Thanks for this video. Great that you can replace the AAs with the lipo. I didn't know you could use the balancing cable conn for powering to the pc board. I thought the power would come through the banana plug end. I am still learning.!
Thanks a million for a very cool review Pete . Now I am a little more knowledgeable about how these better TX's work , I only have toy grade TX's at the mo , nothing to fly yet though still need to purchase some new motors . Bad timing too I've had to replace my car so that means even more months of being flat broke lol. Awesome video buddy : Big thumbs pointing skyward :)
I'd say, I love my qx7 and the way it fits in my hand. The empty spot on the shoulder where it has just one switch instead of two like the x9d, makes a perfect spot to rest my left index finger which is a thumbing hand and for my middle finger on the right which is my pinching hand. For me, it is super important where I place the fingers that I don't use because they dictate the counter balance of the fingers that I use on the sticks and I fly better with the qx7 than the x9d for that reason alone.
The two quadcopters come with a d8 frsky receiver on the qx 95 and the qx 90, the receiver is built in to the ail board :) It should work with all of the frsky receivers.
Nice detailed review. I'm thinking about getting a better TX so I can get some BNF quads and maybe use it for some of the birds that I already have. With this in mind I have a question for you. How does the Taranis QX-7 compare to a Devo 10 in your opinion? At this point I'm leaning towards the Devo 10 with the 4 in 1 module and the Deviation firmware update. I'm getting quite a collection of toy and hobby grade quads all with their own TXs and would like to consolidate. What are your thoughts on how to go about this? The Taranis QX-7 with add in modules or the Devo 10 with deviation? Thanks for any info and please keep those videos coming.
Michael McCauley I am not at all familiar with the devo 10 tx for I do not have one to compare... I am not sure if it is able to communicate with the frsky receivers and some quads do come in frsky receiver only.... Having said that, some quads only come in dsm2... I can tell you that I have used the orange rx external module for the taranis and it does work fine and there is also the 4 in 1 module available for the taranis as well to bind to other protocols. As I understand, any time an external module is used, there may be some lag. It is a choice I had to make as well when opting for the x9d plus and I am happy with the decision :)
i plan on getting this plus the irangex 4 in 1 multi module. I want mode 2 with left stick throttle n yaw... n right stick pitch n roll. in the settings of opentxcompanion what order do I choose A E T R?
I LIKE YOUR REVIEW VERY MUCH♡ thanks♡♡ and I want to know that it is possible to use dsmx/dsm2 for spektrum receiver. if possible, how we connect the module?
A very useful and incisive set up review. Thank you.
Thanks for posting this!!! I love my qx7!!! Still learning and enjoy it a lot!!
👍😀👍
I use it every day and it is my favorite transmitter :)

Thanks for watching :)
Very helpful, much appreciated!
My scroll button is very solid ... I think his is loose , perhaps the mounting is not secure ?
the inside of the scroll wheel is attached to the board and there are no mounting involved. the apparatus is just loose on my unit and is subpar.

So, one year has gone by now (almost) if you are asked which you prefer QX7 or X9D, what would you say?

What receiver are you using with this radio ? I have this radio on order, should have it soon. Thanks for the review.

It does look like a grate radio 👍. I think I'm still going to get a Devo 10 and 4 in 1 module..when I have some spare cash lol. Dod.
