It’s 2:28am Eastern time, August 22, 2022. I shared you to my Facebook page. Needless to say I am hooked!!!… I see those tall glasses with the leaves on them on your display. I have a similar set of my mother’s glasses packed away in my basement, along with many other items you talk about, including her custom jewelry. I am soo happy now that I held on to many dishes and jewelry of hers. Time for me to start unpacking. May God bless you for all you do to educate us in identifying valuables, thrifting and, selling😇💜

    I was wondering if I decided to do a video call and you were unable to figure out the market value for certain items? I always come across rare, unusual or unique items that you don’t see everyday. Sometimes even museum worthy pieces that tend to be one of a kind and occasionally unlock some lost history pertaining to the subject at hand.
    Do you just give a rough estimate based on your overall knowledge even if nothing like it has ever been sold? I have quite a few items that I know are “special” but I wouldn’t even know where to begin with placing the value. I have items I know I can sell for hundreds but I refuse to sell them because there is a chance they can be worth thousands.. So my main question is how to you determine the price of something that is possibly one of a kind, rare, unusual, etc.?

    • @DrLoriV
      @DrLoriV  2 года назад +3

      My appraisals are based on actual sales where similar pieces have sold. They include an analysis of the market, identification, and other information. What other questions may I answer for you? Museum pieces are not always one of a kind nor are they ultra valuable just because they are included in a museum collection.
