It's stuff like this that sets you apart from the others Sorin. I know how it is; for most of my life I lived in a place where we had to improvise and adapt for many repairs because that was in most cases the only option. This is as REAL as it gets.

Hi, I say it is a good repair, just adding a different DC to DC converter (power supply) as a source for the 1V. One point though. The free space you used to place the PC board looks like the place for the M.2 NVME hard drive. You need to keep this free for the hard drive, you just have to find another place where the PC board would fit.

If there is one available. But even without one we already know that this can be only VCCIO (0,95V), VCCST (1,05V) or VCCSA (1,05V). Only other possibility would be VCCGT but that would draw much more than under 0,5A.
So in case of VCCIO is 10% over spec and in case of other two 10% under. In case of VCCIO running it at 1V is not a big deal (most OC desktop boards give you option to go much higher than that) and other can in theory make system somewhat unstable but I'd be surprised if it make any difference on laptop.
