- Follow me, Ph.D. Antiques Appraiser Dr. Lori, as I find a Starbucks collectible, a piece of blue Pyrex, E.O. Brody milk #glass, china and much more thrift #shopping at a Goodwill thrift shop in Avon, Connecticut. Plus, see the mid-century modern sets, Cat's Meow pieces and Rosenthal porcelain with its mark that I uncovered.
Do you like to do #diy projects with furniture? Wonder if you are ruining a chair's value when you are repainting it? Well, see the oak, 1940s and acorn finial chairs I found. Use these examples to learn about valuing furniture. Watch me explain the ladder and arrow backs and rush and needlepoint seats. It's all at the Goodwill thrift shop and I left it all there for you!

Thank-You Dr. Lori for these "Thrift with me" videos! I enjoy learning from you! There are many thrifting videos out there, but to be able to learn from a professional for free is invaluable!
I could listen to Dr. Lori teach us about furniture all day long!
We need more from you. Can you talk to us more! We love you Dr. Lori! Thank you for being there to educate us! ❤
Everyone: Would you all pay a small monthly fee for me to offer more videos each month?
Love your teaching Lori, you’re the best!❤
I am 74 and married 52 years. So many things I gave away (the cane ladder back chairs, the cat’s meow pieces) show up now as desirable. Don’t tell my husband. He is forever telling me to not declutter everything. Who knew being neat could be so expensive?
That my Goodwill store! We brought a lot of things from my Mom’s house there when she died. I’m bringing things of my own there fairly often these days. I’m not moving but clearing out a lot that I just don’t need. And, of course, I shop there. I always find a cookbook or two. I enjoy them for awhile then donate them back and get a few more. I’ve also bought some clothing there. I’ve lost 145 lbs. and it was nice to be able to find something I liked whatever size I was. I also appreciate that It’s kept up really well. I’ve always found it to be clean and well organized.
0:52 Thanks for these tips. Identifying glassware is so tricky. 2:24 I would’ve never guessed they’d resell for so much. 4:08 omg 😮the blue is pretty but resell value blows my mind 6:15 I have a tea cup like that 😊 11:46 my grandmother had a chair like that she used at a vanity
We just remodeled our kitchen of our 1850's 2 story brick home. Have white distressed farmers style custom made cabinets. Painted the walls blue. I've collected lots of cobalt blue antique glass. Love it!
I could watch Dr Lori’s teaching videos all day long! TY for bringing us along, your the cat’s meow! 🐈🧡
Most new coffee mugs new are around $10.00..that's why I always buy mine at garage sales or thrift stores.
Always entertaining and educational. Thank you.
I little part of me dies each time I see wood that someone has painted over.

never found any other Starbuck.
Learned something new about milk glass. Thank you! I love that E O Brody bouquet vase.
Incredible amount of useful information in all your videos! Thank you for all the help as I try to identify, value and sell my vintage collections. I wouldn't have the confidence I have now without your help, Dr. Lori. Makes all the difference in the world when deciding on what to buy and sell. You'd be proud to know I lost my fear of negotiating, too. I surprised myself when I asked if a necklace would be 50% off like the others on sale. You made a big difference in how I manage my business.
Thank you Dr Lori 😬 I have seen the market on the Starbucks cups and I agree 100%. I’m glad you mentioned these cups as a lot of people would be surprised by that piece of information. Thanks again 👏🏼 😊

Hello Dr. Lori, I really appreciate all the information you give us on so many different kind of items. I am learning a lot from you. I bet I know what the inside of your house looks like 😱
I’m just not seeing the prices you say these things will sell for. I sure WISH I could sell my finds for what you say they’re worth. Maybe in some parts of country? Not in Chicago.
