In the words of Sorin. "This is a really nice one". I've learned something from this video especially the BQ chip replacement. Some chips are interchangeable.

When comparing "bq chip 735" to "bq chip 725," the "735" is generally considered a newer or more advanced version of the "725" chip, often offering improved features or performance, depending on the specific application; in the context of battery chargers from Texas Instruments, the "bq 24735" typically has more advanced charging capabilities compared to the "bq 24725.".

Great Video. well.. when you have liquid damage.. always inspect both sides of the board.. no fancy tools needed, look for burned looking pins, resistors.. that probably shorting the board...

The BQ chip was a battery monitor? Those are bastards. They cut off the battery if they feel like it, have to be reset through 12C bus, if even possible. Some manufacturers use a nonstandard passkey.

We’re the shorted capacitors in the bios voltage circuit? We saw a short on pin 8 of the bios chip before you removed the three capacitors. Was the BQ chip definitely bad? What would happen if you
re-soldered the old one back after removing the 3 shorted capacitors? Would it still work?

    Salut Sorin
Ti-l pot trimite in vederea unei reparații ?
    Aștept un răspuns și mulțumesc
