I’ve been running reduced power shocks on my trunklid for a while up to this point. But, my hatch delamination repair job seems to be holding rock solid. So, I decided to switch back to normal power shocks and reconnect the wiring for the trunk lighting and give the trunklid latches a good greasing and adjusting. Satisfaction at the push of a button.
@@papasmurf986 I had a small delam area over the passenger side hinge. Previous owner let the driver side shock die and the lopsided weight was pulling the glue apart. I bought some heavy duty clear glue that bonds glass and injected it in there and sat a tire on the glass til it was dry.
@@tims_4x4_garage for sure man I will do that for sure! Getting the timing belt changed at Porsche perimeter bc it’s been sitting for a few years and don’t want to risk anything. She is absolutely mint though!
@@poonman420 that’s awesome man I’m happy for you. Hard to find mint ones. The previous owner told me he just did it but after looking over some of the work he did to the car, I decided to just dive right in and do it myself. I’ll be doing a retension on it here in a few more miles.

What form of repair did you do? Every story of resealing the hatch I have come across does not have a good ending.

@@tims_4x4_garage that’s definitely the simplest delam fix I’ve heard of!
@@jeffstorey9147 holding so far 🤞🏼
@@tims_4x4_garage nice! Any idea what glue it was? The closest thing I could find is gray.
Mine's struts don't work but the car was also under $1k
We’ll have to meet up! I’m in hall county! Just bought a ‘88 944!
Heck yea man. We’re neighbors. I’ve learned a lot about these feel free to reach out.

@@poonman420 can I ask how much Porsche dealer quoted you for that job?
Where is the button to make it do this? I can’t find it
On my ‘87 it’s a button next to the hood pop pull thing
@@tims_4x4_garage I have an 83 must be manual from the key only
@@nickkrontz8373 dang maybe so. I haven’t been in an earlier one.
@@tims_4x4_garage there such good cars
@@nickkrontz8373 agree. They were well built and it shows. I daily drive mine (unless the weather is awful) nearly 200,000 miles on it.
