Hi. I have been following your channel for quite some time now from my point of view you one of the most Genuine Teachers of electronics I have ever come across online. Being in the computer repair business for about 10-15years my version of the repair was finding what part went bad and then replacing that part which is very basic since watching and studying your videos I have a better working knowledge of diagnosing and troubleshooting. I know I still have a lot to learn but you make learning easy and fun. I want to say thank you for taking the time out to make such educational videos on electronics repair. you have been an inspiration to many of us Please keep up the good work.
interesting points ,if anyone else wants to learn about pcb trace repair try Saankramer Electronic Magazine System (just google it ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my brother in law got great results with it.
One of the best teachers, I'm following you for 1 year, and in every lesson you give me something that in the past years other teachers can't able to explain as you. Please never stop to do your lessons, Greetings from Italy my master Antonio Micello
Wow for a biginner like I'am this is just awesome! Most videos on youtube are just for advanced technitian, they're only speaking for themselves. I think the most important point here was how to follow the track, that's the key. Thank you!
Don't try bridging MOSFETS. Good advice. Back in the 70's I use to tuneup my cars replacing plugs, points and condensers. Then they started putting in fuel injectors and computer circuits. Now I take my truck to people who know what they are doing. Their experience is just as valuable to me as the parts they use. I enjoy your videos. They help me appreciate a hidden world of electronics all around me
If he did not bridge the MOSFET then the other option was to throw away the dead Laptop but by bridging the MOSFET the laptop turns on and might works for years until there is power surge to damage other components!!!
I am a beginner and have already learned so much from you. I would like to thank you for your videos and the time that goes into making them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
It is nice to see something simple. I am on my third laptop to learn this and it looks like I won't find the fault...Things do go very complicated indeed and situations where you just give up pop up all the time. For a noob it may be simple when one looks at your videos but in reality it is very overwhelming. Well at least for me. Thanks Sorin for your work.
Good Video.. I like the *"Beginner Point of View"* idea... Alot of us are just starting out... You should do more like these... i know this is an older vid, but the idea is good & different than everything else on uTube.. You should do fault finding videos like that too... maybe even common components & how to test them with meter in-circuit to know if they are bad, *HOW* to test them.. Thanks keep up the good work Soron...
There are never enough videos for those just starting to repair laptops, but this video I found excellent increasingly sorin becomes an excellent educator to find some of the easiest problems to repair and find. Thank you, excellent.
Yo this video was perfect in every way and helped me answer and break so many barriers where my questions lay. I appreciate this video very much. I would love to see you do this again.
Thank you, makes me want to learn electronic basics, then being a better and more complete computer technician. It's so satisfying to be able to repair electronic boards instead of throwing them away.. Keep up the good work!!
I've been given some faulty laptops, I know two have power issues. This is the first video I've seen that actually helps me understand the basics of laptop power distribution instead of just rattling off acronyms from a schematic.
Thank you Sorin I am learning but I appreciate the time you take to teach rather than money it means a lot to me and I think many others keep up the good work
You are a great teacher...you keep it simple. I would have liked it if you had shown where you bridged the MOSFET as a beginner just to be sure thanks.
At first I made the decision to watch your long video (1+ Hr) and it was interesting !!! But today I found, you are really awesome. Ultimately/finally I had to subscribe to avail your superb knowledge. Great work and research dear !!! KEEP IT UP. Best wishes from LAHORE
Excellent video 8-) Myself an Acer Laptop that doesn't light the screen, I was informed that the video 'chip' was gone! Now I can hopefully check the power jack/port side of the mobo. I have an eye glass (30x) but even that might be no good in this situation. At least I will be aware of that now thanks.
Perfect, working on the exact same laptop, magnification was a big help. 👍 Edit: Put it back together and found the plastic on the charger tip stripped from wear and tear, positive was shorting in the port.

Honestly I don't think I have the technical know how to troubleshoot the problem with the multimeter, but I'm really inspired by your video to give it a try . After all, I don't think I can do any more damage to the laptop as it is now. Thank you so much for taking the time to make all these videos.
