This channel is an absolute treasure trove of useful information. I wanted to let you know how appreciative I am of all the work you put into this content. Thank you sir !
Yes sir your correct because I checked the firmware level of my old QX7 with the new QX7S and they are obviously different so I'll have to rely on the telemetry page for rssi data. Thank you Painless!
Wow. I bought this radio 2 years ago, but never knew how to do this. Now that my Long Range quad has GPS, i wanted to get coordinates printed out on my screen. This made it super easy to figure out how to do that. Thanks!
Great video. Just one question, how do you decide when it's low? My RxBt shows me 3.1V, but my LiPo checker shows me 3.58V in each cell. It's a 2C 7.4V 1300Mah battery. Whats going wrong here? Is RxBt the value of 1 cell? Could someone help me out? I just want to let it to play an alarm at 3.4V/cell or 6.8V total.
Lee. When I discover a new sensor via my Qx7, one of the sensors is A2. Is that my primary battery level? If so, the telemetry is showing 11.9-12.0. If I check the battery with a battery checker it's showing fully charged at 12.5. There's a bit of a discrepancy there. Just curious if I'm understanding this correctly. Thanks!
It depends on what you are using on where you need to look. A2 was the pack voltage on D series recievers. X series only had A1 (Rx voltage). If you are seeing A2 using X series them I'd guess you're using telemetry from a flight controller and I'd check the setup for voltage measurement that end. Best of luck
I sometimes get telemetry lost randomly and in a second its back. Cant figure out why have just updated all rx tx firmware and still a bit sketchy. Wondered if you had any weird things like this also what range are you getting with this set up (approx):-)
Hey Painless I bought a used Taranis QX7S and when I press bind on any model I do not get the ask for channels 1-9 and 9-16 telemetry. I use this to see the receiver graph on the model as to how strong the telemetry is or if I am bound?
Your video solved some of my problems. Because I am an electric powered flyer, I want to monitor the flight battery and not just the speed control or ESC output voltage. I am also using the frsky X8R reciever. Is this possible and how do I hook up this receiver? Thankyou for reading this
Just what I was looking for and explained very clearly as always. Can you tell me how do I now get an audible warning of low values while flying. Many Thanks.
See the video on telemetry in the later part of the Taranis series. You need to discover the sensors and then setup a logical switch to come on once the voltage drops below a certain level. Once you've got that then you can make that logical switch play a soundfile.. Best of luck!
sir, I want to ask. beside the battery indicator on the monitor screen there is a signal bar indicator for telemetry. and the signal bar is only 1 bar and it can't be full and there is always a warning voice from the system. how to disable the signal bar? Thanks for your help.
I'm not sure what you're referring to, a picrurmture would be helpful. Any time. There is a warning it usually pays to fix the problem not disable the alert. Why is the bar never getting high enough?
When I click, Discover new sensors nothing shows up even when I have the RSSI channel 12 mapped to my taranis, I move my remote and the % changes. I have an FrSky XM+ with a taranis qx7. I also noticed that in the telemetry window inside the Taranis for Source : Default and I cant change the value. Thanks for your videos !
Hey there Painless! Thank you so much for this tutorial I've done everything you told in here, but my RxBt is always frozen at 4.8. Either with a fresh battery or a used one. Can't seem to solve this. Could it be a bad Rx?
Thank you so much. That helps out a ton. My only problem problem is I was thinking I could do rssi for the xm+ since it has a port but I think it's only for maybe osd rssi reading?
hey my qx7 is being stupid it won't let me select a switch it has worked fine before now but when I go to inputs and try to put a switch to a chanel I flick the switch nothing and doesn't show them in the list
I very much Enjoy your videos I have now built 4 multi-rotors and each one I go back to your series :-), perhaps I missed it but I am using cube with RFD900 telemetry / mission planner and a Taranis on all my copters.. the rc radios are d4r2 on the first 2, X8R, and RX8R .. could you point me to a video that would pass telemetry (battery, flight modes and height) to the Taranis? I know there are scrips with additional hardware for the x8r rx8r but was hoping an easy way to simply pass the telemetry to the Taranis - Thanks!
Hi! Could you please tell if you have to do something special to make Taranis (i own X7) show "Type" on Telemetry page? I do not have one. Also tried to discover sensor - no luck. I own the KingKong ET115 drone.
Hay Painless360, great video. I tryed to get RSSI and receiver voltage from my L9R receiver, but when I go to discover new sensors, it doesn't find them. Whay is that? L9R has RSSI.
Do you have a video on how to set up RSSI or RQLI on a Taranis Q X7, and a 4-in-1 module from a Turnigy TGY-IA6B receiver (AFHDS 2A)? I'm using OpenTX 2.2. Module firmware is version 1.2.1.18, or newer. Thank you.

Painless360 no my motors are going in the right direction I checked them. Yesterday I deconstructed the quad and put it all back together. I put props on it today to see if it was just showing the issue just in the GUI like you said but it's not. Again after giving the quad a little throttle the quad shoot up and started to yaw at the same time. Please help me out.
5 years later and we are still watching these...thank you, much appreciated.
