Personally I disagree with you. I think for sequels its... (After t1 and t2) Salvation (As the best) then 3 then this film Then Genesis (Or however they want to spell it like a 90's edgy kid) T5 is still the worst (I don't think that is hard or a big bar to fill) I respect your opinion though. What you say "Fits most cleany" I disagree" and Something makes it pointless is all I will say haha
Cody is awesome and I definitely hope to communicate with him more through reviews, but I definitely don't agree with him with dark fate, and even though I'm about to say something unpopular, I like Freddy's Dead but I totally agree with Cody 100% on why he hates it. In other words, I feel the same way about dark fate that he feels about Freddy's Dead because I respect his opinion even though I still don't get why he likes dark fate LOL. With all due respect my friend.
Terminatorfan 2016 i totally agree with him. This movie was fun as hell and amazing and in no way deserves the hate it’s getting. I don’t care what anyone says.
Michael Anderson I have standards and you need to except your in the minority with your thoughts on the movie again you’ve fallen in to the trend of negativity for negativity sake unless it’s something that is universally beloved
Sorry, Cody but this one i disagree with ya on this movie since, in my opinion, it was just a rehash of the first 2 movies, they change 2 key elements that pretty much make the Terminator exist. There was no tension or something that makes this movie memorable. I can give credit that Linda Hamilton and Mackenzie Davis are the highlights of the movie but kinda reflects on what we have seen before, especially on Mackenzie's character. I'm surprised you didn't even mention the other character that pretty much plays a key role in this movie yet that character wasn't in the positive or negative. Overall, if i want to see the same thing over and over i will watch the first 2 movies and watch The Sarah Connor Chronicles since i feel it's a better T3 that we had gotten.
I'm sorry Cody. I really wanted to like this flim but it just pissed me off right at the beginning. You said in the past that movies should not be like Alien 3. This flim is just like it. I will restrain myself to not give spoilers until you're next video. I really did not like this flim. It just takes a huge dump on T1 and T2.
Without getting specific this was completely different than Alien 3. Alien 3 wipes out the victory of Aliens. Dark Fate acknowledges that victory, keeps that victory, and expands with consequences of said victory. To me...nowhere near the same.
@@CodyLeachYT uh cody, come on man he's right. It pulled an alien3 which defeats the purpose of the lore the first terminator movies set. It was a giant middle finger to "misoginist" fans just to gender swap roles
@@Emapten agreed! *SPOILER* So All those epic scenes in T2 of the T-1000 trying to kill John! The semi chase, the helicopter chase, everything he had to endure just to be shot and killed on the beach trying to get a smoothie. I mean come the fuck on.
4killer and to think killing John Connor in the opening scene was James Cameron’s idea all along. The same guy who created these characters took a dump on his own storylines and character. Who’d have thought? This is one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. You’d think he would have known better.
@@sociopathsurvivor7129 I don't want to get into conspiracy shit but its almost as if Cameron did it on purpose. He gets to sit back and watch people shit on this movie and then praise his first 2 movies even more then we already do. You think if he had full creative control and was the director, main writer, and producer of this movie that he would of allowed this to ever happen. I doubt he would ever want a Terminator movie to be anywhere close to his first 2.
I'm sorry bro I respect your opinion and most of the time agree with and I also agreed with you on salvation being incredibly underrated so I just don't know how you can enjoy this movie especially if you love the first 2 so much
This film takes a huge steaming dump on the legacy and story of Terminator 2 and on the character of John Connor. I'm shocked that you liked this movie.
ParisAvenue2005 even more crazy is the fact that it was James Cameron’s idea all along to kill off John Connor in the opening scene. Who’d have thought the same guy who created this character would disrespect him and the fans in such a way?
I thought it was trash. I was pissed after the 1st 5 mins and the movie did nothing to change my mood. I also felt that a 5 ft tall girl was in no way shape or form believable as the leader of mankind in a fight against the machines. Just another failed attempt at starting a new terminator franchise that most of us will forget about in a few years.
@@CodyLeachYT Well in this make belief world of giant fighting robots, Im pretty sure most ppl would not follow a midget who can barely hold a gun into battle. You want to make her a genius strategists fine, but sorry her presence doesnt scream warrior. Linda in T2 was believable as a woman you could fight with she had the look and presence.
@The ManHammerAR15 oh no did i offend you by insulting and complaining about a movie you liked? Sorry i thought this was place to share our opinions on movies, but silly me i forgot this is 2019 where ppl cant share opinions unless it lines up with everyone else.
You know what I love, when new movies of old franchises kill off their legacy characters, especially the main character and hero. Bravo Dark Fate, bravo.
John connor is suspose to be the main hero/ star I always loved edward furlong in T2 !! Always wanted to see john connor played by edward in the future either when the war takes place or when the world falls by the hands of the machines!! So I hope the little I'm hearing isnt true !!!
But that would make what happened in two irrelevant this doesn't. he and his mother did stop the day from occurring like it was supposed. the fact that mankind made other mistakes that led to a similar future was not their fault they were a success. and How is he the hero of 1? The may have called him that but the hero of One and a co hero of 2 is Sarah Connor.
The first 5 minutes of this film was a complete slap in the face to T1 and T2. It was just insulting! There will never be another good Terminator film, I've given up hope at this point. As far as I'm concerned the Terminator Saga ended with Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The rest that came after T2 was and is nothing more than a Big Budget Fanfiction and a Cash Grab.
I always loved the lore of Skynet. I feel like they replaced it with a cheap watered down version. T2 looked like a real future war against the machines. Legion looked like CGI creatures with tentacles, just not Terminator to me.
@@CodyLeachYT Well considering the future is based on John Conner being the savior of the human race and the leader of the resistance it's pretty dumb the he's killed off , it's kinda taking a shit on the first two movies which are the only good ones. And can some0ne answer me somthing, maybe it's me and I'm getting old, I'm 45 but how does CGI in 1991 look better then CGI in 2019/20 ?
Actually John was the savior against Skynet. And he fulfilled that destiny in T2. Now history repeats itself with Legion and John is not tied to their future. Makes perfect sense to me.
@@CodyLeachYT oh I missed tht in Terminator and T2 they never mentioned tht lol, never saw that in story line convenient for reboots and remakes kinda like Palpatine surviving In this next S W movie. Shitting on the original story line. Just my opinion.
@@CodyLeachYT The message I got from this movie: Preventing the end of the world isn’t something you do just once - we all have to keep changing the future, from the next threat to humanity that’s always going to come up next. But each step in that process is a worthy struggle, and people’s sacrifices all mean something.
Totally respect your opinions and thoughts. But to me, Genisys and Dark Fate are the worst entries. Your review on Salvation- largely agree. Genisys- slightly agree. Dark Fate- complete disagreement. Only good thing if Dark Fate is the Rev-9. That’s it. Both of those movies made such aweful decisions that’s it’s bo surprise the sequels got cancelled. Especially with that opening five minutes. I would rather contribute to see the lost Salvation trilogy than any reboot or sequel to Genisys and Dark Fate.
@@CodyLeachYT Quite the opposite, it’s the only sequel to respect T2 by acknowledging that T2 closed the predestination paradox that T1 opened. (T1 created future John and the Resistance via John’s conception and the T800 brain chip left in the lab; T2 erased future John and Skynet by destroying that stuff). The only reason Cameron decided against the conclusive ending shot for T2 (in which we see the future without Judgement Day) was because he didn’t think audiences needed to be spoon-fed. He’s since admitted he was wrong. At least Dark Fate doesn’t give the middle finger to T2 by trying to keep the paradox open somehow, like T3/Salvation did. It sets up a new one. The moral of the story for T1, T2, and DF is that although there’s always going to be a new struggle, a new hurdle, we can and should keep fighting. Anyone who gets hung up on John Connor not being at the center of it all, never truly understood the first two movies.
The movie was fine, everything you expect from a Terminator movie. For those complaining about the same formula, Marvel has done the same for twenty-four of their movies just skin differently. I can't say it's the best terminator movie, but was good entertainment for the night.
Marvel may have a formula, but they don't use the same plot for every film. If every Marvel film had a hero who started as an arms dealer and eventually had to fight another giant robot built by Jeff Bridges, that would more analogous to what this film did, which was reboot the series partway through to just repeat the exact same plot, beat for beat, just with different names.
I watched all of your terminator reviews leading up to this and I am honestly really confused. This is either a parody review or you are being a hypocrite. All of your positives sound like all of the negatives from your last reviews. I think you personally should watch your other reviews and maybe sleep on this for a few days.
I agree with everything you’ve said...I went into this movie with very low expectations and it really surprised me...it’s my favorite Terminator movie since T2
Dark Fate was complete and utter garbage that does nothing but feed into woke culture and completely negates the occurrences of the first two Terminator films. A total disappointment.
One thing the recent Terminator movies are missing... the emotionless facial expressions. The one actor that nailed it completely is Robert Patrick. The next Terminator really needs to bring that element to the character back. You've got to believe these characters are machines.
@@JSC178 They’ve struggled to do a sequel ever since T3. It’s like the don’t quite know what to do with the franchise. It would be very cool to see a prequel, I agree. At this point, I just sort of enjoy them for what they are and don’t put too much expectation on the films.
Hey Cody, just saw the movie. Dark Fate is easily the best Terminator film since T2. Amazing action sequences, especially the Terminator on Terminator hand to hand combat, loved it. Linda Hamilton once again kicked ass. Mackenzie Davis was great as Grace. Arnold’s performance in this is easily his best T-800 performance since T2, sometimes less is more with humor and it worked very well with Arnold’s performance. The villain was great too, Gabriel Luna has that same likability and charisma that Robert Patrick brought to the T-1000. Overall, enjoyed the characters, the story and the action. Amazing movie.
Appreciate your review Cody. My thoughts however, dark fate is a fine action movie if you could view it as a standalone thing. As a terminator sequel it just doesn’t work for me for the story. Things like did sky eat judgement day happen in future? Was Grace sent by a military hierarchy meaning Dani is a really important figure, or did she just return on a whim to save her personal idol? If the second one, how is it that just anyone can time travel if they want to? You’d think they’d have that under lock. Some positives the villain is great, action was cool, to me the story was just a little lacking and is actually stronger if you look at it as its own individual idea not a franchise entry. Just my thoughts.
Yngol Ysgramorson completely disagree. John Connor was no longer needed. Skynet was destroyed and the future changed. Legion was never John Connor’s fate to begin with. Skynet was. Therefore John Connor was no longer needed. His chapter was closed
I really need to rewatch it. Since I binged all 6 films the same evening/night/morning, I couldn't properly enjoy this movie after hours of watching, the biggest turn-off probably being the fact that they did yet another reboot after Genisys and fucked up the second trilogy completely.
Definitely respect your opinion Cody but I have to say I was very disappointed with Terminator Dark Fate. 😐🤦🏻♂️ Grace was a horrible character and The Terminator was ridiculous. Plus what they did with John Connor completely threw out T-2! Definitely a 👎🏼
CGI better in 1991 then 2019 somthing wrong here folks . That goes for Star Wars and all the rest . Cause movies look better in the 80s and 90s and thts a fact . Terminator 2 looks better then every one after .
I watched T2 three days in a row before seeing Fate and just kept telling my son about the scope of practical effects and setup. Mad Max Fury Road was magnificent because of their approach. Fate was not.
Boris Godzinevski Fury Road is visually stunning but repetitive, simplistic and bloated as hell. Nowhere near T1 or T2 masterpieces in terms of storytelling, concept or action.
I just saw the movie. I enjoyed it. The CG was just too much. I understand they wanted to go big but it doesn’t have to be a CG shit show. T2 was amazing cause it looked great at the same time looking realistic. It was still grounded. The hand to hand combat was awesome though. Grace was amazing. I disagree with the SJW aspect of the movie. It never bothers me in movies but for anyone who does get annoyed with it, this movie will annoy you. Danis character wasn’t a great fit in my opinion. Everyone else was spot on, I felt get ll her acting was spotty in scenes. Gabriel Luna was fucking awesome. Very good job. Linda Hamilton did a really good job of reprising her role. The first few minutes of the movie was great for terminator fans. I’d give it a 7/10
My opinion is the best sequel after T2 is Salvation. I haven't seen Dark dark fate but I'm gonna see where it checks in the ranking. Genisys is definitely dead last. I heard this movie is no as bad as T3 or Genisys but it wasn't that good overall.
Dodo Ribeiro 1999 well sorry. I was calling that guy who I replied to an asshole, because he didn’t respect Cody’s opinion. I won’t make insults next time.
Yep Cody, I agree, the best of post T2 sequels. But it doesn't mean it's a good movie. As a stand alone movie it is a decent flick sure, but for me personaly it was rather a frustrating experience, and I am not a die hard Terminator fan. I guess I am not a fan of Miller's style, and the esthetic choices he makes. Also I find the script and dialougue pretty bland, sure there are some nice stuff in it, or some good lines, but they are good because main actors are charismatic, and they know how to deliver. That's my next issue with the movie. Linda, Arnie and Mackenzie are good because they are good in general, I think script underuse their talents and potentials, as actors and as characters. Gabriel was fine, I agree, but really the writters could give him more to do. The rest of the cast, meh, Dani was more then boring. Other background characters could not be even in the movie, they were so dull. You say action and fight choreography was great. Maybe it was, but I don't care about great fight choreography when the CGI makes it looks super fake, polished, filtered and unnatural. Jesus, it looked simply bad. Maybe it's only me, but I can't stand it anymore, it takes me off every single time these days. I don't mind the radical opening storywise, but again the CGI... I want to watch movies, not game intros. Anyway, nice review as always man, cheers.
You fell for it....I enjoy this channel, and respect opinions that aren't my own, but I cannot agree on any level that this movie did anything original, or for that matter had a good story, if passable is the new standard than lets prepare for some mediocre movies going forward.
deraj nitram NO. You clearly don’t respect his opinions if you’re saying “He fell for it”. You are coming off like you think he is too stupid and is “incorrect” about his thoughts. I haven’t seen this film yet, but regardless of what I eventually think of it, you can’t say someone is an idiot because they like something you don’t.
@@christophersteve427 Clearly you can't handle an opinion different from his, I never said he was an idiot, I just flat out completely disagree with his assessment of the movie, than doesn't mean I think he's stupid, we just don't agree. The fell for it comment was maybe in poor taste, but I was merely trying to say that he like many who will embrace this movie seem to overlook bad creative/character decisions because they were entertained, or that this didn't suck as bad a prior sequels. You don't have to agree with me on that, and hey that's fine, that's why they're called opinions.
deraj nitram I wasn’t upset about how you felt about the film. I just scratch my head at comments that categorize someone as “the exact same as this group” simply for their opinions. For all we know, one person could like/dislike Dark Fate for different reasons others may like/dislike it. I’m sorry if I came off hostile, but even if I saw Dark Fate and hated it, I personally would steer clear of poor-taste comments like “You fell for it” because that wouldn’t make me look good and people wouldn’t want to listen to my thoughts. A simple bad choice of words can cause people to misunderstand and take your stance the wrong way.
By the time of your spoiler review, now that time has passed, just stop and really think about Arnie's entire arc in this film and what it says about terminators...
I thought it was alright , wasn’t as into it as you were apparently. All in all a decent time at the movies though. Too much fan service , and the first five minutes even though I know it was coming , it still hurt to the core!
Don’t get me wrong , I’m tired of the character too but only because he’s been done so wrong in the last 3 movies. I mean , Bale was alright I guess but I have a hard time even counting that movie to be honest
how can someone be tired of John Connor?? Especially if you take Into consideration that this is a direct sequel to T2l! So people are tired of John Connor after one movie??
I agree with Cody on this one, the John Connor character endulged too much in reboots and recast all the way down forget about Furlong, his carreer was downhill by the past decade or so
I loved it! T1 and T2 are better and sharper but T Dark Fate is with Jurassic World and Infinity War one of the best times I had in a cinema in recent years.
I'm surprised U like this, Cody. As for me I this is my least favorite of the Terminator films. I hate how they fucking killed John Connor at the very beginning. I wasn't really all that impressed with this new Rev-9 Terminator. Schwarzenegger and Hamilton were awesome as usual and the overall performances were good. But felt the CGI action was way too over the top, especially the water at the dam scene. But that's just my thoughts on this.
I'd say it's on par enough with the First Terminator. But let's face it. There is NO sequel that can touch Judgment Day. That being said I was glad to see it wasn't trying to and it worked to be it's own thing. Not the best but possibly the best since T2.
@Michael Anderson Look we all know Judgment Day was the real end of the story. Everything after is just for money. But that doesn't mean it can't be decent.
You seem to like this more than I did Cody. Yes, it was nice to see Linda Hamilton back, Mackenzie Grace was great and I thought the Rev 9 Terminator was a good enough threat since T-1000. I just the story was derivative of the first 2 Terminators movies.
Hey Cody, I just want to tell you something. I absolutely respect your opinion. I sadly really disliked Dark Fate a lot but if you like it, that’s fine! They might make another movie in another timeline that also take’s place after T2 where John Connor’s alive. We don’t know! But I’m very happy for you that you enjoyed this film. And and also hope you end up enjoying movies later this year in 2024 sadly unlike 2023 in my personal opinion.
Love your channel, but I find it interesting that you complain about the language and dialogue used in Rob Zombie's films. Yet you have a hearty use of "colorful metaphors" in your reviews.
Making a crude joke once in a while and cramming a movie with "cunt" and "fuck" every 4th words is not the same thing...not even close. Not sure what point youre trying to make here but you failed at making it.
People need to let go of the past and take films as they are. Go in this movie with a "Have fun, Open mind" type of mindset you will not be disappointed at all! And as Cody stated...This was a GREAT MOVIE! If people would do this, We will get more movies of this franchise!
Hey, I appreciate your enthusiasm, and far be it from me to stifle it. That being said, Dark Fate is the sixth movie in a franchise that dates back 35 years. A movie like that has to fit in with the prior movies, even if time travel or the power of retconning eliminates other movies. If I feel like I've seen most of the movie in one form or anohter before, I can't just give it a pass because this one movie put a tweak on it. I had the same issues with The Force Awakens and Halloween 2018. But glad you enjoyed it. Its floundering at the box office and rights issues might be rearing their ugly head again, so this might be it for awhile. Hopefully the ending was satisfying if its the conclusion of the franchise.
@Michael Anderson Not true at all. I did not care for Salvation. While others liked it for its trying something new, I did not care for that one at all. Again, I have stated twice before. If you don't like anything after 2? Then your opinion is not gonna change with the new movie either. But if you can come into a film? With just wanting to spend some time and forget your troubles outside for a few hours, Then you will enjoy this movie. Its not gonna please everyone unfortunately. And probably cause of the "WOKE" thing going on. It's just gonna bomb and be the last of the franchise. So, May as well enjoy it while we still have it. What I wish they did? Was kept doing the "Sarah Connor Chronicles" while people did not care for that one either. I thought it was very nicely done.
Overall, I thought it was okay. Linda Hamilton was great. Arnold was a lot of fun for what he had to do. Grace was a cool character. Where I, ultimately, struggled with this film was the character Dani. I didn't feel like I got to know her and her arc didn't feel earned. In fact, there are a number of emotional moments in this that don't feel earned. The action was also hit or miss. There was great stuff like the fight in the factory. Then there were some bloated, cgi heavy sequences that really took me out of it. I really don't hate this movie, there's definitely good in it, but there's also a lot of bad. Overall, not good. Not bad. Just okay.
To me I wouldn't argue with your negatives but those positives far outweighed the negatives. is it a near perfect film like the first 2 NO. But I NEVER expect a film to be as good as those first 2 it is not a reasonable expectation to me. Hopefully if you give it another go round you like it more.
Rock Universe Gaming if you are referring to the scene in Mexico early on with the cgi faces. I think all that does was assure the success of those first two if it’s another I am not sure which one. But I get people not liking that it didn’t bother me as I don’t think that person was ever as important to the films as they are in them . And the individual is in no shape to carry a film of this magnitude in 2019.
There's a few plot holes. Why did Arnold go into the lava in T2 to destroy himself so another one of him couldn't be created? Dark Fate ignores that because Carl was made. Kyle told Sarah in The Terminator that cyborgs can't feel pitty, Dark Fate ignores that. Looking past those issues, I did like Dark Fate. I would put it as the fourth best Terminator movie. The cast was great, Grace was my favorite character in the movie. Linda kicked ass! Arnold did great, this is his best performance in awhile imo.
I'll be honest, Cody. There is one main character from past Terminator movies you didn't mention really in this video, and I've heard why, and because of that, bit reluctant to see it. I might still see it at some point, but as far as spending money for at least my first view of it, that's where my reluctance lays.
Nice review, Cody! Even though this movie features a very big change/revelation, I think it worked. The plot itself rehashed certain elements of the previous films (T2 especially), but it all plays into the story surprisingly well. It's all familiar, but still a surprisingly solid movie in my opinion.
It’s great to find a review that doesn’t completely trash Dark fate like so many other ones. I thought the De-aged scene had a big twist that I did not expect, and I thought it was a nice change of pace, the new future war leader scene was a little hard to believe but that’s just because the actor themself wasn’t very inspiring or noble, can’t even hold a gun right. Arnie and Linda being back was great, but her I’ll be back line sounded a little bored, Woulda preferred them using a different take where it was more channeled through Arnie, overall no Terminator movie will ever be as good as the first 2 but Dark fate was certainly a step up, even if it did take some big risks.
This is Terminator 3, why?, because it was written by Cameron. It may have not pleased everyone, but it’s like star wars prequels, it’s the vision of the creator and I’m ok that this movie is the last one, it doesn’t matter if there’s another war or another skynet, Sara Connor’s story ended very well here.
Has anyone ever realised that John Connor was a paradox in himself? What happened to him in the first few minutes sort of removes the paradox and maybe prove that the "future is not set".
Rell Antoine the minute you imply that the only opinion that matters yours and anyone who disagrees with you is wrong your argument immediately loses credibility. Just because you childishly insult someone doesn’t make you any more right 😂😂😂

People get so mad over individuals that are positive over this film. It’s all opinion; just like any other film. You like it? Cool. You hate it? Cool. No need to hate on others for it.
Michael Anderson once again, it’s personal opinion. You have every right to feel that way and there’s nothing wrong with that. But there are ones that feel the exact opposite and think differently and that’s okay too. You like what you like regardless of others.
Great review! I’m planning on seeing this with my dad on Wednesday. I tried to avoid spoilers and I won’t say any spoilers, but I did hear of the opening. Not spoiling anything, but it sounds really ballsy. I want to see what the movie does with it. I’ve been waiting for a worthy sequel to Terminator 2 (my favorite movie of all time), so I hope I love it.
Hearing a lot of mixed things about this movie. I’m a big fan of the first two, so I definitely have some big expectations for when I see this tomorrow. Your review has definitely made me more confident that it’ll be good, so I hope I enjoy it as much as you did! Definitely looking forward to it.
@The ManHammerAR15 : That's not true. You are entitled to your opinion, just like everyone else. But just because some of us don't share your opinion on the movie doesn't make us haters. You understand you are hating on anyone who doesn't share your opinion.
I wanted to give this movie a chance, but I ended up hating this movie for the same reasons why I hate T3 and Genisys. It’s just more of the same T2 shit with a bunch of plot elements borrowed from T3, Salvation, and Genisys. Nothing new or fresh about it.
You're awesome, Cody, but I can't say I agree with you on Dark Fate. I'm more in line with Chris Stuckmann's and Thorias Unlimited's reviews. But movies are subjective and I'm glad you enjoyed the movie, so it's all cool. Keep it up, bro!
This movie sucked so bad I literally get nauseated even talking about so I’ll give you a thumbs up but I see nothing positive about this movie. I hope to god this killed the franchise for good. I’m gonna say 3 was the last one in my mind even though Christian Bale was a good j Connor
Cody, I'm in the burnt-out fan category. However, based on your review I'm going to avoid spoiler reviews and wait until I can stream it. I avoided the last one in the franchise but for this one I'll try it since I'd like to see a future war in one of the sequels.
I was one of the few rooting for this movie to succeed. The action was great, but i wish there was more of it. McKenzie Davis was great in the role, but i didn't care for her character much. I didn't like the twist with the Dany character at all. It wasn't believable. I believe she was miscast. Sarah back was cool, but she didn't do much. Arnold was cool, New Terminator was cool. It could have been much better though, but i still enjoyed it.
i dunno about you, but this movie was definitely dripping with politics. how the characters are, how it began, that one aggravating line from sarah connor and perhaps one of the biggest disrespects in the series make this the worst terminator movie. it somehow beat genishyt. how in the possible hell can it achieve such a status when genishyt exists!?
@@CodyLeachYT i went into this without any spoilers, watching any of the trailers, no nothing (cuz i've already been burned by salvation and genishyt). didn't even know if this was going to be plagued with political bullshit. but it was. they were as bright as day and way too in your face about it. you could see it from orbit. i'd expand upon it, but that's spoiler shit. some people don't see it. it happens, but when you think about it, it's all over the place.

Pretty ridiculous question. And Jeremt Jahns didn't make huge points he threw a fit about the first 5 minutes and then painted everything else as bad because of it. All of his issues are easily argued against.

Cody is awesome and I definitely hope to communicate with him more through reviews, but I definitely don't agree with him with dark fate, and even though I'm about to say something unpopular, I like Freddy's Dead but I totally agree with Cody 100% on why he hates it. Would love a side by side comparison. I agree when you look at T3's effects from 2003.
Surprised so many people have fallen into this trend of hating things just because hating things is popular. This movie was awesome.
Nah T3 was better in my opinion
Dark Fate is recycling of T1, T2, T3 & Salvation. 0/10 score. Killing John is slap in the face. Flushed all others in the toilet.

So only tall girls can be leaders? Lol

Auto correct wow. I never said Edward furlong was in T1. Hes in T2.

I dont see it as a slap in the face in the slightest and I idolize those two films
@@CodyLeachYT Well considering the future is based on John Conner being the savior of the human race and the leader of the resistance it's pretty dumb the he's killed off , it's kinda taking a shit on the first two movies which are the only good ones.

Could you explain how? with out spoilers I saw it as the first sequel that actually honored the original 2. And didn't make their actions pointless.
Terminator dark fate ruined T2 🤯🤯🤯🤯
...no
@@CodyLeachYT Quite the opposite, it’s the only sequel to respect T2 by acknowledging that T2 closed the predestination paradox that T1 opened.

Seems you have officially turned to the dark side...
Dark side? In what way is it the "dark" side?
Nathan Hanratty - Dark Side = “Not hating enough on action movies with women and Hispanics in lead roles”.
Stablight ridiculous. This was a damn good movie and by far the best since T2. It in no way deserves the hate it got or to flop like it did
One thing the recent Terminator movies are missing... the emotionless facial expressions. The one actor that nailed it completely is Robert Patrick. The next Terminator really needs to bring that element to the character back. You've got to believe these characters are machines.
I don't think they're making a follow up to Dark Fate, but a prequel to "The Terminator" would be welcomed!
Haha! Yup! THIS was the review I saw years ago where I was like what!? Good stuff man, I have enjoyed all these series reviews.

Im shocked you loved it!!!
Edit: Skynet ( not sky eat) stupid predictive
This is some serious shilling
If you're a fan of the original 2 this movie will disrespect the legacy of both before the titles even come up
No it doesnt so you know what you can do with that shill bullshit. :)

T2 was amazing cause it looked great at the same time looking realistic. It was still grounded. The hand to hand combat was awesome though. Grace was amazing.

"It has strong female characters" - proceeds to compare her to 2 male characters.
I'm still interested in seeing this. I enjoyed Gabriel Luna as Ghost Rider in Agents of Shield. Hopefully he did good as the Rev 9.
I'd say it's on par enough with the First Terminator. But let's face it. There is NO sequel that can touch Judgment Day. That being said I was glad to see it wasn't trying to and it worked to be it's own thing. Not the best but possibly the best since T2.
I'd say nothing will touch either of the first two films...but I would never expect any movie to either. This was great that's all I ask.
@@CodyLeachYT It was good I will say that... That scene in the beginning with a certain deaging effect still stings a little.

Swearing every so often's fine. Only having characters swear because he can't think of any good dialogue for them like Zombie does isn't.
People need to let go of the past and take films as they are. Go in this movie with a "Have fun, Open mind" type of mindset you will not be disappointed at all! And as Cody stated...This was a GREAT MOVIE! If people would do this, We will get more movies of this franchise!

@@CodyLeachYT Np. I found your channel a few months ago. I think I watched just about all your stuff! lol
I'm was so worried for this movie, and I still haven't seen it just yet, but the positive reviews are sort of setting me at ease. Thanks, Cody.

@@glyn420 theres one scene ill never forgive that hurts the movie alot so my opinion will probably stat the same.
The Matrix and T2, my fav sci fi's of all time.
One of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Glad you enjoyed the film. I admit I was gonna skip this but since you got good things to say about it I'll check it out.
New intro theme IS GREAT!!!
Has anyone ever realised that John Connor was a paradox in himself?
What happened to him in the first few minutes sort of removes the paradox and maybe prove that the "future is not set".
But Legion and Dani bring it right back to being set.
Movie was good better than t3 genesis and salvation not better than t2 or 1 tho I d say it’s a solid 8 or 7 outta 10
This movie was trash. Sarah and T# couldn't save it either. Dead franchise is dead.
Rell Antoine negative comment is negative for negativity sake lol
@@spudmoneybags85 nah. The movie was trash. It is what it is. Anybody w/a half an eyeball can see that. Carry tho.
Rell Antoine the minute you imply that the only opinion that matters yours and anyone who disagrees with you is wrong your argument immediately loses credibility. Just because you childishly insult someone doesn’t make you any more right 😂😂😂
@@spudmoneybags85 didn't imply anything actually. I just said how I felt. I didn't ask for anyone to agree w/me. It's my opinion. And when did I insult anyone? I said anyone w/a half eyeball - if you felt insulted, that's truly on you. You dont have to agree w/me feeling as if its trash. If you liked it. Good for you. I disagree and that's pretty much all there is to say about it.
@@spudmoneybags85 Looks like you're jumping to conclusions. You're the one acting like other people aren't allowed to have an opinion without you jumping down their throat.
I feel as though a lot of negative reviews, not ALL, but a lot are biased due to nostalgia and being unable to accept change and a new direction. People get so mad over individuals that are positive over this film. It’s all opinion; just like any other film. You like it? Cool. You hate it? Cool. No need to hate on others for it.
This comment section confirms that 1000%
Michael Anderson once again, it’s personal opinion.
It doesn't ruin it in my opinion at all.
Respectfully I give it a C+
Hearing a lot of mixed things about this movie. I’m a big fan of the first two, so I definitely have some big expectations for when I see this tomorrow.
Your review has definitely made me more confident that it’ll be good, so I hope I enjoy it as much as you did! Definitely looking forward to it.
Yes, no genuine problems with this movie, just a bunch of people who are "following a trend."
@The ManHammerAR15 : That's not true. You are entitled to your opinion, just like everyone else. But just because some of us don't share your opinion on the movie doesn't make us haters. You understand you are hating on anyone who doesn't share your opinion.
I personally thought it was just okay. I had some real problems with it, but overall, I thought it was fine. Hope you like it.
@The ManHammerAR15 : That explains a lot.
@The ManHammerAR15 : That's exactly how I felt about dark fate so I guess we agree on something other than Heat.
Cody great review man I'm glad someone appreciates this awesome sequel, I really enjoyed this too. I highly recommend also.
Glad you liked it
I wanted to give this movie a chance, but I ended up hating this movie for the same reasons why I hate T3 and Genisys. It’s just more of the same T2 shit with a bunch of plot elements borrowed from T3, Salvation, and Genisys. Nothing new or fresh about it.
I never saw this movie and doubtful I want to. Most reviews are just too negative
Great video man, as always.
I thought this was really good, best Terminator since T2. Just awesome. 🤘⛧Stay metal⛧🤘
Thank u!! Finally someone that loved it other than me!!!
You're awesome, Cody, but I can't say I agree with you on Dark Fate. I'm more in line with Chris Stuckmann's and Thorias Unlimited's reviews. But movies are subjective and I'm glad you enjoyed the movie, so it's all cool. Keep it up, bro!
I thought this was the best Terminator sequel since salvation
I'm really surprised you liked this movie. I came on hear thinking you was gonna destroy it. 🤣
Dark Fate indeed is the best sequel since T2, and i think the start point for the plot was tolerable this franchise needed a new direction
Finally!!!! I enjoyed this film and I'm so glad you and Angry Joe enjoyed this movie
@The ManHammerAR15 I know right! I love all these films.
Dark Fate was awesome! Getting way too much Dark Hate
Fuck the haters
I was one of the few rooting for this movie to succeed. The action was great, but i wish there was more of it. McKenzie Davis was great in the role, but i didn't care for her character much. I didn't like the twist with the Dany character at all. It wasn't believable. I believe she was miscast. Sarah back was cool, but she didn't do much. Arnold was cool, New Terminator was cool. It could have been much better though, but i still enjoyed it.
First half was good .too much cgi.
This movie sucks
i dunno about you, but this movie was definitely dripping with politics. how the characters are, how it began, that one aggravating line from sarah connor and perhaps one of the biggest disrespects in the series make this the worst terminator movie. it somehow beat genishyt. how in the possible hell can it achieve such a status when genishyt exists!?
It's only dripping with politics if you walk in looking for it and assigning it. I didnt pick up political agendas once the whole movie.
So just because a movie involves crossing the border as a minor objective that makes it terrible?
@@anthonyhudak9363 that's literally one point of several others. even if you take the crossing the border stuff out, there's still a lot of other sjw pandering. please come back and offer an actual counter-argument.
@@lightningdash231 oh ok just because Grace is a female protagonist who can hold her own against a terminator that makes it social justice. I mean it's not like the Terminator franchise has ever had strong female protagonists before
@CodyLeach were you paid to give this review? Jeremy Jahns destroyed this flick and made huge points on how bad the movie is.
Pretty ridiculous question. And Jeremt Jahns didn't make huge points he threw a fit about the first 5 minutes and then painted everything else as bad because of it. All of his issues are easily argued against.
@Michael Anderson They prevented the creation and world domination of Skynet. His legacy was fulfilled only as a kid not as an adult. History repeating itself and humans never learning is not deeming the first two films irrelevant at all.
@@CodyLeachYT you're right
