I Highly recommend 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi not a lot of people have reacted to this movie but it’s an apolitical movie about the brave American men who fought during that attack.
Harvey Dent's character is underrated. before his fall i love the poetic symmetry between Dent and batman. Batman believes in Harvey more than he believes in himself, and Harvey believes in the batman more than himself. They both fully believe that the other is what is truly necessary for Gotham's survival
@@user-qd9er2dh7n Not really tbh. Again, the movie questions what people would do in times of crisis. Your argument is the Joker's argument: that they'd act unethically, while Batman argues that they can do good. In the end, both are right, yet Joker feels like the true victor.
@@errwhattheflip still feels unrealistic tho. He said most people will do that, and thats true. There always will be exceptions but in this scenario probably will be 0,001%. But at the end its a movi so I suposse its ok.

The scene where Rachel first meets Joker is the first time the actress playing her and the actor playing Alfred saw Heath Ledger in the Joker makeup. That's why their reactions are so genuine.

Loved both of your reactions. Every time I hear the lines "But he didn't do anything wrong." "He is the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now." breaks my heart every time. A hero choosing to be labeled the villain.
Bruce Wayne's Lambo in this movie is a model called "Murcielago" which the Spanish word for "bat". Even his civilian car was a Batmobile. So much for being subtle.
One touch that I love about this movie is that in the opening bank heist, Joker is shown admiring the sawn off shotgun as he gets onto the bus. He is then using that same shotgun when he appears at the fundraiser. He wasn't kidding about being cheap.
Joker having the hostages look like the bad guys and the bad guys looking like the hostages is genius and terrifying. Imagine being in a situation like that
Fun fact, the Joker scene where he is videotaping himself with the fake batman was all improvised by Heath. Chris Nolan gave him the camera and free reign to whatever he wanted. Apparently, he even scared the hell out of fake batman while shooting the scene.
Also the interrogation scene with Batman and Joker Ledger wanted Bale to actually hit him to make it more real. During the jail scene when Gordon gets promoted Ledger improvised the Joker clapping and Nolan liked it so much he kept it in. Another thing when the Joker has Dent holding a gun to his head the Joker has his thumb between the hammer and the body so the hammer wouldn’t make contact if Dent did pull the trigger. Also when the hospital explodes and there is a little lull between explosions due to a timing error Ledger improvised hitting the remote like the remote malfunctioned. Ledger and Nolan were truly a great team.
@@johnny9000 That's not a little thing. Heath so embodied the role That I feel this movie should be used as a master class in method acting. Also the scene with Joker and Rachel in the apartment with the knife was improvised, the actress who played Rachel didn't realize they were rolling yet and her fighting against Heath was real.
@@bidwell13 The hospital scene improvization thing is a myth. In reality, the pause was planned by Nolan as a means to do the scene practically and keep Ledger safe. Nolan confirmed this to be the case in the special feature Gotham Uncovered: Creation of a Scene that was part of The Dark Knight's home release. Here's what he said: "[Special effects supervisor Chris Corbould] was able to come up with a scenario in which Heath could actually be walking out of the building because what Chris worked out is if we put in a little beat where the first set of explosions stops as if something's gone wrong, and the Joker just takes a second to look around surprised like the audience is surprised, then the major demolition comes in and he jumps straight into the school bus. In that way he was able to come up with a practical scenario in which we could actually take a principal actor, walk him out of a building that's about to be destroyed, and literally drop the building to the ground." Although the idea that Ledger managed to save a broken scene does make for a great story or piece of trivia about The Dark Knight, it is definitively not true. Not only was the scene executed exactly as Nolan and his team wanted, but it also came after extensive practice. A sequence of this size and precision could not be done well or safely without rehearsals. This way, everyone on the set was on the same page.
I don't think any scene put the fear of god into an audience more than the moment the Joker screams "LOOK AT ME!" In the video recording. You could hear a pin drop in the cinema, what a special performance Heath gave.

This movie is an absolute masterpiece in my eyes and I swear so many lines are so quotable. The actors line deliveries are so good and is the sole reason I know this movie like the back of my hand. Obviously Heath Ledger played his role as The Joker masterfully but Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart, and Gary Oldman really shine in this film too!!
Heath Ledger really put his heart and soul into this role. He put himself in isolation in order to experience a taste of madness. A lot of his lines in this movie are actually ad libbed. They did have a professional clown makeup artist there, but Ledger applied the makeup himself because he didn't want it to look professional; but rather that the makeup had been smeared on by a madman. In the interrogation scene, those are real punches and glass getting smashed. Ledger wanted to really embody the Joker, and laughing in Batman's face with every punch is something he felt the Joker would do. A lot of the cast and crew were actually disturbed when first seeing him, and even a few felt traumatized during scenes when he'd tell a story about how he got his scars.

In the comic, if Joker gonna choose a past, he prefer multiple choice all at once. That's why this Joker tells different stories to others in this film. No one knows the Joker background in the comic, is what makes it scarier in this movie. Love your reaction!
I saw a video on a theory if his origins and SUPPOSEDLY the joker is some type of ex special ops. Some people think the guy who was going to give away Batman’s identity, Coleman Reese, was supposed to come back for the end of the trilogy as a stand in for the Riddler because I’m pretty sure it’s actually Lucius Fox that calls him “Mister Reese” like “Mysteries” and it works because Riddler’s real name is Edward Nygma, or E. Nygma like “Enigma” which was a code machine used in WW2. It would’ve been cool but I’m pretty happy that it ended up being Bane though-not to mention Paul Dano kills it as Riddler in the Matt Reeves Batman movie
Lol nah he was never in talk to be in the third. The original drafts of the third film had a joker trial pre Heath’s death. Mister Reese is just a nod to the riddler just like officer Blake is a nod Robin in the third film.
22:32 This bit from the media leads me back to a line from Green Goblin in Spider-Man "The one thing they love more than a hero is to see a hero fail, fall, die trying. In spite of everything you've done for them, eventually, they will hate you."
I wish I could experience this movie for the first time again.... It really is a masterpiece and I don't think any other "Superhero" movie has ever quite surpassed it.
I have watched "Dark Knight" for the first time this year this summer.I am not a fan of superhero movies(And never was),but this film is truly amazing.Heat Ledger is a brilliant actor.
Fun fact, that dinner party scene was the first time the actor playing alfred saw ledger in the full joker getup and character. He was so unnerved he forgot his line and nolan just left the take in. Goat performance

Very good reaction you two have great chemistry and Vince you had my cracking up when you were laughing at the joker😂 keep doing your thing you two!!
37:52 - this is an underrated moment too because we automatically think - "mindless criminals with no heart or morals..." and they showed more humanity than the Joker ever thought possible - they were willing to sacrifice themselves to save innocent people...
33:26 - a masterstroke by the makers of this film to create Lucius because in the old batman movies we never got an explanation as to how Batman got his gadgets... And this moment elevated my respect for him! He knew that even Batman was crossing a line here because he was spying on innocent people but knew it was for the greater good to stop the Joker! And he said to Bruce "so long as we are doing shady shit like this, I won't be on your team..."
Joker tells Batman in the Graphic Novel/Movie, The Killing Joke that he prefers his past to be multiple choice, that even doesnt remember his origins. Always love yalls reactions..
one thing i loved about nolan's batman is bruce's dry wit and sarcasm he has from the comics, he tends to do that as bruce and batman "im not wearing hockey pad" or"oh they should, i own the place" lol brillant film
Just discovered y’all. Y’all are awesome. This is one of my favorite movies and I think you felt the same things. I felt when I saw it in the theater. Y’all are awesome. Thank you so much.
It’s so awesome to get to experience this for the first time when it came out in 2008 and then to watch others do it 15 years later. This was one of the most hyped movies of all time. Literally a year of commercials websites everything promoting this movie. And it went above the bar and delivered.
It was such an amazing moment. I went to a midnight premiere, and i remember correctly, midnight premieres weren’t really a thing at the time so i was wondering if anyone would show up. Ours had 10 theatres all playing TDK and every single one was sold out. It was epic
32:25 - apparently the Joker had his finger on the hammer so even if Dent flipped the coin so that he'd have to kill him, the Joker made sure him dying wasn't a possibility...
I always heard from the cast in interviews how truly frightening Heath was as the joker. I never really thought about it but imagine how intimidating it must have been to act along Heath in some of these scenes. Michael jail white literally said Heath would show up on set, even if it wasn't his shoot, and just be in full joker character just mumbling off in the corner by himself and just being unhinged. It makes so much sense why so many of these actors were actually afraid of him in their scenes because you quite literally never knew what he was gonna do. He lived, breathed and died as this character unfortunately 😞 rip legend
Yesssssss seeing this pop up just made my dayyyy!!!! NEXT MUST IS THE 2000 Spider-Man Series 💯💜🐐 excited to start watching the reaction… dropped a like already cuz JOKER I KNOW DIDNT DISSAPOINT! 💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥 rip legend
At the end, you guys got one of Joker's most consistent tropes right - his notion that *all it takes to drive the sanest man to lunacy is a very bad day*.
how powerful is it to show the joker going into a mob meeting SOLO to force their hand out of half their money and coming out unscathed. Next level untouchable
@@b33fsupe Yeah, we've been initiated into the group that has seen these films. The uninitiated are the newcomers who are becoming initiated. It's a figure of speech spanning generations. I mean, I hope everyone in the comments has seen the movie being reacted to, because that's the whole fun of watching someone else react - you get to feel like you're re-experiencing it, something you can never do unless you only saw it once a long time ago and don't really remember it, or at least re-experience from a new/different perspective. I tried watching a reaction to something I hadn't seen yet, and it just wasn't nearly as fun because I had no idea what was going on.
16:29 Fun Fact: The Dialogue between Rachel and the Joker was NOT in the script and her panic was real, she was looking around at the director and stuff, she was actually terrified
Greatest movie of all time, best Batman movie, best comic book movie next to Spiderman 2 . I love the living hell out of The Dark Knight, Batman Returns and Batman Mask of the Phantasm. This was such a treat seeing it in theaters for the first time
Imagine how mild this movie would’ve been if heath ledger was never the joker. Makes me wonder how much was rewritten to give him more screen time. He made this an absolute masterpiece. Rest In Peace.
When they first announced Batman Dark Knight and that Health Ledger was going to play the joker people were pissed because they said he was going to ruin the movie but now he is one of the greatest jokers of all time.
Honestly i cant wait for y'all to watch the dark knight rises... This is by far the only channel that shows the movie without the movie disappearing off the screen while y'all react to something.
The reason for a different Rachael is because, at the time of filming this movie, Katie Holmes was married to Tom Cruise, and Tom wasn’t comfortable with Katie playing a romantic partner to Aaron Eckhart because they played lovers in a previous film (Thank You for Smoking) which was also previous to Tom and Kate’s relationship.
First time I watched this movie in the cinema, I had no idea that was Heath Ledger. Blew my mind when I found out! It was hard to tell under all that makeup but wow, what a performance. RIP to a legend
Trust me when I tell you, being in the theatre when Joker takes off that mask… and the music hits as he says “Stranger” eeeeeveryone just froze… that was as fascinating as it was terrifying. What a performance
Dude, I absolutely loved your reaction to The Dark Knight. It is one of my favourite batman movies. Heath Ledgers Joker is the best version of the Joker I have ever seen, and I think the best now and forever. I was so sad for his family, friends, and daughter when Heath died . It would have been so awesome to see what he would have done with Joker the next time he played the Joker. RIP Heath Ledger.🇦🇺🤠✌️🔥🃏💚
I hear a lot of people talk about how worlds with heroes like this invited the kind of chaos their villains bring, the very strength of the heroes demanding challenge, even Marvel commented on it in the MCU, but I'm more interested in a world so dark it needs people like Batman just to counter the crazy with more crazy.
The guy you recognized from the bank with the shotgun, William Fitchtner, played SGT Sanderson in BlackHawk Down. The Delta Operator you see with Grimes, Ewan McGregor, a lot in the film. He also did some video game voice acting in MW3.
This is definitely one of the best Batman movies next to The Batman which was pretty good too awesome reaction you two. Heath Ledger joker is one of the best Joker.
Due to the popularity and critical acclaim of _The Dark Knight,_ the Academy expanded the field for Best Picture nominees from five to ten the following year. Along with that, Steven Spielberg himself has recently said that _The Dark Knight_ should have been nominated for Best Picture, which should tell you the quality of this film.
This was one of the few super hero movies I truly like. Was never a fan of majority of super heroes but the Dark Knight was just so different that it is basically my favorite of the few super hero movies I enjoy.

Heath Ledgers performance is one of the reasons why it's joker focused. It was his legendary role, shame he didn't get to enjoy the spotlight 😢. RIP
Such a great reaction video. Love seeing how effective Rachel's death scene always is
I still remember when I saw it in the cinema, people were screaming their heads off at the end. What an epic movie we had and I remember it fondly
Mister Reese is just a nod to the riddler just like officer Blake is a nod Robin in the third film.
naww dude , Christopher Nolan in interviews explicitly said Coleman Reese had nothing to do with the Riddler. People just looked into it too much
22:32 This bit from the media leads me back to a line from Green Goblin in Spider-Man
"The one thing they love more than a hero is to see a hero fail, fall, die trying. In spite of everything you've done for them, eventually, they will hate you."
I wish I could experience this movie for the first time again....
It really is a masterpiece and I don't think any other "Superhero" movie has ever quite surpassed it.
Y’all are one of the best movie reactors out there. Keep it up! So glad to see this. Love the formatting/editing.
Great reaction! This film is widely accepted as the greatest comic book film of all time. It’s epic
I have watched "Dark Knight" for the first time this year this summer.I am not a fan of superhero movies(And never was),but this film is truly amazing.Heat Ledger is a brilliant actor.
Wait until you see the Avengers movies 😅
Fun fact, that dinner party scene was the first time the actor playing alfred saw ledger in the full joker getup and character. He was so unnerved he forgot his line and nolan just left the take in. Goat performance
I always tear up at Gordon's closing narration. Such an EPIC film on all levels!!
heath ledgers performance as the joker is legendary...
may he rest in peace.
This is such a good movie. I never get tired of watching it.
This was the best reaction to this movie I've seen. We could tell the roller coaster you were on and that made the reaction. Great job! I just hit the subscribe button. Keep up the great uploads!
Dark Knight is my favorite movie! I am so glad you guys reacted to it. It was great reliving it through your eyes.
Hey guys this is the first time I’m watching one of your videos, i saw The Dark Knight and clicked cause its my favorite movie but you guys are the reason i stayed!
Great reaction, you guys are funny. I wished I'd knew to take a shot every time one of y'all said "Oooo!"
And he said to Bruce "so long as we are doing shady shit like this, I won't be on your team..."
loving both of your reaction so far.. so genuine.. keep it up!
Joker tells Batman in the Graphic Novel/Movie, The Killing Joke that he prefers his past to be multiple choice, that even doesnt remember his origins.
Always love yalls reactions..
Always loved how you can see Harvey grab the mob henchman before entering the car, at 33:50 in the video...
Their reactions at the end said it all...one of the greatest movies ever made and possibly the greatest superhero movie all time 👏 👏
one thing i loved about nolan's batman is bruce's dry wit and sarcasm he has from the comics, he tends to do that as bruce and batman "im not wearing hockey pad" or"oh they should, i own the place" lol brillant film
Just discovered y’all. Y’all are awesome. This is one of my favorite movies and I think you felt the same things. I felt when I saw it in the theater. Y’all are awesome. Thank you so much.
I’m SO GLAD u peeped that he told him the wring directions! This movie is such a classic. 🙌🏾 ✨
“a…dark knight.” Chef’s kiss 👌🏾
"It's not about money Its about sending a message... Everything burns."
It was epic
“250, 52nd street” Christopher Nolan is a genius.
Can't wait to see your Dark Knight Rises Reaction!
This is the 5th time I have watched ur reaction on this movie, and I don’t get tired of it
32:25 - apparently the Joker had his finger on the hammer so even if Dent flipped the coin so that he'd have to kill him, the Joker made sure him dying wasn't a possibility...
I started to get worried, but I'm glad all is well! Excited for this video 🙋🏾♂️
I always got chills when i hear those last lines of Gordon ❣️
At the end, you guys got one of Joker's most consistent tropes right - his notion that *all it takes to drive the sanest man to lunacy is a very bad day*.
I love when alfred was talking about the joker, "some people do evil things for power or money... and others, just wanna watch the whole world burn!"
Respect. I clapped too in the theater when he was named Commissioner Gordon! Great reactions
how powerful is it to show the joker going into a mob meeting SOLO to force their hand out of half their money and coming out unscathed. Next level untouchable
Always a treat to re-experience great movies through the eyes of the uninitiated :D
but we are initiated aren't we? members of the RUclips comments.
They’re referencing what Bane says in The Dark Knight Rises
16:29 Fun Fact: The Dialogue between Rachel and the Joker was NOT in the script and her panic was real, she was looking around at the director and stuff, she was actually terrified
Greatest movie of all time, best Batman movie, best comic book movie next to Spiderman 2 . I love the living hell out of The Dark Knight, Batman Returns and Batman Mask of the Phantasm. This was such a treat seeing it in theaters for the first time
Nolan trilogy is amazing. Hospital sence is one of the best sences
@1:02 The familiar actor playing the bank manager is William Fitchner. He’s been in tons of movies over the years and is fantastic in all of them.
Imagine how mild this movie would’ve been if heath ledger was never the joker. Makes me wonder how much was rewritten to give him more screen time. He made this an absolute masterpiece. Rest In Peace.
Jeje i say di same.
Best and most genuine TDK reaction by far.
When they first announced Batman Dark Knight and that Health Ledger was going to play the joker people were pissed because they said he was going to ruin the movie but now he is one of the greatest jokers of all time.
"Aw, come on, man... my grandmama gave me this detonator!"
"You mean... MY detonator?"
Honestly i cant wait for y'all to watch the dark knight rises...
This is by far the only channel that shows the movie without the movie disappearing off the screen while y'all react to something.
I watched the dark knight trilogy the first time this year and now it’s my all time favourite trilogy.
The hospital blowing up was legit. I live close to the location where they filmed. I remember it being on the news. Dope af
Nolan...Bale...Ledger...nothing more...🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love the intro as the intro of the movie rolls in!
You two are so cool! Love your reactions!
This got me
“Who took Rachel?”
“It was Ramirez…”
…..
“So it was Ramirez who took Rachel!”
I love the acting.. The part when Joker gets pushed off the building and he’s laughing as he is falling.. shit was dope
The guy you recognized from the bank with the shotgun, William Fitchtner, played SGT Sanderson in BlackHawk Down. The Delta Operator you see with Grimes, Ewan McGregor, a lot in the film. He also did some video game voice acting in MW3.
I remembered him foremost as the FBI agent in Prisonbreak
Colonel Willie Sharp, the space shuttle pilot from Armageddon
Prison break
He also did video game acting in GTA Vice City as Ken Rosenburg.
Heat and Contact 😊
Great reaction, cant wait for Dark Knight Rises reaction, get the tissues ready.
Great reaction video for such an iconic movie, guys! Thank you and HNY!
This is definitely one of the best Batman movies next to The Batman which was pretty good too awesome reaction you two. Heath Ledger joker is one of the best Joker.
Films don't get better than this. Masterpiece. Dark Knight Rises next!!
Michael Jai White's character, the gangster who announced a reward for killing Joker, starred in his own comic book movie, "Spawn."
And he stared as Mike Tyson for a HBO movie back in the day.
@@blitzphantom9488 Thanks for the info. I'm sure that he did a good job.
Love seeing reactions to The Dark Knight
You know that movie was harddddddd!!!! Fav batman movie, RIP Heath Ledger 🙏🏽❤️
Just found your channel. Looks like I've got a few days of reactions to catch up on. Great stuff guys!
The biggest tragedy of The Dark Knight is that Bruce never got a chance to tell Harvey, "Technically... SHE got him to sing."
This was one of the few super hero movies I truly like. Was never a fan of majority of super heroes but the Dark Knight was just so different that it is basically my favorite of the few super hero movies I enjoy.
Literally one of the best movies of all time
Congrats, You just watched the BEST Comic Book Movie of All time. Loved your reactions btw!
