rear or something like that? I seen the awd ones for drifting and could tell urs in this video is awd coz how it drifts. I like like it? But my next one I def want to be rwd so maybe has to get one of the ones I mention, when I have some money saved for it I’ll look into exactly which one I get I guess 🥰🐶
