In the words of Sorin. "This is a really nice one". I've learned something from this video especially the BQ chip replacement. Some chips are interchangeable.
great video sorin .. basic observation on both sides is neccessary after liquid damage i would imagine .. im not a tech by any means and would never insult sorin in his work i've got too much respect for his work ..
When comparing "bq chip 735" to "bq chip 725," the "735" is generally considered a newer or more advanced version of the "725" chip, often offering improved features or performance, depending on the specific application; in the context of battery chargers from Texas Instruments, the "bq 24735" typically has more advanced charging capabilities compared to the "bq 24725.".
Great Video. well.. when you have liquid damage.. always inspect both sides of the board.. no fancy tools needed, look for burned looking pins, resistors.. that probably shorting the board...
The BQ chip was a battery monitor? Those are bastards. They cut off the battery if they feel like it, have to be reset through 12C bus, if even possible. Some manufacturers use a nonstandard passkey.
Can you make video on the setup you have , tools how you make video and how you get the reading on the multimeter and power supply on the screen please .
Sorin have a question. when you replace a chip is not easier to heat up the board before putting down the chip? this way wont have to apply that much heat straight on the chip.
Your explanation is very good in identifying that fault, one would think it was the KBC and it is 2 capacitors and a mosfet. Thank you very much for the time you spend explaining and for the subtitle in Spanish, thank you.
Sir, i love your videos but i am wondering why you dont make a visual check in both sides of the motherboard, specifically when you know that it came with a water damage issue? I respect you and i hope you conceder this comment as a positive one . Thanks for your understanding. And thanks for your efforts .
Hello, what is the model of your HTI thermal camera. I use as it appears to be the same one and it does not look as crisp as yours. I know that there are several out there but maybe you can chime in on the one that you are using. Thanks in advance!!
I saw a lots of liquid damaged laptops, worked 6 years at repair shop. In case of liquid damage take the board completely out for visual inspection. From the start i was talking to my self "take the board out, take the board out" :)
What if windows usb installer crashes during booting stage... bios updated, legacy mode disabled/enabled, UEFI disabled/enabled, tried everything but shows only windows logo in split of a second then goes crashing, couldn't even reach recovery mode...couldn't even load a new OS.... could it be a hardware issue? Kindly, I need help. Thanks!
We’re the shorted capacitors in the bios voltage circuit? We saw a short on pin 8 of the bios chip before you removed the three capacitors. Was the BQ chip definitely bad? What would happen if you re-soldered the old one back after removing the 3 shorted capacitors? Would it still work?

So, you can just remove faulty components from the motherboard without resoldering them and everything works again?! Why then there were there in the first place?!
You forgot to say the liquid damage we found on the keyboard side of the motherboard and 3 shorted capacitors preventing the computer from turning on. And the white light when the A.C. Adapter is plugged in.
Nu ți-o spun în nume de râu....o greșeală de începător să nu verifici si pe partea cealaltă...dar mi-a plăcut... m-am văzut pe mine încercând. Spor de la Iași.
"its still shorted, haaaahaaa", i love this guy and his work

Enjoying your repairs as it’s mine exactly
Good job
No capacitor, no short! I like it.😇
well done, I laughed so much (even when the thermal-cam shut itself down at the worst possible moment) - that's educational entertainment
The customer should be charged more for the bq chip upgrade, but he should be given a discount for 2 capacitors that you did not replace.😁
😆😆😆
This wins the "reply of that day" price 😄
no caps no short 😂

Sorin have a question. when you replace a chip is not easier to heat up the board before putting down the chip? this way wont have to apply that much heat straight on the chip.
You could also replace the old solder with leaded solder.
Another miracle from the professor! But ... did he ever replace the 2 fried caps? LOL!
would have been best to replace the other one also
Great work nice to see your work...
Thank you for all you do 🎉👍💯
I love this guy your lessons are just wow they help me so much ❤❤
We learned that if water damaged remove the board and inspect both sides😊😊😊😊😊
Which PSU Charger tips are you using?
Thanks again.
Audio good here

Great video
Sorin, the state of your red DMM probe cable. Just as well you are not also doing killer voltages... lol
More one great job!
Good job mate 👍
When will the replacing capacitor video be released? The difference between the BQ chips is one quacks the other doesn't.
That BIOS chip looked dodgy to me at the pins on the right??
Fianally! Ive veiwed all of your vids... Wow!
Hey Sorin
Are your charger leads connected to your power supply I see they are a usbc type connection.
Thanks
Your genius ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I learned to take out the motherboard and check other side first xD

He hates taking out boards as he mentioned in one of his vids😂
@@capndelirious yeah, that i can understand xD
Sorin watched you replace a chipset , as a bit of fun if you have a old board that work maybe try and remove and replace the processor
Everybody thinks, that Ray Liotta is dead, but in fact he is repairing notebooks somewhere in UK.

No main voltage with old BQ chip, which is present with new one even without replacing shorted capacitors.
Bq usually goes bad by a short somewhere on the board
Nice one
You didn't replace the capacitors???
Good job, does anyone know how much a repair like this costs?
50% laptop price

I was yelling at the screen for you to check the back of the board BEFORE u started raising up to 5 amps..
@33:35 "the short is gone" lol
after fixing countless laptops before.
Sorin: LOL
In this video
Sorin : I fixed it. I can't believe it
Im not an electronic repair but i enjoy the your fanny side 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love this guy, but if he took the board out straight away ( 30 seconds) he would have saved himself half an hour 😅
Audio is okay for me
Its good to learn from one's mistakes, as long as the cost is near zero.
**They are free lessons.** Expensive mistakes aren't good to learn from.
Its not shorted!! Gooood! Well... thats bad! 😂
That empty RAM socket is taunting my OCD!
GAAH!😂
Sir kindly clean your microscope camera 😊😊
1 risistor damaged around bq chip. why dont change it.?
yes why ? this is boot strap and must be changed.mybe it is not burn becuse if it burn it cuses Huge problems
It looked like there was liqiud between the outer case and the screen.
So those 2 missing caps will be replaced right ? before giving the laptop back to the customer.

I could not leave that bios chip soldered that way.
If it walks like duck, quacks like a duck it must be a duck.
Vedo spesso i tuoi video e sei formidabile. Ma commetti sempre l’errore di non smontare la scheda. Perché? 😅
Opera browser can not play the video ?! But Edge can ! and I am running on Linux ....
I find Opera pretty useless these days, not sure why but I just went to Firefox...
25:06 no no no 😭😭😭
