Not his wife.. But if you check every reaction you have done she is there! She has worked for him for decades as well as most of his other crew.. A core of 8 people that toured with him for thirty odd years.. That says something about the man 🇦🇺
The fact that we know Farnsey’s band members by name and the singers have all done duets like this with him is a tribute to the kind of person he is and the kind of person who wants to perform with him
Lisa was his backing singer for years. She only left when she married and had a baby (I think) He always gives his band opportunities to shine, really nice guy
Yes... she had been married for a while...had the baby and took it to one of the few Farnsey concerts she had missed backing him... (In one of the live tour videos he points her out in the audience with the baby-Danielle Gaha (another enormous talent) steps in for Lisa whilst she's on maternity leave) the whole band are more like a family than most biological families are ! For them to come out of whatever projects they're doing each and every time John decides to either put out another album or tour for over 20+years, speaks volumes for John's character.
@@BELTED007 I think John always chooses likeminded people...the entire band were so down to Earth and approachable for sure - I was lucky enough to meet them all multiple times at concerts here in WA - never a dull moment at a Farnsey concert hahaha
I'm 62, I've been watching John all my life, and I am still amazed at the level of talent, and I still get goosebumps and tear up when I watch him on stage. I'm so grateful to have seen him live in Darwin when he was 70yrs of age. He was still phenomenal, never missed a note.
Me too 🙋♀️ so blessed to have seen him many many times live in Melbourne, & loved his tour family, they must have had so much fun on tour, all beautiful spirits & so loyal to John too.
So John has always treated every single person within his team as family. He loves Lisa, but isn't in love with her, same goes for Lisa. She loves John, but isn't in love with them. They always gave the feeling off of being 'Family' to me. I have and always will love their chemisty. PS. Johns music will teach the world how to love without needing to be romantic. Its why we love him down here in Australia. We can love our mates without it needing to be romantic.
John is what we call a larrakin in Australia- joker. Before he came to fame in the 60s he was a plumber - working class guy and that’s where his humour and personality comes from. Seeing him live you get more than just music you get a journey. His backing singers are just amazing - Vanetta Fields, Lisa Edwards and Lindsay Field (also guitarist) are great in their own light and compliment John so well.
It’s to Farnsey’s credit that we know them all and their talents and they feel so safe to share the limelight with him when he’s mucking around #larrakin #farnseysalegend
Shout out to John Farnham. He is batteling cancer and is not a well man at the moment. Us Aussies love him for all the reasons you say in this video. He is a wonderful man.
And see how far away his mike is. I am just always amazed by his mike technique and his powerful perfect beautiful voice that just never falters. He is a gift to the world 🌎 not just Australia! And Lisa is just delicious and they were meant to sing together ❤️
Lisa shows the benefit of being a fine vocalist and one of his regular backup singers - and rehearsal. She clings to his vocals like a velcro baby in a fine dress. Now, onto Amazing Grace with Venetta Fields and the rest of the crew.
Watching, and re-watching, all of these "Farnsey" reaction videos, it becomes clear John knows how to read people and will sing to compliment the other artists around him to be in the moment with them. It's akin to a conductor deciding to pick up the violin and playing perfectly with his orchestra. Pure mastery he makes look effortless.
Johns Voice is like a fine wine gets better with age. Lisa is one of his backup singers and they got amazing chemistry. Johns Voice is on another level notice how he doesn’t wanna overpower Lisa’s Voice so he draws back the 🎤 a bit
The mind-blowing bit of this performance, apart from John's ability to go from clowning around to pitch perfect singing in an instant, is the fact he can hold his mic that far away from his mouth and is still louder than Lisa who's mic is right near her mouth.
Yes, yes, yes! I myself have mentioned many times over the years about his mike technique and how his voice is so powerful that there is no need to actually eat it like many 'singers' of today 😁🤭

He got burned trying to perform and make internationally with little River band hence he never wanted to leave Australia again and anyway, didn't need to
Might be that Lisa was nervous at being front and centre and John was goofing around to put her at ease. His career has had so many incarnations that he can probably relate to someone being nervous. I remember him as a young heart throb popstar 'Johnny Farnham', then as a musical theatre success in Pippin, and as a pop/rocker whose career has ebbed and flowed. Humour has kept him relatable to both audience and professional peers for decades.
Lisa Edwards is a fantastic Vocalist in her own right & as one of his backing singers for 20+ years, is a dear friend of both John & his wife; Jillian. What you are witnessing is the product of two professionals - who have been effortlessly blending their tone timbre pitch & dynamic ranges for so long it's kind of on autopilot. I think that's maybe what you are picking up on; that level of ease & familiarity & obvious affection. But that's just John you know. He just exudes warmth & affection & treats everyone as 'family'. Just another reason why he's so beloved. ...Yesterday I was trundling around my local supermarket & suddenly realised the background music was John singing 'Take The Pressure Down'. I was singing along & I was passing people pushing their trolleys and also singing along - most of them word perfect. And we've all done that several thousand times. But you see... HERE'S THE THING:- Farnsie is such a solid part of our background 'musical landscape' that it wasn't until I started SEEING HIM AFRESH recently through NON Aussie eyes & ears - like YOURS - that I have now gained a whole fresh appreciation of just what a Vocal Master he is. Not only does a whole new focus sharpen my own focus - but your DELIGHT in our John absolutely DELIGHTS US ALSO! So THANK YOU for that! This is the most perfect raw vocal performance right through all the ranges... you still gotta do John Farnham "Please Dont Ask Me" maybe the live version of it
There's a live version of Please Don't Ask Me from "The Midday Show" where he had no warning. They just handed him a mic at the end of the interview and told him his mother-in-law had sent in a request.
I love your reactions btw and one thing I would like to point out to you is , John is his own sound engineer you may not yet have noticed the way he moves his mic closer and farther away from his mouth to make his volume changes smooth to the ear, and we are talking millimetre accuracy in micro movements whilst singing at the same time, he is such a legend and thank you so much for pointing out many of his other talented skills.
This is the kind of video, that makes you want to go back and listen to again straight away. If John hadn’t been a Singer, he would have been a wonderful comedian but thankfully for us he’s got that magical voice. 🎼❤️🇦🇺❤️🇺🇸🕺🏻💃🎸☘️
Lisa Edwards has been one of John's band member since 1988 they harmonize perfectly she is "the voice behind John Farnham" her husband is Michael Tuner a barrister and they have one child peace out.
FYI john had a 12 hour surgery in August last year after doctors found an aggressive cancer in his mouth and jaw, which saw parts of both removed. ..He was also readmitted to hospital in early April with a respiratory infection but is apparently making a good recovery. there is no word on whether he will make a full recovery and be able to sing fully again but there is no doubt he will make every effort to get back to his best.
This song was originally recorded by John Farnham and Annie Crummer on the "Then Again" album. The video clip has John and an Annie Crummer singing it together. In concert, Lisa has always sung it with John. The musician on the Horn is Bob Coassin
Lisa Edwards had a song called Cry which was a powerful ballad in its own right. Worth giving that a look. Also Rick Price and Jack Jones/Southern Sons both have similar sounds. Worth checking out.

❤❤❤❤❤ they are perfection......Thank you.🌎
This is the kind of video, that makes you want to go back and listen to again straight away. If John hadn’t been a Singer, he would have been a wonderful comedian but thankfully for us he’s got that magical voice. 🎼❤️🇦🇺❤️🇺🇸🕺🏻💃🎸☘️
John is the ultimate performer! So talented 👍
I love your reactions , you teach me about vocal expression and talent .Thankyou
Thanks for replying to my request Nick, I’ve sent you the “Chain Reaction” live concert dvd. Cheers
Makes me happy to hear you loving John and Lisa has been his back up vocalist for ever and they were a great team as were all of his vocalists
Mate this was so good and I'll be playing this video a few more times today, thanks Singer.
One of my absolute favourites of his, such an underrated song
Played this at my Mama's funeral,,, beautiful and so sad at the same time! She loved JF
This song was originally recorded by John Farnham and Annie Crummer on the "Then Again" album. The video clip has John and an Annie Crummer singing it together. In concert, Lisa has always sung it with John.
The musician on the Horn is Bob Coassin
You're amazing how you get through your comments!! Your channel's fantastic, vey entertaining & heart warming to watch.
This is one of my favourite songs of all time!
Damn they are exactly on the same wavelength each pitch is perfectly synchronised
That’s just his sense of humour showing.
Lisa Edwards had a song called Cry which was a powerful ballad in its own right. Worth giving that a look. Also Rick Price and Jack Jones/Southern Sons both have similar sounds. Worth checking out.
Anyone who has played in his band can get any gig they want in Australia. So no matter what year you watch, you are listening to the best musicians.
I love watching your reactions to amazing Aussie singers I forget there are people in the world who don’t know Johnny Farnham! He’s an Australian staple ! My first concert was him ( now listen to Sadie the cleaning lady , just for a laugh )
His lead support singer for many years…..they are really great. He’s a giving performer who always acknowledges his musical back up.
Look how far the microphone is from Johns mouth, real power my friend.
True harmony, beautiful
Yours reactions are awesome to watch mate! Coz it's exactly how I react! Lmao
Thankyou! Thankyou Thankyou! One of my favourites. I’m glad you enjoyed it too
