    Pn firm front tires
    Pn super soft rears
    PN #6 carbon t-plate
    Kyosho Oil Shock rear
    PN +2 steering link
    PN 1 degree aluminum front knuckles
    PN lcg v5 motor mount
    Kingpin flip mod
    PN 70 turn w/ 9 tooth pinion
    Best lap time with tires only was 9.76. Now with upgrades my best is 8.4. last 3 weeks I've TQ'd my my class. The car is alot faster than out of the box with minimal parts. Honestly none of the aluminum parts are necessary but more of a bling factor. Only the motor mount i really noticed a difference in handling. Maybe you could get some video of it in action some time

    Nice. I'm looking to build a track about 7m x 4m. What is the difference in handling between mm and rm models. Is there any reason to go for one over the other? Also what were the tyre part numbers for those?

    • @byebyeracing4277
      @byebyeracing4277  3 года назад +3

      Hey Darren. That will be a nice sized track. The handling difference in a nutshell is the RM has the motor rear mounted and understeer is more apparent around corners on throttle. The MM has the motor mid mounted which gives you more steering but makes the chassis dart a bit more. Most racers prefer the MM for racing because of the sharper steering and longer wheel base which adds more stability overall.

I'm trying to figure out which one would be best as far as just messing around with. I won't be racing to feel like I said to my knowledge no track within driving distance. Also wanted to know as either one rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive better for growth meaning which one has the most hop-ups and won't be out of date as far as new models in the near future. Did you do anything to the differential? Since they are not locked differential my car slips every way around because one tire has more power. I’m also just using it on my kitchen floor and maybe too dusty for the tires? Compared to your tracks grip . Specifically in left turns. But all in all how was your experience with the differential?

    • @byebyeracing4277
      @byebyeracing4277  2 года назад

      The diff in this video was dry. Adding a heavy grease will lock it up somewhat but that may not be the solution.
      At this scale the power easily overcomes grip on slick surfaces. you could run a ball differential and adjust it so that it slips slightly. However, even with the stickiest tires you're not going to achieve the grip levels you would where both surfaces are rubber.

      AWD has it's place. A lot of people use it for drifting.
      The AWD has a weak plastic differential and should be upgraded to a ball diff that can slip a little. The dog bones are also weak. The chassis plastic is weak. There is a lot of power loss from the drivetrain so you need a hotter motor to keep up with the 2wd. The AAA batteries are stacked on onside and it doesn't have the low CG that the 2wd does.
      The AWD does have great grip on the RCP track and can put down some decent laptimes.

      Outside use. Use caution though as there is only a few mm clearance.

I have a home made smooth cement rc track in my backyard and use it for drifting it's in no way like a in door polished floor but the cement is smooth with no sort of texture but it has its weather beat now, but basically would I be able to drive a rwd with very grippy tires on it without spinning out so much or should I try awd with grippy tires ?

    • @byebyeracing4277
      @byebyeracing4277  3 года назад

      Hey Branden, given your conditions the AWD will bring the most drivability.
      RWD will work but you will need to try different tires for your surface. On concrete sometimes a harder tire will have more consistency than a really soft tire because a harder tire will not pick up dirt and dust and much as a softer tire.
      You will want to compensate for power oversteer...so you will need need to test different tires front and rear to find the balance. Good luck!

    For 40 bucks it's worth buying five or six of these maybe 10 and have your own mini z track in your shop or man cave and that way you and your friends can all erase them not have to worry about a $200 mini z getting tore up

      @@kyleschraw7600 It's two Wide-L kits with the Wide Inside turn kit. The track rails and tiles are foam.
