Cameron is the master of movie sequels so far. My favorite scene in T2 is the phone call with the T-1000 posing as the stepmother and how the T-800 outsmart him with the wrong name of the dog.
The scene when the Terminators start fighting in the mall, which leads into the vehicle chase through the flood system is my favorite action sequence ever. It's probably my favorite part of the whole movie considering it sticks out in my mind the most. Haven't seen the movie in its entirety in years but going to revisit is soon
I always imagine Michael Myers vs Jason, and basically model them fighting after the T2 mall fight where they're throwing each other into the walls and shit haha
My top movies are Halloween 1978 The Empire Strikes Back Terminator 2 The Mask The Matrix A Nightmare on Elm Street Child's Play 2 Scream Aliens Marvel's Avengers Spider-Man 1 & 2 from Sam Raimi
Many years later and this film is still one of my favorite films of all time and I agree filmmakers have tried to chase the shadow of this film so many times without much success, it would be nearly impossible to top or match this movie when adding to this franchise. You know a movie is going to be amazing when even just the first 20 seconds of the movie catches your attention and shows the grim reality of what the movie is about.
I remember crying my eyes out when the T800 died and then crying in school the next day when talking about it. Not many films have been able to do that to me, and that's why I'll defend Aghnulds acting and this film until the bitter end!
Wow, I didn't expect any kind of Drumdums references in your videos anymore. It took me off guard. Even more surprised to see you dub him "no threat". That's definitely sarcasm, cuz things still don't look very rosy around him.
Loved how Cameron was going for a slender Bowie/Billy Idol type as he said for the T-1000. Worked to perfection with an unknown Robert Patrick. Visionary. All time classic.
Sarah Conner shooting the T-1000 towards the end was such a bad ass moment! The only thing missing was some yelling, cussing, anything! She didn’t say a single word. Such a missed opportunity
Terminator 2: Judgment Day is not only one of the best sequels ever made. It is not only the greatest action movie. But T2 is more proof that the 1990s is one of the greatest decades in film history.
Definitely liked this film but I got to say T1 is hands down my favorite. It is just the perfect amalgamation of sci fi, horror, and action. It sets an amazing atmosphere. Also I have to disagree Arnold as the villain is so much better then the villain in this film. But I know I am probably in the minority though. This movie shows me that bigger isn't always better. I feel the first one is just more grounded and real.
This movie was just a perfect marriage of great casting, revolutionary special effects, James Camerons unrivaled showrunning ability, and a studio just going all out on its budget.
I was ABOUT to nitpick one tiny thing about T2. The T-800's visible cybernetic eye doesn't follow the movements of the organic eye. But then I considered the fact that the T-1000 did smash his face twice with that steel-whateveritwas so of course the logical explanation for that is that it simply got dented and jammed in the chassis. Case closed. Still a flawless movie! 💪
The CGI on that cop were amazing to look at and after that classic movie, every movie in the '90s like The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie fails to capture the CGI magic that T2 did.
I'll never know why, but my grandma bought me this in 1992. It was my introduction to Terminator. It quickly became a favourite and would watch it all the time. I became obsessed with it so much, that I started writing my own fan fiction. For 1st grader, it was pretty ambitious. I wish I still had those stories. I remember exchanging movies with a friend who had the first movie and never seen T2. It was really scary and I couldn't accept Terminator being bad, but I did enjoy it immensely. I can recall covering my eyes when the love scene happened because my parents were watching it with me lol. Sorry to rant, but thought I'd share my little history with Terminator. Thanks for the great review, agree with you %100, that this movie is flawless.
In my top 5 favorite movies of all time. Still remember seeing it in theaters in 91 the weekend it came out and was completely blown away by how awesome it was and still is.
Another very funny intro - you’re really on a roll with these! Just as with the first movie, we’re in agreement on this one pretty much down the line: this is my favorite Terminator film, probably my favorite Cameron movie overall, and one of my favorite action pictures. It was a very puzzling marketing decision to reveal in the trailers that Schwarzenegger was trying to protect Furlong instead of kill him: imagine the shock that audiences would have received if they hadn’t known about that in advance! Definitely agree on how convincing the digital effects still look: that modern work isn’t usually much more effective than this is both impressive and a little sad. The technical Oscars that this film won were completely deserved. The quality effects underline big difference in cost between the first film & this one: while the original had a budget of only $6 million or so (which was stretched very well), this movie was around $100 million (a record for the time). Another big achievement was that, while the first film had some genuine emotion amid all the action (between Biehn & Hamilton), this film produces some as well, but between Schwarzenegger & Furlong - an even greater achievement if you think about it. The balance between humor, action & suspense has seldom been equaled by any movie. The only nitpick I really have with this film (and with most of Cameron’s movies) is that the script underlines its themes a little too heavily, but the rest of the movie is so good that that’s easily forgiven. One interesting detail: James Cameron originally wanted Michael Biehn to play the T-1000, so as to create a reversal of his & Schwarzenegger’s roles from the first film, but he ultimately decided that it would be too confusing for the audience!
I remember seeing this very young, shortly after it went on VHS (it is also the first R Rated movie I've ever seen) and even though I couldn't even say the name right (I switched the M and the R) by the time the movie was over I was loving the story and was very sad at the end of it. It is still one of my favorite movies of all time.
This is where the Terminator franchise should have ended... no more Terminator movies, we're done, it's over, let it go... because T2 is by far not only one of the best sequels but one of the best action films of all time hands down. There's no outdoing this movie so they shouldn't even have tried. One of Arnold's best performances ever, and from Robert Patrick as well--the T1000 is by far one of the scariest Gillian's you'd ever have the misfortune to encounter. Right up there with Freddy and Jason and the Alien. Nobody does it like James Cameron. Right along with Die Hard, Speed, The Professional, and Predator 1 and 2, T2 is (like I said) one of the best action flicks ever. They don't make 'em like this anymore. Great review, Cody.
My family used to like going to Hollywood Casino in Tunica, MS and they had the T-1,000 cop suit with the metallic bullet holes in it on display. So badass.
Great review Cody.My feelings exactly.Whenever I start talking about it I can't stop.Saw it 2 years ago for the 3D rerelease.I drove an hour +for this release. Not one theatre nearby me was showing it.
Grew up watching T2 almost daily as a kid as I would re-enact the scene where Arnie walks out of the bar & "Bad to the Bone" starts playing just acting like a complete badass...Its also one of two movies where it is hard for me to watch the end because I've always loved Arnold growing up & seeing him being lowered into the pit with a final thumbs up always hit me really hard but that's just how much I love T2! Thank you Cody for reviewing one of my favorite movies!
my thoughts on the first movie you reviewed were RUTHLESS and what a Terminator movie should be. My thoughts on T2 is, great sequel, loved it when it came out,had it on laserdisc, still holds up today "as does the first movie",..but the older i get the more im not as crazy about humanizing the terminator so much. But over all I agree. Great movie..
Seen it at cinema aged 16 in 1991 it blew my mind & till this day it is one of the best action sci-fi films ever made, tense, dramatic, action packed, brilliantly acted & emotional, 10/10 Didn't need sequels this film ended the story perfectly but nah they had go fuck it up with those PG-13 inferior movies. Awesome review Cody completely agree with everything you said in this excellent review.
Will forever be a top 10 science fiction action film for me an mine. I am glad to see you be able to dive into this Cody :) well done was a fun insightful watch.
It's difficult to argue against this being one of. if not the best action movies of all time. I can't think of one that's more re-watchable and as good from start to end. It's never dull. It's flawless. Totally agreed! The casting and acting was subperb. There wasn't one character that annoyed me or wasn't necessary to the story
I agree. One of my favorite action films. Best sequel-AFTER The Dark Knight of course. No-Terminator 2: Judgement Day and The Dark Knight are neck to neck in my favorite sequels. BAD-ASS films!!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽 This is actually the only Terminator film I will even watch. I haven’t seen the other ones, and I don’t care to. The new one coming up is a big MAYBE for me simply because of the Sarah Conner character. We’ll see..... Great review as always, Cody! 🤗👍🏽👍🏽
Love it went to see this in the cinema last year as it was re released here (Ireland) I missed it first time round 1991 as I was only 11 years old and couldn't get in to see it had to go see Robin Hood prince of thieves instead. Great review as usual Cody thank you!
Loved the opening track man!! To this day still one of my favourite movies, the dream sequence when Sarah falls asleep while getting weapons used to scare the shit outta me as a kid.
Arnie spin-cocking that custom Winchester do0mstick might have been an homage to the Western heroes of yesteryear. In the commentary to T2: Special Edition, James Cameron mentions that it's a 10-gauge, which means it might be a model 1901 rather than an 1887. Also, Arnie trained himself to shoot ambidextrously during the first movie, to be in keeping with the character (and to maintain tactical versatility), because it's canon that all Terminators are ambidextrous. Not only that, but they can aim independently with both eyes! That means they can "gunzerk" better than Salvador and Nisha combined! 1:47 I did that with my first VHS copy of Evil Dead 2 when I was a teenager in the '90s. 10:06 False. James Cameron compares him to a Porsche versus Arnie's tank. Arnie being compared to a tank is extra-appropriate seeing as how he was a tank driver in the Austrian Army when he was young. 10:09 More like slim, sleek, and cut. Not unlike Michael Biehn, but slighter shorter and more muscular. Both of them are only slightly shorter than Arnie, with Rob being the closest to average height, Arnie being only slightly taller than average, and Mike being in between. They were all fitness enthusiasts in their prime. Fun fact: Mike used mid-70s Robert DeNiro (as per Taxi Driver) as his body template when he was getting in shape to play Reese. In short, most people aren't built like action figures, but are still capable of being "carved out of wood." Note: '80s Mike was wasp-wasted with a V-shaped torso. Kind of an endurance runner's body type, whereas '80s Arnie looked more like a genetically-engineered football player. 10:20 More like an infiltrator, less like a shock trooper.
"I can't let you take the man's bike sun" love it love it love it. When you get a chance I would love to know your thought on the Sarah Connor Chronicles.
THE BEST action movie EVER made! Simple watch the movie today on BR/4K and think about it is from 1991! It’s unbelievable. Cameron is in his own stratosphere! ♥️
This is legitimately one of my favorite movies of all time! I just watched it with my 8yo daughter, which is how old I was when I went to the movies to watch it with my mom back when it came out! She loved it! I agree with pretty much everything you said! Best villian, best John Connor, best score. I even think its Arnold's best T-800 portrayal in the franchise. One aspect to touch on too is that you don't know which Terminator is which while watching for the first time. You don't know which one is there to protect John, or if they both are gonna try to kill him until they meet in the mall scene. I just think that whole thing builds some of the suspense that makes this movie great as well! Anyway, keep the content coming fam! I love your channel!
Every time I watch your videos especially movies I love to death like terminator 2 and nightmare 3 and you talk about childhood and your favorites growing up, I realize I think we would have been best friends growing up we seem to have grown up loving alot of the same movies. This was another great video still makes me laugh that you and durbania didn't know about these reviews so awesome I love when you two do stuff together.
This is the best movie ever made and this review is the best i have seen, no question. Growing up in the early 90’s and watching this on vhs, there are no words to describe the level of excitement for a young kid watching this for the very first time. Nothing will ever be that, thank you James Cameron 👍🏼
Hands down my favorite film ever never got tired of it, I own probably 6 or 7 different copies of the dvds they sell different incarnations vhs etc, as a kid born in 1990 it is definitely my favorite binge watch movie of all time
Great review for a great film. That point you made about the comedy being a nice little chaser for some of the extremely intense sequences was spot on. Whereas in the first film, a lot of the smirks came from Lance Henriksen's and Paul Winfield's characters and Ginger's boyfriend but like T2, they didn't detract from the established status quo and just how far the stakes were gonna rocket.
I stopped at 8:06 to write this comment. So far, this is a spot on review. I haven't thought about my top ten movie in a while, but T2 is in it. Damn GOOD film and review. I may disagree with you on some films but this one I totally agree with you on.
T2 still is the movie I’ve seen in the theaters the most times. I went 7 times as a kid. Still have a few of the tickets too. One of the best films ever!
At the very beginning of the movie, those first few opening almost sorrow filled notes with the shots of the city streets. Then while everything's burning, the four pieces of playground equipment representing the 4 horsemen. This movie will be dope forever.
This is my favorite movie. I first saw this when I was 10 on AMC. I think for a 1991 movie the effects still hold up. I was wondering if you have seen the extended cut that is about 15 minutes longer than original? I've only seen the theatrical cut once on tv. Also did you hear Linda Hamilton got a ear injury in the elevator because she shot a gun without earplugs. Great Review, for one of the BEST movies!
This was the 1st rated R moview I ever saw, I was 5 & I cried hard at the end! It made me an Arnold fan & to this day this is my favorite movie ever! I never get sick of watching it lol
11:30 The T-1000 can blend in and seem normal. It passes itself off as a normal cop trying to do his job and catch a troublemaker kid and no one even suspects that it's a killer robot from the future trying to kill a kid so he doesn't grow up to be the leader of the resistance against its master Skynet.
Personally I think Thomas dekker from Sarah Connor chronicles was a nice replacement since Edward furlong hasn’t done John Connor since t2 before returning for dark fate
I love the first 2 so much. I can't decide which is better I love fhe 1st for being the 80s classic and so simple yet so elegant and amazing. But in t2 i love the themes and emotions it gives me and the vibe I get. I love watching Kyle and Sarah try to survive and Kyle talking about the future but I also love that dynamic that John and the Terminator have and the ending is just ugh....I can't decide which is better, i really can't. They're both so perfect its neck and neck for me
A childhood favorite of mine, which is weird to say, because it's so violent, but hey, that's how the 90s were. Aladdin one minute, T2 the next. The pacing in this film is incredible! That first hour is just non-stop! I love it!
This movie is legitimately one of the greatest ever made.
not only this movie set the bar would of never got movies like the matrix, or xmen if it wasn't for t2
That’s the truth
Both movies are one of the greatest and two of the best movies in sci-fi history.
The greatest
It,s the best non stop action film of all time/nothing can top it
Cameron is the master of movie sequels so far. My favorite scene in T2 is the phone call with the T-1000 posing as the stepmother and how the T-800 outsmart him with the wrong name of the dog.
My favorite movie of all time. As much as i like the first one. After this one it all goes downhill. :(.
Easily the best of the franchise. One of my favorite movies of all time.
Why do i feel threatened by the intro to this video? Hmmm
YOURE STILL ALIVE?!?!?!?!
You should
“I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle.”
Fun facts : there's a mission of the same name in GTA 4 where Niko is ordered to take down members of the Lost MC
Brevon Thompson’s Film Reviews and Gaming you forgot to say please
Terminator 2 Judgement Day will always be the best Terminator movie, it will never ever be topped!!
Just got done watching this movie and it’s the best action movie I’ve ever watched. 5/5 Stars
This movie was bad ass when it came out........it’s still that good.
"Say, that's a nice bike."
The highway chase is one of my favorites really sets up that awesome pace of action in this movie

It's so iconic you play this chase on GTA San Andreas

As much as I like Genysis, None of the sequels will be as iconic as T2.

RIP Chris Stuckman.😄
Loved how Cameron was going for a slender Bowie/Billy Idol type as he said for the T-1000. Worked to perfection with an unknown Robert Patrick. Visionary. All time classic.
One of the few times that a sequel is better than the original film. My brother and I would watch T2 as kids in the 90s & cry when he dies at the end.

“Stay here. I’ll be back”
I agree with every word of this review. My favorite action film of all time. Great job Cody!
As far as action movies go. Terminator 2, Raiders of the Lost Arc & Die Hard are probably my top 3

THE greatest sequel of all time.
Also, with an absolutely beautiful OST

Just like uncle Sean Terminator 2: Judgement Day is my favorite movie of all time
The CGI on that cop were amazing to look at and after that classic movie, every movie in the '90s like The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie fails to capture the CGI magic that T2 did.
Oridginally James cameron got the idea from the water head motion effects in The Abyss from89. And then he took1step/cranked it up all the way to11
Also am I the only one who laughs when the terminator pushes that lady cop and sleeks across the hallway 😂😂
I laugh every time!
Cody Leach lol just too funny
Cody Leach also when they go through the fence dragging the T-1000 and he’s sliding on his stomach on the road
“Hasta la Vista baby”

Gave you a thumbs up because I can't believe nobody else did in three years. Thanks for sharing with us all. CHEERS
3:48 Sarah even says that the T-800 was a better father figure to John than any of her boyfriends.
In my top 5 favorite movies of all time. Still remember seeing it in theaters in 91 the weekend it came out and was completely blown away by how awesome it was and still is.

One of the greatest movies ever made. Nuff said.
Another very funny intro - you’re really on a roll with these!

Terminator 2 is one of the greatest action movies of all times in terms of its quality and influence.

In short, most people aren't built like action figures, but are still capable of being "carved out of wood."
Note: '80s Mike was wasp-wasted with a V-shaped torso. Kind of an endurance runner's body type, whereas '80s Arnie looked more like a genetically-engineered football player.
10:20 More like an infiltrator, less like a shock trooper.
T2 is a perfect movie.
"I can't let you take the man's bike sun" love it love it love it. When you get a chance I would love to know your thought on the Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Only watched a few episodes. Never got into it
Give it another shot it gets better and I like the guy they got for John Connor not as good as the kid but still
Terminator - 8/10
Terminator 2 - 10/10
Terminator 3 - 5/10
Terminator Salvation 5/10
Terminator Genesis 4/10
THE BEST action movie EVER made!
Simple watch the movie today on BR/4K and think about it is from 1991! It’s unbelievable. Cameron is in his own stratosphere! ♥️
James Cameron is a god
Cody that intro was hilarious!! Great review also
This is legitimately one of my favorite movies of all time!
I remember watching this movie when I was little and being amazed by how good the movie was I still get goosebumps with the one liners in the movie
Hands down my favorite film ever never got tired of it, I own probably 6 or 7 different copies of the dvds they sell different incarnations vhs etc, as a kid born in 1990 it is definitely my favorite binge watch movie of all time
I've owned a shitload of copies as well lol
Great review for a great film. That point you made about the comedy being a nice little chaser for some of the extremely intense sequences was spot on. Whereas in the first film, a lot of the smirks came from Lance Henriksen's and Paul Winfield's characters and Ginger's boyfriend but like T2, they didn't detract from the established status quo and just how far the stakes were gonna rocket.
I agree with everything you said. Also, Terminator 2 is the one movie I saw the most in theaters; I saw it 8 times.
Whats the intro music?
Terminator Theme (Metal Version) by Ethan Casner
@@davidmancia5969 thank you
@@James-pt2vk no problem
That Terminator theme rocked up is awesome 🤙
My favourite movie of all time.
I stopped at 8:06 to write this comment. So far, this is a spot on review. I haven't thought about my top ten movie in a while, but T2 is in it. Damn GOOD film and review. I may disagree with you on some films but this one I totally agree with you on.
Please for the love of god tell me your thoughts on the terminator being in mortal kombat 11
Couldnt care less honestly
T2 still is the movie I’ve seen in the theaters the most times. I went 7 times as a kid. Still have a few of the tickets too. One of the best films ever!
Great intro 🤣🤣🤣
At the very beginning of the movie, those first few opening almost sorrow filled notes with the shots of the city streets. Then while everything's burning, the four pieces of playground equipment representing the 4 horsemen. This movie will be dope forever.
Flawless, iconic, masterpiece
This is my favorite movie. I first saw this when I was 10 on AMC. I think for a 1991 movie the effects still hold up. I was wondering if you have seen the extended cut that is about 15 minutes longer than original? I've only seen the theatrical cut once on tv. Also did you hear Linda Hamilton got a ear injury in the elevator because she shot a gun without earplugs. Great Review, for one of the BEST movies!
Only a word define this movie a masterpiece, one of the greatest movies of all time and a sequel much better than the first one
This was the 1st rated R moview I ever saw, I was 5 & I cried hard at the end! It made me an Arnold fan & to this day this is my favorite movie ever! I never get sick of watching it lol
T-2 and Aliens are my 2nd and 3rd favorite movies ever. Nothing will ever pass my #1 - John Carpenter's The Thing. Thank you Cody, great review.
This and Predator were definitely my most watched movies as a kid, I have great memories watching them with my Dad..Great review as usual, Cody!
Haven't seen a better T2 review. You just nailed it. Subscribed 👌
One of the few movies that make me whip up tears at the end.
I love it!
